Hey SRS we share a bday 😎. Also i was at that newport show also youre right about that tag team sinner and saint I wish TNA would come back to that venue.
It wasn't a 'bad' episode, but it also wasn't a 'good' episode. Though I did really like the Toni storm match, her angry facial expressions are hilarious.
There was a couple of good matches and interactions but not a very good show. In WWE you have Jacob Fatu debuting and here we have generally unknown guys from New Japan and CMLL. Other than Swerve v Ospreay I am not excited for Forbidden Door...I'll get it because I am very pumped for that match though. They need to change some format stuff up or something. I thought that first segment was BAD and awkward.
interest in AEW is clearly down. BUT the ratings talk is all corporate gibberish. Those arent actual viewing figures like youtube is. Those numbers are a poll that Neilson uses to get advertisers to sponsor certain TV shows. This is how popular shows, before streaming existed, got cult status: like Freaks and Geeks and Veronica Mars got canceled, despite having large real viewership. Or fake narratives: like that black people didnt watch Seinfeld got started. If the upper middle class houses neilson uses dont watch a certain show (they usually have under 2000 homes in a country of over 330,000,000 people), the numbers are completely wrong. When you base things off of a small sample size via polls; you end up with situations like in 2016, where polls showed Hillary would win but didnt. *MAKE THIS CLEAR:* I am not saying that interest in AEW isnt down, because it clearly is. I am saying that TV ratings are not actual viewing figures. They are numbers that are used for advertisers. END OF STORY Everyone who has ever worked in TV knows it. Raw and Smackdown have virtually the same Neilson audience watching both shows, but Smackdown will always have the higher rating, because it is on a Network; while Raw is on Cable. This is because, Neilson uses a mathematical formula to get their numbers. The formula they use for Networks is different from the formula they use for cable. So if 200 people in the 2000 neilson houses, watches smackdown, they will say it got something like 2.1 million viewers. If the exact same number of people watches Raw; they will say it got 1.5 million viewers. ^^^^ *that is why i say the numbers are fake* It isnt like Xtwitter or RUclips views. It is literally a bogus polling system. The last example i will use is the Ratings formula for terrestrial radio shows. They use something called the "books" (to this day). The books are a journal given to certain people that they were to write down, hour by hour what they were listening to on the radio. Now... Clearly, several people who had these books probably wrote them later, as opposed to in real time. So when they claim Howard stern had 50 million listeners; then he goes to Satellite where they got the real numbers based on subscribers, Howard brought over about 2 million people. 2 Million paid subscribers is massive, BUT: they claimed he got between 20 million and 50 million listeners per day. If that was the case, one would have expected at least 8-10 million paid subscribers following him to Satellite. The reason that didnt happen, was because those numbers they claim are the live numbers ARENT
Interest in AEW is only down to dumb casuals that still can't figure out that AEW is a pro wrestling company not a sports entertainment company. AEW is different. People need to stop crying expecting AEW to do things the WWE way. The WWE way sucks.
MJF should be fighting for a title at All-In..not fighting DG. I know we might likely get MJF v Ospreay BUT I'm only going by what I know right now and it's not doing anything for me.
@@christophermarriott1681 I'm a day 0 AEW fan and I thought this show was mid too. I wasn't even watching WWE *at all* for vast majority of AEW's lifespan. Only started watching again last October. You just come off super weird when you say stuff like that.
@@jimbalcombe4038 I have had this username since back when I disliked Roman back in like 2016. So no, that dig did not hit me nearly as hard as you might have hoped it would have. But I understand that its necessary for you that people like me must be lying about being AEW fans, to mitigate cognitive dissonance from many other people genuinely not enjoying the show as much as they used to. I would have rated this show about 5/10. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't good.
Osprey and MJF hyping up Daniel Garcia is like if Cody and Roman hyped up Greyson Waller. Not saying they can't be at the top of the card someday but right now ain't it.

Fair statement. It’s a wait and see approach right now
This show mostly felt Mid with a couple of ok things. Probably rate it a 5.5/10. Without that dumb Jericho stuff maybe I would go for a 6/10.
Ok, casual. Let me guess. Not enough sports entertainment? AEW ain't about that garbage.

Kinda digging the black n great background
Thank you!
In order to get better ratings please take Jericho off tv for a few months.
