    Everyone says the premium lens guards are better, but from all the footage I've seen, they seem to be worse than the standards. In terms of reflections and how they attract dust

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  5 месяцев назад +1

      They are above all durable. I find them to flare about the same as the standard guards. I haven’t had a problem with dust though.

    • @canyonblue737-8
      @canyonblue737-8 5 месяцев назад

      I've seen a few head to head videos and it seems if any flare more its the premium. the standard are nearly the same as no guard at all. the premium also seem to attract dust / lint easier. the only question of course is if the plastic will scratch easily, including over time as you wipe them off with a cloth something I assume is unlikely with the glass.

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  5 месяцев назад +1

      @@canyonblue737-8 As you can imagine mine are pretty new, but I went with using the glass ones as they literally do not scratch at all, the standard ones already have a few small scratches on them. I don't find they attract dust, but when mine got dirty I just washed them with soap and water and they were clean after that. As for flaring, I mean, even the lens without guards will flare, that's just the nature of a lens. It all depends on your situation.

    Hi, is there a difference between the old extended selfie and the new one? You hold up the black banded one next to the yellow banded one but I can't tell the difference. I know they specify that it's for X2 and X3 only but as far as I could tell, all X cameras have 1/4"

  • @InsanitiesBrother

    Accessories I have:
    1) 2 bay battery charger that has a lid. Good to have extra battery in your bag, and you can charge the unused batteries on the go.
    2) Tempered glass screen protector
    3) Silicon soft case
    I use mine for electric unicycle off-road shenanigans. Whilst my camera is insured it is nice to be able to bump it here and there and not worry about scuffing it.

      I have two, and yes, I coloured one in with a permanent marker. I think they are a mix of metal and plastic, they are very sturdy either way.

      @PhillipSkraba  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks! Insta360 actually sent them out to me, so no regrets. I can however tell you the ones I use, and have used since I had the X2 - Selfie Stick, 3m Selfie Stick, Rubber Lens Cap, and specifically for the X4 the Premium Lens guards come in handy. It really depends on how you'll be using the camera, so maybe other accessories might be handy too like the underwater housing or the audio adapters. Generally all the Insta360 official accessories are very well made and pretty well priced too.

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  4 месяца назад

      Well, not a small case no. The cage makes it too big to fit anywhere. It’s very durable, so premium lens guards, screen protector and you’ll be fine, unless you feel like you need the cage, then I’d go with a small generic case, maybe even a LowePro or something.

    I was wondering if insta360 or Ulanzi will have a mount for the DJI Mic 2 receiver (something similar to the xmount 360 version). The issue with the PT-21 (cold shoe) is it connects the DJI mic 2 Reciever on its widest orientation rather than on its side like the Rode wireless.

    Any comment on iPhonedo's insta360 video?

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  5 месяцев назад +2

      Yes, I did comment on his video. I know Faruk, he’s a really great guy and we’ve been friends for years. I do however wish he had backed his claims up with screenshots of his personal experiences relating to Insta360, as I understand he didn’t want to reveal evidence from other creators, but his own conversations would have made the point much more concrete. So in actual fact people haven’t been shown and aren’t even questioning what he has been replying to their requests, and whilst the internet is a ball of blind fury it would be good for us to see the toxicity he refers too and how he responded. Just food for thought as there is always two sides to a story.
      I have worked with Insta360 for years, from being sent out products no strings attached to being sponsored, and they’ve never asked me to do anything unethical or illegal, so I personally don’t have that experience. I also do enjoy using their cameras and am always excited to see what they come up with next, and will continue to do so.

    • @demonhogo
      @demonhogo 5 месяцев назад

      @@PhillipSkraba very fair. I have shot and edited for a couple pretty big creators you probably know. They have never mentioned this either.

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  5 месяцев назад +3

      Yes, that’s why I think before anyone throws the first stone, concrete evidence should be shown from his own personal conversations. Did Faruk happily agree to these toxic terms he talks about for all these years, was this a certain employee, was it about money, was it about control, we have no idea. At the moment it’s basically just a witch hunt based on his word, and whilst I’d like to believe him because he’s my friend I’d like to see what was actually going on. Did he not want to show us because his own actions were unethical? Making such a video and not revealing requests and replies based on the accusations is fishy, but not one person questioned that in the comments…

    • @nomad0714
      @nomad0714 5 месяцев назад

      @@PhillipSkraba, actually I questioned it and had the same thoughts as you but didn’t want to pour hot oil on someone who clearly is emotional.
      There’s always two sides to the story and it could be one person or a group that misrepresents Insta360 altogether.
      It seems going public is a double edged sword as in this case, his fans went into pity without facts and on flip side, I see a lot of keyboard warriors attacking other creators making videos on 360 like the one I saw comparing AP to A4 with the new firmware update. Had nothing to do with this story and off witch hunting. As if all creators who didn’t side with him are bought. Quite naive to say the least.
      Would be good to see how Insta360 executives responds to that video and reconcile. Not good for both sides to go to war as if he did engage, then didn’t get what he wanted and then went public to defame them. Might be slander if there’s no facts.
      Anyhow, hope it works out but to think Insta360 is the only one doing this, think again. I’ve worked with many famous brands and they ended up screwing my firm, but we take it to the chin and self reflect that we too should learn to be less trustworthy just because they’re big brands, you’re dealing with people at the end of day.
      Good video nevertheless! I like that Insta360 is taking risk and adding the AI chip like Sony did with the ZVE-1 and A7R5. Want to see what they can add in terms of features to upcoming firmware updates.
