      We’re very glad you enjoy the content! That’s awesome, definitely reach out if you have any questions about the application process and feel free to check out our application playlist where we go over plenty of application advice! As for the struggles, there’s definitely many more of those to come haha. Everything in life including dental school is about growing and learning from failures so I don’t mind being transparent on my struggles. After all, I’m a dental “student” learning to become a dentist. I will definitely fail plenty more times before I get that DMD degree haha

    Hey I've been watching your RUclips videos for a while now. I got into both UPENN and my in-state (Marquette). I don't think I would love living in Milwaukee but Marquette would be my cheapest option. I would love to live in Phili, but the price tag for UPENN does seem pretty high. Are you concerned about the amount of loans you are taking out?

      Hey! First off, CONGRATULATIONS! That is amazing and you should be extremely proud of your accomplishments. To start, absolutely. Student loans is a huge factor when considering dental schools and it should be on your mind when choosing schools. Aside from that, what are you plans for dental school? Do you want to specialize or are you looking into general dentistry? If you want to specialize, UPenn can definitely get you there as a large chunk of students here do specialize and don’t have many issues doing so. I am not sure how many specialists Marquette pumps out but I would maybe look into that if you’re 100% sure you want to specialize. I definitely took loans into account and a large reason I chose UPenn was because it was my second cheapest option after UFCD due to being offered a scholarship. As of today, I plan to do general dentistry but it’s nice to know I have an open door in the event I have a change of heart and want to specialize. I’m addition, I am only 1 hour away from Kathleen and Penn offers other great things that inevitably made my decision. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions as I’m more than happy to help! Also, thank you for watching and supporting our channel! -Nico

      @@thedentalduo Do you plan on specializing? Are you going to stay in big city after dental school? UPENN is still extremely expensive which is the only con I have for it.

      Hey! As of now, I don’t have plans of specializing. I think general dentistry is my route but things might change in the future if I fall in love with a specialty. I think I’ve been exposed to all of the specialities enough to know I want to do general but you never know. I am originally from Miami so after dental school I plan to move back to South Florida unless I do a specialty/residency. I have many classmates who are taking out the full loan amount and their mentality is “Once I graduate, I’ll be able to pay it off.” I think it all comes down to how aggressive you are trying to be to pay your loans off after dental school. Personally, I wouldn’t have gone to UPenn if I didn’t get the scholarship because of the price as that was a very large factor for me. Other classmates of mine disagree and chose to come hear with the max loans. I’m glad I came here in the end but I don’t blame you for being concerned about the tuition price. Let me know if you have any other questions!

    what loupe do you use?

    • @thedentalduo
      @thedentalduo  7 месяцев назад

      Hey Omar! Thanks for the comment. We both have Q Optics Ergo Directs 4.0x magnification with the eclipse frame. For our lights, we use Lumadent ProLux lights. After a couple months using these loupes, we’ve both think they’re perfect and have no complaints. They’re lightweight, have an extremely low angle of declination helping minimize our neck tilt, and allow us to see the full arc at a 4.0x magnification. We couldn’t recommend them more! Let us know if you have any questions. Btw, we both paid full price for our loupes and are not affiliated with either company.

      What is your opinion about ready made loupes ?? , welcome anytime🫶🏻

    • @thedentalduo
      @thedentalduo  7 месяцев назад

      Are you referring to the loupes that you can buy on Amazon for like $50 that are not custom to your face? If so, we personally have never used them. However, it’s common for Maryland dental students to buy a pair of those first and use them for a year before going on and buying a custom pair. From what we’ve heard from others, they’re pretty good, especially for the price. Obviously you won’t get $2,000 quality but they get the job done if you’re on a budget.

      I got 6x readymade univet loupe but iam feeling iam the only one who got readymade loupe 😂

      Honestly, if they feel good and are comfortable then that’s perfectly fine! I had some classmates choose one brand over another based off how they felt on their face. Everyone has their preferences. 6x is a lot of magnification! Wow! I’m sure you’ll get used to it though. It’ll help perfect your preps and restorations.
