    Arabic poetry, especially classical poetry, is structured around specific rhythmic patterns known as "ʿArūḍ" (العروض). These patterns are based on the length of syllables, which can be long (مُتَحرِّك) or short (ساكن). This structure can indeed be represented using binary code, where a long syllable might be represented as "1" and a short syllable as "0."For example, in the poetic meter "الطويل" (Al-Ṭawīl), one of the most common meters in classical Arabic poetry, the rhythm pattern could be represented as:فعولن مفاعيلن فعولن مفاعلن
    10101 1010101 10101 101011In this binary format:"1" represents a long syllable."0" represents a short syllable.This binary system can be applied to various other poetic meters in Arabic, each with its unique rhythmic pattern.

    Your channel is a real gem. Btw I have a question: Why did the sahabi attack the mother of Abu Sufyan, and not him directly? Wouldn't that also offend Muslims at the time who were also sons of slave women? Or was this just part of the poetry at the time not meant to be taken seriously?

    • @ArabicFluency
      @ArabicFluency  10 месяцев назад +9

      Because the Arabs were extremely proud and boastful of their lineage. So here Hassan r.a mentions this fact that they themselves were embarrassed about. He says that Abu Sufyan is not really part of Banu Hashim, but someone they've accepted into their midst. I don't think it was an attack on his mother.

    • @Ryuzaki-JongUn
      @Ryuzaki-JongUn 10 месяцев назад +1

      Before Abu Sufian (God be pleased with him) accepted Islam at the conquest of Mecca by the Muslim Armies, he had been a huge challenge to the Muslims, in War, Propaganda, Trade, and Diplomacy. So, it was a multi-faceted conflict. Even the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to joke about it with Hassan (God be pleased with him): "Do you insult them while I'm one of them (The tribe of Quraysh, and the clans it's made of)?" and Hassan responded: "I remove you from amongst them like a (long) hair from the dough." And the Prophet (peace be upon him) laughed at that.

    We must be ware of taking the foolishness of the poet by insulting his own mother and wife.
    Also we must honour all the Sahaba including Abu Sufyan رضي الله عنه whom Allahs messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم honoured by telling the people thay anyone who takes refuge in Abu Sufyans house is safe at the day of conquest of Makkah

      @@Farooqueakhan you are speaking out of bitterness, tribe and lineage was important in ancient Arabia because in a desert where there is not enough natural resources and where there is no cities built for citizens you need a tribe to survive and tribes invade each other for spoils and so you need a strong tribe . Arabic poetry is about the mastery of language, and language is what makes humans special, language is what the holy Quran is.
