  • optionalpha.com - One of the most popular management techniques you'll find in tastytrade's Market Measures segment is to close positions at 21 DTE regardless of profit or loss. Sometimes, these are coupled with profit-taking as well but often, you'll see the idea to close at 21 DTE. With our new integration to tastytrade now live, I want to show you how to incorporate this management strategy into your Option Alpha positions so you can automatically exit positions around the same DTE range.

Tastytrade 21 DTE management isn't necessarily about closing positions. It's about managing/adjusting positions.

Kirk, this is pretty cool! Hopefully your bots can throw enough business Tom's way so he gives OA a deal. I'd love to come back, but's it's hard when Tradier & TradeStation are offering Free Pro+ Memberships. For now I'm trading the old fashioned (human) way, lol. Fingers crossed for 2024 :) ...

Last we spoke he was receptive to the idea so I'm sure hearing directly from traders like you won't hurt the cause ;)

Is it also possible to set the other things in the robot like they write. The 30 delta and selling a strangle? Or do you only go through the trade ideas? Or how do you set one up like they do in Option Alpha?

Yeah you can do a lot within specific automations for sure. We don't support naked positions, only risk defined right now, but you can specify deltas and widths easily.
