Gadaladeniya Raja Maha Viharaya | With English Subtitles

You can see this historic ancient temple after traveling about 1 km on the Daulagala road from Kandy Pilimathalawa junction.
According to ancient sources, this temple was built by King Bhuvanekabahu IV with the advice of the first Dharmakirti Thero.
It is said that the king entrusted the construction of the temple to his chief minister Senadhilankara and he built the temple according to the design of South Indian architect Ganeswarachari.
Its architectural features are similar to the South Indian Vijayanagar tradition
