The B-52 is and was a strategic bomber and is a key part of our nuclear arsenal and deterrence capabilities.

Orlando International Airport used to be McCoy Air Force Base. They had B52s.The B52 on display was actually assigned to the 306th Bomb Wing at McCoy Air Force Base. There used to be a tailgunner on early B52s.Gunner was later moved upfront. I live near Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldsboro North Carolina that had B52s. The B52 is painted in what was known as Southeast Asia Camouflage. It was used in Vietnam. It's underside is painted black to help hide it during nighttime bombing missions.
The pointy thing on the side of the fuselage with the wasp nest is one of the pitot tubes (used to measure airspeed when the plane is flying.) The seating position at the rear of the plane is for a tail gunner. The bottom portion of the tail is for machine guns, with a radar above it to help the gunner aim. Orlando was originally Pinecastle Army Airfield in 1940, then McCoy Air Force Base, and finally decommissioned in 1975 to become Orlando International... though if you flew out of the airport, your baggage tags still use the abbreviation "MCO"... for McCoy.

Hard to imagine the words Hidden and B52 going together. Things are so large.
I didn't know it was there when I visited Orlando. Now I'm disappointed I didn't see it.
