Thanks for uploading this in excellent quality. "On February 18, 2019, it was officially announced on the production company nWave Studios' Twitter feed that this Showscan ride film is no longer available in their catalog, as the original files are now corrupted and can no longer be played."
Thanks for the kind words and for sharing the quote! I had no idea about that; I didn't even know nWave was involved with the production. I've found the original Twitter quote, and I've updated the description to properly credit them.
@@ReelyInteresting The original design was by Ray Spencer who also did Devil's Mine Ride and went on to Disney Imagineering. This was Ben Stassen's first Showscan film under his nWave brand. Before nWave, Stassen helped produce the CGI for Devil's Mine Ride. The ride film made its premiere at the Showscan theatre at Universal CityWalk in Hollywood.
Wow thats a real treasure here, where did you found those HDVS disc, maybe they try to build that as a substitute of the real showscan film process for making low cost dynamic ride at fun fair... 🙄

This is AWESOME!
Where do you find these HDVS clips? I would love to see more
I mean...imagine seeing this in 1996... It's not too bad in 2022!
This channel keeps amazing me with the awesome obscure content!
It really does - or, reely does! - I think as a channel it's too hard to explain to others. You either 'get' why this is awesome, or you don't.
Thank you!
Absolutely amazing! Thank you for sharing.
damn, pretty high quailty for 1996 cgi
It must seem so for people not working in that trade...or having a witnessed a large portion of CGI development.
State-of-the-art

Yes! Another earliest High Definition quality video.
There was high definition quality before the 2000s. Right?
there was even analog hd in late 80s

I know.
The first HD Broadcasts in the US were in 1997/1998, Japan had it in the early 90s though with MUSE.
@@startedtech was it analog or mpeg2 in us?
@@r4zi3lgintoro65 MPEG 2, look up 'WRAL first HD broadcast', should find some more information on it.
Do you have a SONY HDL-5800? Plays HDVS video discs in caddy format. The video disc media are WHD-3AAD and WHD-3ALO.
Unfortunately, I currently do not, but I am actively looking for one!
I remember there was a Robocop ride similar to this in the early 90s. It’s probably from the same developers. Do you have a recording of it?
@reely interesting - what Country are you in and how do you even find this stuff?!
Somone needs to smuggle you a copy of the Back To The Future dark ride tape ASAP
✌️❤️
