    That cabinet is in excellent condition! Space Harrier full hydraulic is one of my all time favourite arcade games. The weird environments, the imaginative enemies, the excellent soundtrack, the quirky sound effects - Space Harrier had it all.
    From the time when arcades were the pinnacle of gaming that home machines strived to achieve.....

      When I was a kid this game garnered many many of my quarters. It was such an awesome fast paced game for its time. I wish it was playable on Xbox just to take a trip down memory lane.

    I miss these old days. When I was at college 1986-1988 I used to play the sit down version like this every lunch break at the local Arcade. finish the game with 1 x 20p credit!. Sigh..

      Well, I am sorry that you think that, I indeed had 3 small lives not the big ones for 50p and got to the end almost every time as I played it daily whilst at college back in 1987

    As a SEGA Master System player, I've never actually seen the original arcade. God, the musical theme slaps hard even with all the explosions and the screams. Gorgeous.

    My parents played this back in the day and got a nerfed version for the Genesis. I'm mostly nostalgic for the theme song

    My strategy back then was "just rotate the whole time", the moving cabinet made that more funky.

    My fav game from the 80’s and was able to complete the game with two quarters (more expensive than the regular cabinet game). Was also able to finish Afterburner with two quarters. Felt like a rock star when the a group people would look at you playing 💪

    うっかり傍に立っていたら突き倒されそうな、あの力強い筐体の駆動は
    縦横方向2組の、80V定格の直流モーター、ベルトプーリー、ウォームギアで実現していたのですね。
    40年近く続いた疑問が今、解き明かされました。ありがとうございます。

      You missed out on a fantastic game. The sit-down arcade machine was one of my favorite arcade games! Sega knew how to make some great games.

      @@arcadeguy781 I remember it was a dollar to play back then, which was outrageous. Plus the thing just looked intimidating at 7 years old lol. Same reason I never got to play Afterburner in the arcade.

      Most kids never played it. It was too expensive. You could use that $1 in quarters to play multiple other games that were just as fun.

    She’s a cutie. Sick machine too. I’ve never seen one working before.
    Don’t understand how the character is flying though. At least when Bayonetta mimicked this game she was standing on a rocket.

    Springfield Mall TIME-OUT in Faitfax County Virgina had one of these back in the day. Also full cabinet After Burner, Out-Run, Hang On and Power Drift!

    I have put many coins in that very machine when I was young. The joystick control was *perfect* (I tried to play it on mame emulator but it just doesn't feel the same, especially for the triangle maneuver that helps a lot to defeat end level bosses). I would love to play it again.

    I actually want to start collecting old machines but it seems like the ones I want are not around anymore. Didn't know a sit down Space Harrier even existed. Shame that I now have the money to get into the hobby but all the places around me that sell cabinets have really sparse, limited stock.

    Try not to record a video with the arcade running without its covers; if anything falls down (ring, metal clip, etc) you can cause a short circuit (damaging the boards, motors, mechanism) or even worst, risk your life or the girl's by electrical shock (sparks, component explosion, etc).
