I can tell everyone so much more about Hidden Hollow and more of the history of the places. When my brothers and myself was there visiting him, I remember he was always working on a something new to put out in the park. My grandfather loved his place Hidden Hollow.
Oh my goodness! I can't believe you went there! I grew up going there all the time. Every family get together was there. And their Christmas lights are amazing! Its still great, but back in the 90s it was so much better! I miss the old game room!
If only you could have seen Hidden Hollow 20 plus years ago! It has fallen into disrepair since Arda passed. I visited here a lot as a kid and have great memories of this place. Arda was humble and kind. He would give me a bucket of feed for the animals or change for video games or rides. Hidden Hollow had one of the oldest deer in captivity at one time. He would always be out working on something. The Christmas lights are spectacular. My Dad would help Arda around the park sometimes as he got older. I live 20 minutes away and would have loved to tag along. There is a lot to see around here and if you're ever back around I can give you some suggestions. Great video Jacob!
I live near this park and years ago they had a pet buck that you could hand feed and pet and the deer would walk among the people . it was really cool to pet and feed this deer. I asked him how he got the deer and he said he found it injured and doctored it back to health and was able to tame him.
It's a little rough and ready, but behind that was somebody trying to do good, hope it gets updated so kids can keep on having fun, which is what it was intended for, Thankyou Jacob xxx
I grew up there. Arda Lee was my grandfather. I would stay there with him during the summertime. Arda Lee had a total of 4 grandchildren. Myself and my 3 brothers. I remember myself and my 3 brothers having a blast there back in the days. It was always a magical time when we visited my grandfather. My brothers and myself has part of his name in our names. My name is Jinjer Lee Richardson. The name of Lee my middle name was named after his last name. I still miss my grandfather Arda Lee a lot.
Nicola The sad thing is theirs mothers and fathers that go looking for them shore things. It’s heart breaking and that’s what has ended a lot of places and them old metal swings and play grounds we used to play on as kids I couldn’t count the no. Of split chins squashed fingers and bloody shins I run home with crying to mum and she would just say your right and that was it. It’s a changed world. A school in Sydney Australia near me has just announced that children are now banned from bringing birthday party invitations to school because it makes the kids that missed out depressed so it has to be done in secret after school. Wow. Cheers John.
I live near here and when I was a kid I busted the back of my foot open on the swings that go out over the pond. Part of the charm of Hidden Hollow haha
Hi Jacob, such a nice guy to have bought the land to restore and keep the park open, that's awesome as most people would just demolish previous things and start fresh so that's pretty cool. A really nice little place to go with the kids for a picnic etc. Thanks for sharing this little gem. x
I went to Hidden Hollow countless 😉 as a child and an adult. Companies had company barbeques there, the surprises were a draw for kids. There was a mirror that would flash a witch's face when you clapped. A yearly event was Easter sunrise services at the top of the hill. Arda played contemporary music over a loudspeaker, so many memories!🤗
I live in Cookeville. Used to go there but haven't been there since the early 2004 so I'm not sure if things are still working as far as the games and such go. But they do still have the drive thru Christmas light display. You should come back and see it then. It's awesome and you can see the lights from I-40. Great video.
I live in Baxter. Glad to see another local Carpetbagger fan! Used to go here all the time as a kid. Hidden Hollow is in a state of disrepair now. I really wish someone would fix it up. So many fun memories.
been watching you the past couple years - always love the content learned so much about the country in which i live - don't get out much-wish i could do what you do looks so fun - a lot of hard work - always amazing- go carpetbagger go!
What an interesting place, I'm glad someone has purchased it to keep it going. I have not seen one of those coin operated ferris wheels since i was a kid wow! Thanks for sharing.
Your so amazingly awesome? You always find different place that I haven't been to? Christmas is my favorite holiday? Keep doing amazing things? Love your videos?
Jacob, I have been a follower for years, watching you & your channel grow. I see you had to make a big career decision... •I love how you involve your family. Your son with his music... banjo... just beautiful....and so is your daughter & wife. •I am now a contributor every month...plus buying your “concert” shirt!🙌😜👍 God Bless🙏 •Much respect for the Great informative work you continue to do✊💯
I want to reserve that wet picnic table for...well...someday when it's hot. I'm so glad I discovered your channel. These old roadside attractions bring back memories of traveling with family as a kid; these are the kinds of places we'd stop at...when we could get my dad to stop at all. 😉 Could you revisit a Stuckey's sometime? Open, closed, abandoned, I don't care. I just haven't seen one in about 50 years (no joke) and they bring back my childhood to me. Love your videos -- you're funny, and sweet, and your vids are a great way to start my day.
To me, it looks to have been in "off season" for at least a decade. But the animals and birds look healthy and well-fed, so it's NOT abandoned. Jacob's epilogue explains a lot, really.
I must say the late Mr. Lee seemed to have a talent for repurposing. It's an old school type park, but the younger children should enjoy it. Kudos and best of luck to the new owner.
Thanks for your tag at the end. I hope he is able to get community funding to do a complete renovation and refurbishment of the park. It's quaint and folksy, not high gloss like the major there parks. It has potential.
Check out wonder cave just outside monteagle tn. It is permanently closed but still beautiful. We flew our drone around but we're not very good with it. You could get some great views with yours.
I drive a truck and see a lot of neat places I would love to check out, but it's hard to park this big bitch lol. I'll just live vicariously through you
Awesome find I love places like that. How can I get a carpet bagger pressed penny? I collect them, I have one from every place I’ve visited thru the years
Too bad you didn't visit Hidden Hollor when Arda Lee was living....he kept the place clean....grass cut, painted things painted, and the BIG water Wheel ALWAYS had water on it and it was moving......We all worried what would happen to the place.....i am happy it is stil there....but sad not much in improvemnets have taken place....Oh..they did add the pitch putt course
very neat place.but do hope he is going to do some work to it because i seen alot of rust like on that slide and so forth looked alittle dangerous for kids..but if some work done to it would be a neat place
In the late 1970s Arda had "a vision from God" telling him to build the park.[2] The features included a 50-foot (15 m)-tall cross illuminated by more than 40 90-watt floodlights, a fishing and swimming pond, a petting zoo, volleyball courts, playgrounds and picnic areas, and a stuffed deer named "Dee Dee". The attractions on the property were by and large self-made, and could even be considered outsider art
Hi Jacob this is an amazing video of one man's work I wonder Jacob could you win a game of putt putt if your brother was there to play ?? I see that you are a hit with the hens lol thanks for sharing this with us :)
Ok carpetbagger later on in the future I wanna see u go to aushitz for a vlog ik it’s not in America so big trip planning but that’s the only place I wanna see u go
I'm always amazed at a person creating their desires and dreams. Even if it's not something I'm into I still have to admire it.

This place would be amazing with some refixing, painting, and reorganizing....

Uncle Ardie was my great uncle. Greetings!
I’d be terrified of a parent suing because their child got a slight scrape from the old climbing frames. People are awful

Dont be rude. Even If they have issues with grammar, you shouldn't be mean about it.
What a cool place!! Love the picnic table in the waterfall, I’d totally eat on that, lol!

Wow I remember riding one of those clown mini Ferris wheels! So cool to see one again!
Your so amazingly awesome? You always find different place that I haven't been to? Christmas is my favorite holiday? Keep doing amazing things? Love your videos?
i love this kind of eccentricity, thanks for the post
Really cool place Jacob!! Thank you for showing us around! ~~Laura

Wow, what could be more inviting than going down that rusty old slide into that murky, algae-infested water?
Thats a pretty neat place for sure
Wow what an interesting and unique find! Thanks for taking us along Jacob! 😎

Red Bats .LOL got us for sure . Cool place .
It really didnt look like it was ready for people. Neat place. Loved the peacock very unusual. Keep Safe❤Keep Well❤
Very amusing ( get it) area for kids. Glad it was retained.
That's awesome!! Hope to see it Christmas time !
You did a chapstick review, you're a beauty guru now lol!
Lovely and sad at the same time.
You are doing a great job. wow!
Is it just me or does this look abandoned?
@saintquinn007 Easter Sunday is a few days away. This place doesn't even look close to be opening then.
To me, it looks to have been in "off season" for at least a decade. But the animals and birds look healthy and well-fed, so it's NOT abandoned. Jacob's epilogue explains a lot, really.
For sure is not been maintained in a long time.
Maybe just open for the Christmas season?
How can it be abandoned when there are animals in cages? They’re not dead
Cool, never heard of this place. I live close enough to check it out around Christmas if they open up, 1 more thing you've added to my list.
This is in my Town. Back in the day this place was way better then it is now.
Thank you for all the great, interesting videos.
Very nice video thanks for sharing.
Jacob, y'all have some cool places in Tennessee! Places I'll never get to visit because, I have no way. Really enjoyed your video!
Hi Jacob great vlog on cookville, Tennessee. Sorry I have been spring cleaning I will always give you a thumbs up 👍🏻😺
I must say the late Mr. Lee seemed to have a talent for repurposing. It's an old school type park, but the younger children should enjoy it. Kudos and best of luck to the new owner.
This one is in the bag
Awesome! You seem headed for Gatlinburg again. I'll be there next week!
Fascinating video, the location didn't look real safe for the kiddies.
A little run down but it looks like an awesome place. I would have loved to go here as a kid.
That Coin wheel should be the answer to all today's marital problems!...
In terms of Amusement Parks~Super Ghetto/SUPER COOL!!!...Great Job CP
Cool place Jacob
Like the metal petting zoo !
I've not gone recently and hate that park. When I was a boy it was my favorite place in the world.
Nice Video Jacob❤️❤️
This is amazing, let me know when it's ready for Harvest Hosts lol
Best place. Thanks
Love your channel keep up the good work
Bagger, I so enjoyed this. What a nice place to have a picnic. C from the little haunted cottage in Ireland 🍀🍀🍀👻👻👻
Great find !!
Great Wednesday morning vlog today
Amazing ☺
Thanks for your tag at the end. I hope he is able to get community funding to do a complete renovation and refurbishment of the park. It's quaint and folksy, not high gloss like the major there parks. It has potential.
I used to go there all the time when I went to school in Cookeville.
Dude this is where I live so cool!
OH darn, you woke up the duck.
Great video 👍
Cool video
I really enjoy your videos
There is a lot of algae in that pond, don’t think I would want to jump in
I did as a kid and I nearly drowned lol
Lol those “chickens” look like doves 😂
We learned the Purple Cow poem in school. The sign at this amusement park doesn't have it quite right, but close enough, I guess.
That would make a good horror movie setting. Not sure I would bring a kid there.
I bet the only one who disliked it was Mortimer. I bet Jacob will take him out with his "Punishing Pith" and "Protective Oppossum."
Love that place I went to college in cookeville I worked there some
Those were Doves not chickens hun in the pen the white ones. What a great place hidden off the beaten path. Wonderful video Jacob !! Good find !! 😊
I was saying the same thing! Those are doves Jacob, not chickens! I had a good chuckle!
Check out wonder cave just outside monteagle tn. It is permanently closed but still beautiful. We flew our drone around but we're not very good with it. You could get some great views with yours.

Would be cool if you went back around Christmas.
DIY park seems like a cool idea, if you know what you're doing.

I lived in Cookeville for almost 5 years and never even knew that place existed!
Charming! But really needs a fix up. :)
Use to go here a lot as a kid
cool place, I prefer places like this vs disney
That cross is visible from I-40.
lol.. "can I pet you?"
Love the story at 6:39 pause it to read!
Them wasn't little white chickens. Lol.
They were white doves I think?
Here's Jacob, just hanging out with some chicks. Cool.
Hi Jacob this is an amazing video of one man's work I wonder Jacob could you win a game of putt putt if your brother was there to play ?? I see that you are a hit with the hens lol thanks for sharing this with us :)
cute place
You should go to Corbin Kentucky and film the birthplace of KFC
I was just envisioning sitting at that waterfall picnic table with a bucket of KFC. 😊
Ok carpetbagger later on in the future I wanna see u go to aushitz for a vlog ik it’s not in America so big trip planning but that’s the only place I wanna see u go
Those white "chickens" looked an awful lot like doves to me
I was waiting for a 87yr old woman to come out of nowhere and chase you out of there with her cane
They had tons of stuff.
Have you ever been to the Garden of Eden in Lucas, Kansas? If not, you should DEFINITELY check it out.
I want to go!
House on the rock it's in Wisconsin and it's really amazing and creepy lol
That's the most depressing theme park I've ever seen! Free tetanus shot with paid admission!
That was a very cool stop man. I love to see that stuff. Please go around Christmas. That would rock jacob. Thanks. Ed.
I want to live here.
