Probably a combination of things. With the internet/technology in nearly everyones homes we don’t need to remember as much as before even simple math or spelling.
Yes, but it's important to note that simply remembering is not an indication of intelligence. Moreover, we don't really know how to measure intelligence anyway, so yeah

I think intelligence is a product of necessity, when the romans invented much of the things we still use today as far as mechanical engineering is concerned it was essential because they needed to do this in order to survive, during ww2 the last brilliant physicists who changed textbooks was Einstein it was done out of necessity to survive. The more people are challenged the brighter we become that's why I feel like politics and views are becoming so disturbing because the iq is declining
Yeah, I do believe that the pressure we felt during wars had some kind of influence on our technological innovation. I've always wondered whether war makes us intelligent.
IQ doesn’t work that way (evolve on such a rapid basis). There is some evidence that the further away from the equator the higher IQ but this is effect ocurrs over thousands of years of evolution. Those who lived near the equator had to expend much more effort to obtain resources. Those in more harsh climates had to plan much more and this provided a selective pressure and gave rise to higher IQ. This didn't happen because of one stressful situation for a couple of years!
