@adrenochrome addict there doesn't exist one iq. There's an iq for everything, and it is never already determined when you're born. Your life makes your iqs. There isn't any smart or dumb, there are different capabilities and disabilities, an endless number of them. This video is just non sense, as all iq tests on the internet are because there doesn't exist one value for your intelligence that can determine which is the "smarter" person, there are endless values that can measure the capabilities of a person doing a very precise and specific act.
@@jacksonrelaxin3425 bipolar people tend to have higher iqs. Iq is your ability to sense patterns and your overall intelligence (this doesn't necessarily mean knowledge). People w bpd often are able to sense patterns better (for example) like how people who manage their bpd better can sense patterns more in their highs and lows. It's been a bit since I read up on it but that's basically what I remember

I could be diagnosed with bi-polar if I wanted to but I’d rather not let some asshole in a chair define who I am, and I’m not gonna let this world treat me like a broken cow who’s stopped producing milk for the masses. The Down’s Syndrome one makes me sad because, when I was in first grade, one of my friends had Down’s Syndrome, and, despite us being in a special ed class, he seemed to be the only kid in that class who understood me, and vise-versa. The other kids would treat him like a baby, but I would treat him as an equal. In turn, he helped me through meltdowns by keeping me company. I would often hide under my desk when having a meltdown/anxiety attack and, one time, he took his work under his own desk, which was next to mine, so that he could sit next to me while I was down there. I hope that he goes far in life despite his disability and I especially hope that more people have recognized what a great person he is. Edit: I just saw the “higher emotional intelligence” one. That definitely checks out.
He showed empathy (which is intelligence) The others just didn't show it. You can't tell who really had greater emotional ability. What you checked for sure is who was more kind. It is possible that the others had high skills in understanding emotions. But they were just selfish.

Almost no one if anyone has ever reached their maximum potential. I wonder what all would happen if hundreds of organisms were created in a lab, each get a simulated world of their own, ensured that their progress remains maximum, and the next one has 1 IQ point higher than the previous one. It would be fascinating to see what each whole number IQ point between 0 and 501 would be capable of.
You realise, 501 is LITERALLY impossible even with every human on earth right? Considering with a SD of 15 only 0.1 of the population has an IQ of 145+. For the rest, think about this. The highest IQ in 6.3 people? 115 SD 15. The highest IQ in 43.95 people? 130 SD 15. The highest IQ in 740.79 people? 145 SD 15. The highest IQ in 31,574.38 people? 160 SD 15. The highest IQ in 1,013,594,634.89 people? 190 SD 15. I have a 148iq certified and it sucks extremely. I've felt terribly lonely my whole life. You're always different from everyone else. You hardly fit in anywhere so you shut yourself off to the book world and the only people who understand you or even come close are extremely rare. I have three of them, two of them being college professors which only reinforces the feeling that you can never find your other half because, no offense, she's just slower than you which results in a permanent sense of frustration. It sucks so bad because you know you have potential that others don't which makes you try to take advantage of it and every time you start to relax you feel like you're wasting a gift that was given to you without any previous merit. Personally, I observe frequent depression that comes not only from the feeling of loneliness, material misunderstanding, but also from the pervasive prejudice against intelligent people, the one I encounter most often is: you are smart and therefore you cannot make mistakes or bad decisions and if you do it is taken quite differently from individuals with lower IQ. But it has its advantages I won't lie. For example, you learn a lot of things faster and with less effort than others if you try.

I had the result of having an IQ of around 115, still many of the lower IQ characteristics still apply to me. Just so you guys know, no, that online IQ test you took that was “certified” is not an accurate reflection of your IQ. Those tests notoriously give massively inflated results to make you pay for the “detailed report”. Sorry to burst your bubble.
As someone who messed with online IQs only cuz I was in the mood for mind games, I did spot some that request email, a price, or gives a range to my score instead of a specific number. I honestly didn't care and continued playing around. This was a few years ago. I haven't messed with online IQ tests in a while nor am I interested atm.
I did 2 iq tests with psycologists along with some internet quick tests and i have around 130 points, though I always knew i had better cognitive skills than most people around me. School subjects are really easy for me, but I also like to dig more on the things I learn and try to improve my capabilities. This video is mostly true; I related with the loneliness that often comes with the high points, even since childhood. Maybe its because people have different interests than me, or sutile actions that I might be doing without realizing, but I feel deeply disconnected from eveyone. I always think about how easily they can make bounds with each other and share their lives, and ask to myself why I am not capable of doing the same. I do sometimes have small conversations, but everyone already has their old group of friends and I just can't see myself fitting on the social circle. After all, I would'nt be able to say I had a real friend in my life.
I had two tests - one with a psychologist, showing I had an IQ of 121, another one online showing one of 128. And I definitely can relate to the „no small talk“ attitude
I had pretty much the same. Was "diagnosed" with 120ish IQ in multiple tests. Was never good at small talk. But it turns out, this was just because I never had much experience with it. I did some learning on that topic and now im decent at small talk. Dont let the IQ be an excuse. Most of this social skills just need practice.
@@TheHolladiewaldfeee As long as the smalltalk is a means to get to know someone, to gain their trust, and to share an important topic with them (e. g. share the Gospel with them), I agree. Other than that, I don't see the point in small talk.

Grades and IQ don't really matter so much. Take Chess as an example, Hikaru Nakamura and Levy Rozman both got 102 on the IQ tests and chess is a game that you need to be really smart to get good at, calculating the moves and what would happen, leave people thinking that needs a high IQ. Or many succesfull people have become succesful with only a C grade, or a very low GPA.
Chess play structuration can be related to maths. It's not about being smart - very few things are about being smart ; a chess player is not necessarily smarter than a footballer -, it's entirely about practice and a certain type of analysis (that last condition explains why some people may naturally have more ease with it).
Agreed, iq is of different types. An easy example is goku from dragon ball z, he may not be the smartest in terms of intelligence but his muscle memory and stuff is off the charts, i have read having faster reflexes may mean u have higher iq. @@RevulsionMusic It is not crazy, given that you have the gift of internet access and likely come from a richer family. IQ increases over generations (read up on the Flynn effect) and an IQ of 138 will be considered normal in approx 50 years. Whoever created the IQ tests online have their own experienced levels of education, same with people irl who give you IQ tests (who are psychologists). I'm diagnosed with inattentive ADHD and I've taken the two most accurate online iq tests and got 140 on both of them, of course online can be innacurate but I really don't care enough to get one done in person. I take adderall daily and I know I would've done worse on the tests if I hadnt been on it! Before I got diagnosed and prescribed meds I was so, so bad in math because I had no interest in it whatsoever, while I would do great in english and social studies. I think people like us with ADHD have a high capacity for intelligence but are limited to only putting that intelligence to the few things that really interest us, unless we take meds and that helps us do things we don't normally have the motivation to focus on. No one asked for this but here: According to my psychology professor, there are 9 different kinds of intelligences a person can posses (ex: mathematical, musical, kinesthetic, academic…). The IQ test measures a very narrow range of these intelligences, is often tailored to native English speakers, and wasn’t ever intended to be used as a placement of intelligence. The IQ test was invented by a French professor who taught special needs students; this test was to give him an idea on how he can teach his students, not to compare them to others. There is also a formula to find your IQ: (your mental age / your actual age) * 100. Which explains why 100 is average (20/20)*100=100.
The 9 intelligences is theory created by Howard Gardner and its called theory of multiple intelligences. But it is just one theory and it is also criticised. The formula you wrote is the original formula, that is not used anymore. Nowadays, the deviation IQ is used in IQ tests, which works differently
The analogy that I always tell my students is that the brain is like a computer. IQ is the hardware of the computer, processing power, RAM, etc. What you apply it to and the skills you learn are like the software installed on the computer. So IQ is not the end all determinate of success. Things like work-ethic, passion, ambition, and social skills all factor in to success. I have a tested IQ of 142 and there are pros and cons that go with it. I learn things incredibly quickly, can figure things out and problem solve better than most people, can memorize ridiculous amounts of information, and can usually get good at anything I put my mind to. On the other side, I have no work ethic because I never needed one, I’m terribly impatient and easily frustrated by others because they can’t do things at my speed, and despise conversations that don’t have a purpose (small talk and things like that). So at the end of the day, I just view IQ as another part of who we are and not as something that makes anyone better or worse than anyone else.
Yes. Just like height. But people also look down upon (pun intended) people who are exceptionally short or freakishly tall. People, as a group, don't like those who don't fit the group.
@@kevincaruthers5412 I agree with you 100%! That is a very great observation and also a fault that many people exhibit! We all matter, we are all valuable, each of us is a miracle and worthy of all the good things that this Earth and Universe provides!
Also, you should know that a high IQ score doesn’t always mean you are hyper intelligent, for exemple, you can have 140 without having the positive part of having a high IQ (I have 160 and I can tell you than im not Einstein.)
I can really tell this person knows what they're talking about. I especially loved how at 1:50 the image for ADHD says "ADAH". I sure do love having Alabama Department of Archives and History. And also holy shit I must be super intelligent, I can tell what object is moving faster. On a side note I find it very interesting that the father of the world's highest IQ scoring person of all time worked incredibly closely with the guy that made the 10% theory. I find it pretty damn interesting that while that theory has been disproven, someone so closely connected to the man that came up with it was so incredibly intelligent. btw I'm talking about William james sidis not Marilyn Vos Savant because from what I am aware of guinness didn't include William cause he died before the book was made.
I like how, according to this scale, if you have difficulties walking or talking, or just got no social life/asocial, no matter what, you're in the 23, 34, or 50, or 65 I.Q range. XD
This isn’t saying that if you’re like that that’s your IQ, it’s saying that if that’s your IQ you’re like that. I know this probably makes no sense to you, but eh…
I think it can go waay further than this. It’s basically the ability to access and use the mind consciously. The higher levels would include doing several complex calculations and activities simultaneously like people in South India, being able to see with the mind clearly like Nikola Tesla, being able to see spirits and other higher frequencies of existence and so on.
1:09 I actually know someone with downsyndrom and I would say, that he is smarter. I consider him as one of the kindest persons I've ever met and as a good friend. Many people do not really like him, because he is different (because of his Syndrom) but I don’t fucking care. He is a kind person and deserves respect and tolerance. He is human as we all are. And that is what counts!
I appreciate your comment! High IQ is not the "End all be all" that some may think of it. What really matters is how we treat and respect one another as humans who share this fragile existence.
Facts I have 250 iq and have a hard time existing because I can’t stop thinking. Tasks like walking have become harder due to the amount of information I gather as I take a step, I am fluent in over 300 languages so talking is also difficult as I always manage to pick up a new language every time I speak.
Fun fact: An IQ test can only be accurate if our entire world population takes the same IQ test.

@@yomomma7675 “BPD” is borderline personality disorder, not bi-polar. Either way, there’s no way to verify that a bi polar or borderline person will automatically have a 139 IQ- that’s ridiculously high.

@@ar-xm1hc I completely agree, generalization is sometimes incorrect, but what I want to say is that the video is correct *statistically*. I'm not saying that high IQ people are all introverts or have mental issues, but that, statiscally, those individuals are more likely to have those problems.

Some study I read from way back when said if there is a difference in the speaker's and the listener's IQ of more than 20 points, communication becomes difficult.
I think that explains the higher IQ people having difficulty connecting to others.
Well my bestie’s dad explained the movie Inception to her and she understood. They had an IQ difference of 36 points. Her 119, her dad 155.
She told me on Monday last week
🪩In fact, there is a way to bridge the equal to or more than 20 IQ difference between the speaker and listener.
The way is to explain the concept using words the listener understands
This is only possible if the speaker is right there with the listener or they know the listener.
Or the speaker and listener are both quite intelligent
@@amethyst1062 Yep. I have gotten in trouble many times for asking what the listener's education level / background is.
Just so I would know how to phrase my argument.
20 points seems quite narrow; it means even someone with average iq can only communicate with 82% of people without difficulty
Not sure if I’m really high or moderately low on the spectrum. I’m definitely not normal and I struggle with common sense in some of the simplest tasks. It’s hard for me to listen to someone speak and really process what they’re saying until it’s too late. It becomes difficult to speak to people outside of a couple individuals sometimes and there have been many days after class when I think about suicide because I’m embarrassed of what other people think about me messing up all of the time and my lack of awareness. One day, I’ll think about dropping out of college and then I think about sticking around because I’m not sure what else there is to do but keep studying because I’m not sure what other jobs I would be competent enough to work.
I am exactly the same. You may have Asperger's syndrome. It's really fine just put as much work as you can in college, maybe request to be examined verbally.

having a high iq doesnt necessarily mean you're smarter. it means you can pick up/learn things much faster and better. babies learn languages simply by listening, observing, and trying to understand how people talk to each other. they cant understand 6th or any level of math yet because they still dont understand how math or numbers work. but later in life once you teach them how, then they'll be able to understand math because their iq is high enough for them to learn 6th grade math that only requires 70 iq

Mine is 137 (I went through actual proctored tests) and I've suffered depression all my life. I also don't like people very much.
i've taken a few online tests and some of the results were either really low (having a higher education, i don't think i have 70) or too high (i think i would do better in life with 140 than i do now) so i think 109 is probably the most realistic one i had
Higher education would suggest you got around 130
Whoever created the IQ tests online have their own experienced levels of education, same with people irl who give you IQ tests (who are psychologists). They're trained to operate IQ tests a certain way and have their views of what may or may not be flawed. This explains the different IQ scores individuals experience, whether at once or over time. Our score aligns to the education level of the test and it compares to our fondness with the tested topics. Though we do share some ideals and beliefs, we also naturally believe and perceive some things differently and it may impact what could change IQ tests.

School is a form of mass training to produce workers. School grades and college have nothing to do with IQ.
I'm diagnosed with inattentive ADHD and I've taken the two most accurate online iq tests and got 140 on both of them, of course online can be innacurate but I really don't care enough to get one done in person. I take adderall daily and I know I would've done worse on the tests if I hadnt been on it! Not that I would be less intelligent, but that it would've been a lot harder to focus on the test and therefore think through the questions. It's like we got buffed and then nerfed for balancing lol

@@Thomas-im2tkhello again
@Thomas-im2tk Are those points made in the video something that can be authenticated as being accurate?
No one asked for this but here:
According to my psychology professor, there are 9 different kinds of intelligences a person can posses (ex: mathematical, musical, kinesthetic, academic…).
So my IQ is 264 (37÷14)×100=246
*264
The 9 intelligences is theory created by Howard Gardner and its called theory of multiple intelligences. But it is just one theory and it is also criticised. The formula you wrote is the original formula, that is not used anymore. Nowadays, the deviation IQ is used in IQ tests, which works differently
according to this formula, my IQ is 391.7

The IQ of a baby is 100? If you believe that then you don’t understand what IQ actually is.
