- 518 horsepower and 0-62 mph in 3.4 seconds! Exclusive video of Totem automobili's prototype electric retromod Alfa Romeo GT Electric. Italian style meets modern technology to create one of the most exciting EV projects around. The finished model will feature the McFly sound and vibration emulation system to replicate the emotions of the original classic petrol Giulia of the 70s.
Only 20 will be made, say Totem, at €430,000 each.

Totem automobili doesnt really exist: he is a guy who asked money to somebody to pay somebody else to make the job. For the half of the money you can craft to craft your own car in the same way, or even better, asking ti some artisan
@@kirian83 he is a guy ho has an idear and did everything to realize his dream .. surely with help of "somebody" because not everybody got the chance, know how and possibilety to create something like this in this form. You Are??? so do it and proof it to us that you can build this for 200k without help of "somebody" in the same quality and style .. so, he did exactly what you are saying, asking a artisan .. and the result was so great that other people want it to .. so he offers his dream car to people ho want it to and can afford it .. 430 to 500K are to much money! im with you, the most of us ho like this car cant afford it, but we cant afford it even it was 200K 🤷♂️
If and when I’ll want a car without emotion I’ll go for it but for now I’m happy with my Gtv .😍 20 years of marriage and we’re still going strong!!!

Old Alfas, GTV 1750s,2000s GT, Sprints from 60s'70s are my absolute favourite. I wish they showed more of the driving without the music. I am very curious about how they sound, handle, speed etc.
I have been owning and driving Alfa since I got my driving licence when I attain 18 years 'this is Malaysian road transport licence Act. From 1600 guila alfa sud 1500 GT, sprint and, alfetta 2000 to gtv, it is the twin cam Roar of pure Italian engine sound, that define the adrenalin rush from the rest of the pack. YOU HAVE JUST KILLED THAT FAMOUS ITALIAN ROAR!!!!!

I have owned and ridden a lot of bikes in my time the closest we got on petrol bikes was the Blackbird, the Busa and the BMW K1300S, now if these companies are clever and technology goes forward as historically as the last 100 years, I might own one😉👍🏻

While feeling nostalgic, the innovative design is very favorable. If it is released with an internal combustion engine and a hybrid as well as an EV, I would like to make it a candidate for a car to buy.

@Keep on Tri-ing! My only guess why would be because, the Italians are very passionate about their cars and one of the most important elements is the sound it makes. I doubt any true classic Alfa lover would even be interested in this.

So would we, Don. We hope to get a proper review done when it's all properly implemented. But we HAVE seen (heard) the McFly emulation technology in action on the EMULA e-motorbike and we'll post the video very soon! Spoiler alert: It's pretty mindblowing :-)

I just listened to the "engine sound" on their website. This is sooo fake. And the sound sample seems to be horrible compressed. Please use a new ev sound like the Porsche Taycan. Otherwise it is just blasphemy

on design, I think you are indeed right. Both Disco Volante and this are on par.
There is no reason this car should cost more than $25,000 (us). And there is no reason they couldn't sell MILLIONS of them.
They are handcrafted from scratch, entirely handmade, they are not obtained from old Giulia GT. There is both an electric model and one with a combustion engine, the same as the Alfa GTAm, the V6 with over 600 HP. Each component was designed, tested and built by a company made up of 30 people: Totem Automobili.
You will never find the materials used in this machine in a 25k dollar machine, at that price it would be called Ford Pinto.

I may have just found a replacement for my Giulia Quadrifoglio:-)
Call me old fashioned, but a car like that needs a real I-4 or small V6 (with carburetors, naturally), not synthesized sounds and far too much power. Throttle House did a review of a GTV in July (2020) and it's really cannot exist properly without an internal combustion engine.
Beautifull but not big seler with this huge price.It would be nice to see this car in more modest form with 2.0tb petrol from Giulia and with reasonable price.

the only emotion i felt when i saw the price was nausea
the price is so high. but this car will be produced in just 50 units, it will be a very rare car. whoever buys it already knows that its value will double in a few months. and a safe investment let's say. for example, the new giulia gta, was produced in 1000 copies, of which 500 in gta version and 500 in gtam version. list price 185,000 euros. obviously they have all already been sold. 3 of these were bought by speculators who immediately put them back on sale for 250,000 euros. those who have not managed to buy it new from alfa romeo will easily pay the 250,000 to get one of the 3 for sale. in fact there is only one left in just a week.

Very good idea to combine classic car with electric engine. But 430k € it’s a real joke. With 430k I will by a nice apartment and with the difference I will buy a real classic car with a real legacy even if it’s with a petrol engine.
I am a hardcore Alfisto. I like the car, I really do. But some stuff is a bit OTT. The seats, the wide body. How about a fairly original GTA look (with all the cool features like the alloy cap cover for the charching plug). But without the futuristic stuff? And for a more decent price tag. At 100k, this would sell like hot cake.

When you are selling it on after a few years of ownership you will have to find a buyer your exact size. Why does it have to cost €430,000 to produce?
... and then when everyone owned an electric car the Power Stations suddenly could not cope with the demand and everyone had to go back to petrol. Luckily there just happened to be massive stockpiles of petrol all around the world.
