    Thanks so much, Phil and Mynda! I am hoping you would be able to give me some hints on how I can do the maps by region in NSW only. I need to represent the map for NSW which includes 7 regions: Greater Sydney, Hunter, North Eastern, South Eastern, North Western, South Western and Western. Thank you.

    Amazing!! I have just enabled Power BI, so I will start off with UK maps. It takes me back. My first use of Pivot was to sort out historic sales data into sales territories when I was sales director for Wayne Kerr. I wanted to assess if the sale persons targets were fair by looking at the historic order book. If I had access to a map back then, my MD might have had half a chance of understanding what I was doing. I went ahead in any case----!

      @@MyOnlineTrainingHub At 6:07 you discuss how to get the conditional formatting to sync between the map and the table, by putting the max/min value for Shape Map. New version of shape map already puts the max/min value BUT this does not sync it with slicers anymore.
      UPDATE - OK, so it's one of those strange things where if you remove the max/min numbers, and then enter them again, the colour sync works. Hope this helps new users

    Regarding color coding - what if there is more of categories I'd need to show? I'm currently working on a project that might have up to 15 different categories which should be shown on custom shape map. Is there an option to do this, or should I look for some other than shape map solution?

    I am grateful for the work you do and Many thanks for the great lesson. On this lesson I was expecting to see the legend on the side of the map that show the saturation on the map. so is it possible to have a foot note or key legend on the side of the map to show the density of population that match the color on the map description? i was doing similar visual but could not figure it out on the shape map. Thanks1

    • @MyOnlineTrainingHub
      @MyOnlineTrainingHub  3 года назад +1

      There aren't any labels for the map, which is why we add a table. In practice the map won't generally be on its own. It'll be used in conjunction with other visuals which will give you that missing information like state/territory names.

    You actually DID NOT share the file. That can be uploaded to POWER BI. This is simply a demonstration.
