    Thanks Millo! Have you ever thought about creating an advanced composition course for anyone who uses Fusion?

    A little bit technical, but it makes me stretch and I love your accent! I'll be tuning in more. Thanks for sharing, Millolab!

    Your content is absolutely amazing. As someone who has ditched AE and is going all-in to learining Fusion as my main compositing tool, your videos have been incredibly helpful!
    On another note, I have a piece of green screen footage that I'm compositing onto a CG background. It's a fairly simple shot, just a closeup shot of a head, locked off tripod, and a relatively clean lit green screen. I'm not sure if it's user error, but I've tried what feels like dozens of different keying techniques, including all the ones you've taught on your YT page, but there's a portion of the shot that I just absolutely can NOT pull a clean key. More specifically, I can get a very detailed alpha keyed out, but what I'm struggling with is managing the green fringe in the hair on only one specific part of the subject's head.
    This might be incredibly inapprorpiate to ask here, but if you ever had any time to possibly take a look at the footage (along with the CG background), I would be eternally grateful to see how you would approach the problematic area in question. I could even pay you for your time! If that's not possible I 100% understand and absolutley no worries!

    The beginning of the method 2, reminds me a in a way the additive keying technique in Nuke, using grade nodes. I am happy to see alternative techniques also being used in Fusion, this makes it a very affordable and equally good option instead of Nuke. Many thanks for this amazing tutorial! Keep up the great work!

    So the concept of the first technique is: Use an algo for neutralizing green and subtract this from the original, to get a 'pure green' and from this create a Matte? That would mean that the quality of the despill/neutralize algorithm dictates the quality of the matte? If I use a simple (or not-so-elegant) algo for despilling, I would get a worse result with this technique?
    I love those in depth tutorials! Also, love your excellent presentation!
    Off topic:
    Is there any temporal median filtering node for Fusion? Temporal mean exists, but temporal median?
    Cheers!

    wonderful info as always emilio.. just have one doubt.. in the first method how can we export the alpha matte with that method. any possible way to extarct clean black and white alpha ?

    • @millolab
      @millolab 2 года назад

      having a clean black and white alpha is not really the point. The first Keying technique is for soft keying.

    Grazie Millo, fantastico tutorial. What if the original footage is log or if I need to compost with advanced grading in Resolve? Sei bravissimo!

    • @MillolabTuts
      @MillolabTuts  Год назад

      I'd try to always key in Linear first. You can key in Log, but it's a matter of what the footage looks like. In Fusion, use an OCIO colourspace transform or CineonLog + Gamutnodes (or the colourspace transform node in resolve) to go from log to linear. Grading always happen AFTER compositing. You can Key in Linear, composite the Background and move the compositing back to the original Log.
