Another great insight into extreme temperature and very deep snow efforts and survival. Your introduction text describes this perfectly. I love the recessed fire that gives wind protection and instant cooking stick holdings. It seems that you can't have much fire heat to warm you whilst sleeping in this shelter or you would melt the snow roof and sides. Your clothing and reindeer skin look very practical and your nice mechanical pocket watch shown is interesting. Have you had watch failures in those extreme temperatures? Thanks again for your efforts to record and share your experience of a completely different world to mine. Suggestions...? Not really but,... Maybe discuss any need for draining channels around your sleeping mat? Take 3x the instant and long term carbs (sugar, pasta, etc) you think for the extremely high calorie use? I'd love to see what you could do with building snow blocks or digging underneath snow for an igloo dome. (Edit: I have now watched your video on that - "Building bushcraft survival winter shelter | Christmas in the snowy woods" - Well done!)

The watch is in my pocket, it is not exposed to the cold, and works fine, my clothes are designed for minus 30 degrees, and I don’t need a fire to sleep peacefully and not freeze.. I try not to consume sugar, but manufacturers add it to all products. You are right Dried fruits are a good way to get natural energy ! The main thing is to spend this energy, otherwise it will be stored as fatReindeer skin is an excellent insulator of cold from below, but there is one drawback: it is very heavy, about 2 kilograms. For a hike without filming, I would take a camping mat that weighs nothing; but art requires sacrifice.

-4° and the dude is baiting his hook and fishing with no gloves. His fingers don't even appear to be cold, even after he grips a wet fish. When he's preparing his supper, he also wears no gloves. I think he stuck his thermometer underneath the snow to give off the impression that the weather was colder than it actually was.
@@AgeofBushcraft Your barehands were exposed in -20°C weather. Why don't you give instructions on how you kept your fingers from freezing, Mister Bushcraft? It really wasn't -20° C, was it? A temperature of 0 degrees celsius is cold too, but it's a lot more plausible. You don't have to lie about the "sub-arctic" weather you had to endure, like you're some kind of superman, just be honest.
@@Eadbhard Sometimes it happens that the fire emits heat, and if you do something near the fire with your bare hands, they will not freeze. If you watched the video again, you would see that the fish I caught was frozen like a stone, what 0 degrees could it be?
@@AgeofBushcraft 32° F is freezing; however, people could probably go out in such weather with exposed hands for an hour, more or less, before they'd have to warm their fingers. Single digit temperatures (9° to 1°) are brutally cold. A person who wears no gloves or mittens in that kind of frigid air, would not last long. Now, temperatures below 0° are ridiculously freezing. Exposed fingers, noses, and ears will become frostbitten within 20 minutes; yet, for all of that, there you are, in minus 4° F temperatures, baiting a hook and fishing with no gloves or mittens. At one point you even grab a wet, cold, frosty fish with your barehand, yet the "- 4°" temperature seemingly have no affect on you. Sure, a fire would ward of that arctic chill, but it would still be fuggin' cold! Nowhere in this video do you ever appear to be cold, and for the greater part of the video, you are wearing no gloves or mittens. If you're going to exaggerate how cold the weather is in your video, you should - at least - ACT like your cold in order to make the video more believable. Cut the bullcrap, Mister Bushcraft. You might be able to fool others, but you don't fool me.
