Great video as always Pharraway with all the info you could want to get the job done, fiberglass can be a right pain to paint as more often than not it will be an aftermarket alternative to a OEM panel so the quality it not always the best and need a lot of prep work but the ones you have there look to be pretty good, a good high build and blocking and you should be good to go👌🙏👍

Thank you for this video. I was doing my research on painting fiberglass with primer and came across another one of your great videos. I was a little confused about sanding the white gel coat. Do I sand with 220 to get a good level scuff or completely remove the gel?

Quick question for you man, I am doing an old fiberglass boat, doing gelcoat on the hull and was thinking about painting the deck, 15 feet long 1966 glastron, and was considering auto paint then, multiple coats of clear adding metal flake to the clear to get the factory finish, what are your thoughts, I will be working with my brother in law who will do the spraying.

Nice video! I fibreglassed a small boat that I built. I want to paint it with marine paint … regular stuff, not gel coat. I guess I need a primer especially developed for fiberglass … right? I can’t just sand and put the paint on, can I? If so, what is a good primer that I can brush on?

If these are new panels wouldn't they be straight? wouldn't it be easier to sand with 400, seal and paint? thanks in advance

Damn I own a 1990 DA integra and basically entire car is fiber glass now cuz of my kit but my fiber glass is much thinner than this one your working on, would all the methods your going work for me or should I be more careful sanding cuz of this thinness
