Mart was a lovely man and my late wife and I had the good fortune to see him and Manchester Jazz many times. The haunting sound of I believe in Rainbows, is up there with Acker Bilk’s Stranger on the Shore. Thanks Colin for writing such a lovely melody, it soothes me more than any medicine could. Rest in Peace Mart.

I come back to this video so often. It revives me when I'm low, it keeps me going when I struggle to move forward, it reminds me that sometimes beauty endures. Thanks Mart, thanks Pete, thanks to all those guys, but mostly, thanks Dad.

Hello. Eric's daughter here. Was also enjoying this whilst browsing for clips of my Dad (he isn't in this one but it's a lovely performance). My Dad recently died too. Sorry for your losses. Good that we have so much of them on video and record to remember them by x

@@jasontiemann6536 My dad, George Robinson, was one of the banjo players in, I think, a band called the Jazz Cardinals back in 50s Carlisle. He also knew Mick Potts and played in Mick's band, 'The Gateway Jazz Band' during the same period. I grew up hearing dad's stories about Colin 'Sycamore' Smith and other local characters . Dad is 82 now. I know that very sadly, Colin passed away recently. Best wishes, John
