      I agree, especially at close range and the matchmaking is so much faster, tried playing input based mm with kbam this morning and it took minutes to find a tdm match due to time of day, I switched to controller and got a match almost instantly, even with input based off on mouse, many controller players have input based on so you will still have a longer queue time on mnk

    Been playing keyboard and mouse for the past 4-5 years and playing on controller for the past 10+ years. I prefer keyboard and mouse on FPS Shooters mainly because of the feel and movement. But on XDefiant the mouse input doesn’t feel right. It feels more so “floaty” and inconsistent. Which is disappointing since MnK movement on XD Feels really nice but aiming just feels so weird. Any other game(s) I do not have these issues. So I decided to plug in my old reliable ps5 controller I have had since 2022. And ever since in the past 2 days I been dropping a lot more kills. 30+ kills in some matches even 40. Even had a game where I went on a 28 kill streak. I don’t know man but to me it feels as it is a controller game personally. Also great video on explaining the differences.

      I feel the same. I played this game with MnK for awhile. I was getting wrecked by controller players. I switched to play with MnK only and did much better. I decided to give controller a try and the first two games I was like 60-20. I had not had anything close to that with MnK.
      One of the biggest things I noticed was with controller ...once you get on target you pretty much get the kill. I was able to pull off 3-4 kills in a row with little effort. Whereas with MnK it is not as easy especially if the person your shooting at starting jumping around or is movie fast as hell lol.
      I will stick with MnK and have to accept that I am an average player so getting games with 30 plus kills is not going to happen often. I usually just get 12-18 kills a game with a shit load of assists because I can not finish my kills like with a controller. Also I am older (51) so I know my reflexes etc are not that great.
      I have had matches where I am trying my hardest and think surely I have like 30 kills because I am running around like crazy. Nope I have 21-10 or something like that and I am LAST or 2nd or 3rd to last. And the top 3 players will have like 30-50 kills.
      I was in one match the dude was like 65-12 ...I was like WTF how did this person even encounter 77 enemies!!?? Are they cheating or am I that bad at this game. LOL

      I think on this game movement is superior on keyboard bc there isn’t any controllers even the scuf etc that can respond as fast as a keyboard like the wooting he, BUT , I have noticed the mouse aiming is a little bit wonky I think bc the game was designed with controller in mind first and was only designed around 800dpi on the mouse and higher dpi results in some “pixel skipping” so what I started doing is I cut my dpi in half from 1600 to 800 and doubled my in game sense and it fixed it (still off sometimes when there’s desync but it feels much more precise)

      LMAOOOO I saw a post earlier of somebody said they like watching controller streamers more because it is more "impressive and exciting" some of these games truly do feel like they were designed for controller first when you compare the inputs and consider how mouse input feels messed up at higher dpi and polling rates (it feels like mouse was an afterthought honestly)

    As someone who mainly used MnK this game...controller is hands down better for hitting targets and KILLING. With MnK I can not keep track of targets. It is like I have to be full on point just to have decent matches.
    I like the movement of MnK but hate losing battles because I miss a few shots that with controller it will not happen.

    • @dartlinfps
      @dartlinfps  7 дней назад

      I agree, I think in the top of the top levels on this game controllers will reign supreme, it’s just the way the game was designed, it’s easier to hit moving targets, AR and recoil is def harder on controller but if somebody can master it I think they’ll get better results on here vs kbam where it feels like you have VERY little margin for error and you suffer from connection issues more it seems
      I also noticed if you are input based, controller gets matches WAY faster

      Every modern FPS game is made for consoles and controllers, it is what it is. Quake times or 2000s shooters are gone. People still play CS and Valorant, those are the MnK games. Not Warzone, xDefiant of Apex or any other upcoming shooter. Gaming changes with time.
      (altho valorant aim assist is crazy strong on console beta and if crossplay is a thing one day, I suspect everyone will migrate to controller too)

      I play with a mate whose is on controller. He is one of the best roller players I've seen and I can hardly keep up with him on Mnk. Although I like this game that is friendlier than other games when it comes to FPS games. I can track pretty damn well and flicking is not an issue but like you said, sometimes I wish I had that extra bit of AA cause us Mnk have to deal with having to make every single bullet count. Also the movement is this game is getting a little goofy and punishing the better aimers. I come from Apex Legends and understand movement and the such but movement in this game is broken in my opinion. Bordering on Quake level moment, if they had properly penalized the bunny hopping I don't think I'd have an issue but we've all been rinsed by that Mp7 totting, bunny hopping, Echelon main'ing controller freak who instantly starts hopping around like a the Easter Bunny on crack while wildly spraying his dirty ass Mp7 at you. Couple this with the amazingly bad netcode and you losing fights to roller players all day long.

      As much as we like the feeling of constantly improving on keyboard and mouse and putting in that time and feeling the improvement, same goes for controller, a lot of these games these days are designed with controller in mind first, if you look at apex legends imperialhal (arguably the best player in the game) switched to controller and won a championship, he was quoted saying he would have quit the game if he didn't make the switch to controller

    I have 25 years experience of KBM, yet I'm better on controller in Xdefiant with zero experience. That says it all. You're right too, the aim assist seems to lock on to the hit box and not where you actually see the model in game, which is especially problematic in laggy games. I've noticed this watching back my clips, bullets that should miss on controller will hit, while bullets that should hit on KBM will miss. Hope they can get the netcode sorted to even this out somewhat.

    I switched to roller after 40hrs in this game and it's definitely more consistent like you said. It's just so easy to track people and I'm too old to be an MnK purist in a crossplay title.
    I suggest trying out the acceleration setting that increases your hipfire sensitivity when you crank your stick all the way. I have mine at the max 2.0x and it really helps when you have to do fast 180's on a lower sens but it won't mess with your aiming.

    Using aim-assist is like legal cheating against mnk player to me. I'd be fine if controller players would play against other controller players, I don't care. But MnK players, who use their skill to aim, track, flick etc, shouldn't be faced against auto-aimers.
    If any FPS game which favors controller aim-assit goes into competitive, pretending to be esport, they are not : they are e-parasport at best, actually not even that: Sport is about skill, not about being assisted and having a button do the job for you.

    the solution the the whole Controller (AA) vs MnK is implementing Gyro-Aim for controllers across the board.
    Gyro-Aim allows for mouse-like aim on controller without aim assist. it's the literal solution but most people are not aware of it's existing or have no idea how good it is.
    the problem is, as long as aim assist is as OP as it is currently, people will never switch to Gyro because it requires a lot more skill just like MnK.

    • @dartlinfps
      @dartlinfps  7 дней назад +1

      I have heard a bunch about this, I think that it may also not get alot of attention because controller manufacturers would sell less hardware (think of all the warped thumbsticks that would no longer exist lol) I have never tried gyro aiming, I am curious and have to try it now

    • @NoMisZx
      @NoMisZx 7 дней назад

      @@dartlinfps this isn't the issue because you still need a left stick for movement and most Gyro players still use the right stick for the large "genereal" moves or "Flick Stick" and then do the aim with gyro. PS controller have Gyro since PS4 out of the box, like the steam controller and nintendo controller as well. only Xbox have no Gyro.
      the main reason is really just overtuned AA and Xbox not supporting it.
      give it a try, if your interessted, it's really fun to play and so much better than just sticks alone

      It's unfortunate to have a ranked mode that is just a controller mode because it's so much easier with AA to be consistent and much faster at killing because the game does it for you. A ranked mode where the skill expression is so low on one and the barrier to entry on the other is so high is just unfortunate, no one would complain if input based was also a thing in ranked.

      Weirdly I ping low most of the time and it's still hit and miss. I've had a few games where I felt like I was a gaming god, I was hitting every shot and everyone seemed to be missing me. It was bliss. Then a few games later my bullets don't seem to hit and I'm dying in what seems like one shot around corners to every person I come across. Frustrating game.
