  • One of the biggest drawbacks of a school where many freshmen commute is the struggle to socialize. So, when HMC envisaged a new design for Cal Poly Pomona, our team had a key underlying objective: Create intimate environments that keep students on campus and encourage them to feel part of a community.
The collaborative design-build team consisted of HMC (executive architect and housing design architect), EYRC Architects (dining commons architect), and Sundt Construction.

Biggest design flaw I see in this building is the stairs not going all the way up, instead only connecting 2 floors together.

This is unfair, where some students get assigned to the old n ugly dated dorm at traditional hall. 3 stories but no elevator. 26 students sharing only one bathroom with 3 showers. The kitchen there is smaller than a standard size bathroom, it is dirty, the stove is terribly small , no fridge. The housing fees is not a big difference than the new residence hall, no renovation, That is ridiculous.

What do these cost per month now? I used to live in the old dorms here in late 80s.
