Naissu documentary. Definitely both interesting and a little concerning for an incoming freshmen like myself, but I am sure it will be fine.

My sister goes there. She said its fine. She wasn’t in the red bricks tho so idk. She was in Sierra Madre, for her freshman year

I went to Cal Poly in the early 1980’s. My first year there I started out in Yosemite Hall for Summer quarter, then spent Fall through Spring quarters in North Mountain dorm. I think back then North Mountain dorms were the best. I had a second floor room on end of building overlooking the road entry to Poly Canyon. I believe all the rooms in all dorms were double occupancy. The red brick dorms at Cal Poly are what most of the California State University campuses have.

I attended Cal Poly from 2003-2008. I stayed in Fremont Hall (red brick) for the 2003-2004 school year. I only had one roommate. Those dorms were considered to be pretty nice back in those days. I was just ecstatic to get away from my parents and be on my own LOL.
But i would definitely recommend living off-campus after your first year. You are an adult and should learn to live like one. Keep in mind that you are there to learn valuable skills for when you join the workforce. Shit gets REAL after you finish college. The world is a harsh place.

I lived in a red brick double and it wasn't that bad tbh, but triples in the red bricks are totally unacceptable.

Triple? How can 3 people live in that room? I used to have my own room in 90's, it was all good.

It is sad, my daughter just got assigned to the Red Brick dorm. Based on what I observed, the school has done nothing to improve the dorm despite the genuine sharing / protest from these students.

Is red bricks priced the same as Yaki? Would seem fair to charge based on quality.

Which community generally gets to live in the towers?

My son lives in Red bricks triple room in a room that is barely even made for 2 people. Was shocked at how small the dorm room was. The kitchen and bathrooms were completely inadequate which is the nicest thing I could say about it. It is very unfair for some students to get brand new amazing Yak tutu dorms while others get a brick and cinder block walls and pay the same price. The school has to seriously reassess this massive inequality or at least charge less. I would gladly pay more for my child to live in a updated livable dorm room. Worse than my dorm in 1986. Red bricks doesn’t look like it’s been updated since 70s. Hope the school housing watches and reads these comments.

I totally agree with you, this is exactly how I feel when my daughter got assigned to this dorm as freshman of this year. Sad!
