My late wife used to make a fresh tomato “pizza” very similar to this. The only difference from yours was that she didn’t put garlic powder in her dough use regular olive oil, no sauce and would thinly slice fresh garlic, lightly fry it and put that on the pizza. She also could stretch the dough with her hands. I have no idea how she did it. Her tomatoes and basil came right out of her garden. Watching your video I can almost taste it again.

This caused a massive albeit brief fight when after seeing this the chant “pizza pizza pizza” began because the dinner being prepared had lost its appeal and if you couldn’t use your phone to have strangers go shopping for you and bring it to your front door my domestic situation and the relationship between mother and her children would have been greatly affected but this was easy to prepare and delicious so the period between anger and forgiveness was almost nonexistent. Pizza like this almost never works but this has been given a spot in the dinner rotation. So thanks.

Made this last night really as a side to dinner. I upped the veggies a bit, so kind of a bread and a “salad”; onions, tomatoes, bell pepper, mushrooms and jalapeños. ‘Twas a great hit. Easy and quick, relatively speaking. I’ll be doing this often.

These look fantastic. I won't be baking anytime soon with the temperature reaching 100°f every day, but when I do, I'm envisioning these topped with kalamata olives, those nice juicy sun-dried tomatoes from the jar, Roquefort or Stilton, with a balsamic swirl. Of course I'd also use my sourdough starter. I have to give thanks for turning me on to chili oil. It's not something I've ever dealt with before but it sounds amazing.

Looks absolutely delicious. Since I started making bread to your recipes, I have become quite good and consistent making the bread, thanks to your wonderful videos. My favorite to make and eat is the sour dough crusty loaf made in a Dutch oven. Dough is so weird though, each different one for the different breads such as sandwich bread or other bread or pizzas has its own characteristics and feel when working them. Quite amazing really. Well...... I'd much rather deal with this heatwave than snow, ice, blizzards, etc lol Seriously, it gets more unbearable as I get older. I go to work and come straight home, change, and just lay down. I'm eating a salad right now. I try to do any errands on a Saturday mrng before 10 am (groceries, bank, returns etc) . thankfully, our home has central air, so we DO keep cool with that, and our cars have ac too. It's too hot to go out and do anything, it's very draining. BUT! Our winters are VERY mild lol 🤭

Again, a beautiful and simple recipe! If you have time, you can also let the yeast dough rise in the fridge for a few hours. I imagine that it will be a little better, like the classic rise in a warm place.👍👍 P.S.: If I could write a wish list, I would also like to see typical British dishes. It doesn't necessarily have to be "kidney pie". But the "pie and mash" I ate in London many years ago, I found very tasty. I'm sure there's more.

AP flour has less protein to form gluten, but you can add vital wheat gluten to AP flour to convert it into a bread flour at a lower cost. John has a video about this from two years ago called "Convert All purpose/Plain flour to bread flour".

If I don't have something like chilli oil at hand (and you should always have chilli oil at hand!), a nice sprinkle of paprika or a hot chilli powder does the trick nicely.

Looks absolutely delicious. Since I started making bread to your recipes, I have become quite good and consistent making the bread, thanks to your wonderful videos. My favorite to make and eat is the sour dough crusty loaf made in a Dutch oven. Dough is so weird though, each different one for the different breads such as sandwich bread or other bread or pizzas has its own characteristics and feel when working them. Quite amazing really. And thank you so much for launching me on my cooking hobby.

Well...... I'd much rather deal with this heatwave than snow, ice, blizzards, etc lol
Seriously, it gets more unbearable as I get older. I go to work and come straight home, change, and just lay down. I'm eating a salad right now. I try to do any errands on a Saturday mrng before 10 am (groceries, bank, returns etc) . thankfully, our home has central air, so we DO keep cool with that, and our cars have ac too.
It's too hot to go out and do anything, it's very draining.
BUT! Our winters are VERY mild lol 🤭

Best to freeze them soon as they have cooled from the oven. That way they will still be fresh when defrosted. These are so thin, they'll Defrost at room temperature in an hour or so. Again, a beautiful and simple recipe! If you have time, you can also let the yeast dough rise in the fridge for a few hours. I imagine that it will be a little better, like the classic rise in a warm place.👍👍
P.S.: If I could write a wish list, I would also like to see typical British dishes. It doesn't necessarily have to be "kidney pie". But the "pie and mash" I ate in London many years ago, I found very tasty. I'm sure there's more.

Awesome, as usual John..but again, many of us dont use or have Bread Flour on hand..sooo, what's the AP flour, with BP ratio, lol..thx..

AP flour has less protein to form gluten, but you can add vital wheat gluten to AP flour to convert it into a bread flour at a lower cost.
John has a video about this from two years ago called "Convert All purpose/Plain flour to bread flour".
