This isn't luck, It's literally a step by a step analysis with multiple factors and thousands of hours of experience to dignose issues and implement effective solutions based on the observed response.
You aren't only an amazing technician. You are one of the best in their own craft that also pushes human self-development to it's limits.
Many hours indeed and once I was doing this level of work several times per week, it took me months to feel comfortable enough to record it. Thank you very much, I appreciate it!🙏
@@ststele Your videos are incredible every detail is recorded with the bonus of great sense of humor too.
i know it's not about how much you earn for the repair, even if it was the cost of the phone price himself.
The thing is: the challenge, the patient, the love of your work and finally the success you feel.
RESPECT...
Speechless.... amazing skills... 👍👍
Thank you!😊
So happy you are back looking forward to some more great videos
Your skill level has seemed to increase quite a bit! And stoked to see more videos coming out! Keep it up! Build up a Patreon and do some live shows, you have the base for it and the knowledge and personality. Keep up the good work!
I was on the edge of my seat watching the power up at the end.
Nice work.
Very professional.
Man I wish I was a smart and skilled as you are. You are a wizard when it comes to this stuff 👍
Your skill and explanation of the process are really awesome. I love your work brother.
I’m so happy that you posted a video everyday.
Nice thermal cam. If over the long term, the camera works well with no fails. I'll look into purchasing one. Thanks for the video.
You are the master! Amazing Jason!
Great job... you and I are one of the same... I always have endless nights doing research and developing my skills... Just imagine if everyone applied the same effort to achieve there goals... I do some microsoldering but my hands are just not that steady ... I just hate it when components fly into the 9th dimension.. Ive lost several smd eeproms and that is not a happy moment.. Great Video, Flawless!!
Wow great job man
Love the VGG reference!
I have similar issue, same device however the device has been liquid damaged. once again thank you Jason.👌
Bro when that logic eeprom almost flew away I almost had a heart attack 😂😂. Love your vids man!
Hi, I'm from China, I saw your content, thanks for your videos, I learned a lot. Thank you and I congratulate you.
Thanks for you
Good and great work you have made
I'm so excited
thanks Jason
You're very Good at what you do 💪
keep up the good and awesome videos 👌
I find adding flux to old paste to make it softer isn't the same as new paste. The original volume of flux in the paste is still there, just that it's hardened, then when you add flux it increases the volume of flux and lowers the volume solids of solder. Basically the balls become smaller after the flux burns off.
Wow Jason you are the best
I really like your job
When your paste drys up just use it as your plunge bucket for your iron for when your wetting out your pads for your low melt scrape
simply awesome work....i may say honest too
Good job !
good job man
That flux to clear to be the Chipquik is that what your using, if so i think mine has gone off lol Nice job Jason as always...
"ab-so-freaking-lutely" awesome video
Miss your videos man 😘😘
Really missed your videos for a span of time Jason.
Great video as always Jason, I've been a fan since your Missouri days. I have a few questions, I have the same mechanic board heater and my first iphone 12 separation didn't go well, the top board didn't work after separation. This heater has two temperatures, which temperature do you use, how long does it take to come up to temperature, what is the max time you would leave the board on the preheater for? Sorry if this is too much and thanks again for all of your videos.
Good job
*chuckle* "DP" 😏
I giggled
you are just awesome big brother.... 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you so much 😀
thanks bro
I really love all your jobs, lots of knowledge
Thank you! I will keep posting. 👍
I saw that displaced cap before you even took the heatshield off... **proud of self**
f***ing nice job! congrats!
Hi Jason! I have an iPhone 6S plus (A1634) that all of a sudden just rebooted and then was stuck in a boot loop where it just show the apple logo and then starts over. and I can't complete a reset or update/restore. Any pointers?
Amazing work. You make it look too easy. But it is definitely not.
Please don’t skip parts. I like seeing it all. We can fast forward if we want.
Whenever I go to plug in a repaired Macbook now, I always say "lets give 'er a twist!". Vice Grip Garage is rubbing off on me haha.
LOL! Yep - one of the channels I let play while listening & working.
Are the corners of the CPU supposed to look like they’re squished down towards the board?
Damn....a long time has passed since we had 1hour video from Jason.
Awesome like always buddy, nice work!
Oh man, I’m not ready yet for cpu swaps, but do lots of bottom board swaps… you should see me when the baseband eeprom flies away…. Gray hairs…
I miss your BLACKVIEW BL8800 thermal😭
what I think is that USA still use CDMA network. but i am not sure if CDMA is still used anywhere else....so that is maybe reason why USA board is `more populated"
good jobs i love you my friends
Hi bro, how much heat is used to lift the cpu
nice video and work. I think the capcitor from minute 16/17 was knocked over in minute 2:59 when you removed the shield. Maybe it was already loose
I think you are right, you can see it move to the side I think with the air pressure from the hot air. Good catch!
Thank you! I watched this video at least a half dozen times while editing and did not notice that! Very good catch! 😮
I never worked with the sandwich style iPhones. Did you need to reattach the bottom board together in order to get the data? Very impressive skills! 👍
Thanks! Fortunately this model does not need the bottom board for data transfer.
Ohhh NICE
Aren't you worried about the lead fumes and whatnot?
Do you use a fume extactor?
It is crazy how difficult iPhone board become to repair with each year/version of iPhone. First double board from iPhone X, then much high meting pointy of solder from board separation (from 12), then transferring CPU and NAND to the lower board. And I'm not talking about all the underfill, no numbering of components and serialization
I am still finding them to be much repairable but as they depreciate, they will become not worth repairing. A simple short turns into a pretty big job so once the phone is old, the repair cost will be too high. Unlike older models where more faults can still be quick repairs without potential for defects. I didn't mind the sandwich boards prior to the 12 but now I'm having to re-ball and deal with sandwich related troubleshooting on what used to be an easy fix.
@@ststele all double mother boards double the price of the repair cost here. For me android phones are much simpler and cheaper than iPhone
My sister got me a beginners soldering kit for Christmas, and in the paperwork inside finally explained, why are we even have the existence of that led free stuff. It’s all Europe’s fault!!! Lol.
Silly Europeans, trying to prevent lead contaminating soil, air, and water of the only planet we have. 🙄
For the times where you feel you are not good enough, remember what you just did :-D
You have come a hell of a long way and made so many owners of ill phones happy again!.
Your wife is still hot, the i.r camera says so he he 😀
What a handy tool :-D.
Thank you! Sometimes if I'm feeling incompetent, I actually do go back and look at photos of previous jobs.. it works! 😊
Was this from thr last video with the screw hole damage done to the board, The came CPU and drive?
The last one was a 12 Pro Max, this one is 12 Pro. I think the previous one would work if the RAM was replaced but the customer is not interested in data.
@@ststele Got you. My mistake. I throught they was both the same phone it came from. I didn't remember if the first one was different in anyway from this one. But it's cool that you got this one to work.
💪
I know that you know what you are doing, but making that X with flux, not getting it everywhere really killed my OCD 😱💀
This is understandable! lol
Hi, have you done a screen change in a Galaxy Flip ?
No I sure haven’t. I checked on the price of the Z fold screens yesterday and almost choked. 😳
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Maybe the original board with wrong coil was drawing less current during boot because it didn't have to power all the 5G stuff?
your chair creaks so much how is that not bothering you ? slap some flux on it 😂
I was wondering when someone would notice! This chair has the pedestal torn away from the bracket that bolts to the actual seat. It has maybe 30% left hanging on before it breaks all the way off and bad things happen. I was going to replace the chair but learned the part to fix it is cheap. 😁 Fixing soon.. it drives me nuts.
@@ststele replace it , the last thing we want to see is the chair breaking while you holding a logic EePROM during a transplant. by the way, is that a new thermal camera you got there ?
Lol @ eeprom! I'm just seeing ur reply as I'm coming back today to say the chair is fixed. 👍
Yes the camera is one that I had been told was no good for this work. Turns out, I had heard it from someone who had never used one with a macro lens.
sts awesome and nice seeing you again .
Hey! I'm glad to see you in my comments still. I hope everything is ok! 😊
@@ststele fine thx apart from this brain heammorrage etc that really stinks using my left arm only for everything but please post i really enjoy them . and hows the family doing .
Shout out to Derek VGG :)
Heya love to see wen you succed
Thank you 🙏
Sorry, I thought coils don't go bad.
I think the coil was good but apparently closing my eyes and pointing to locate a replacement isn't good for getting the correct value. LOL :-)
bro ... come on, the new zealand board is not a 12 pro board, it;s a simple 12 board and that's why you are missing the board_id rezistor... lol, that is why you are missing so many components...and btw.. just finished watching the video, you forgot to take the NFC_P and NFC_F to have your unlock code working... in case you wonder why code is not working :D
this is a fix for data recovery pourpose
@@FrancoCoccini exactly… to recover data you need the nfc’s taken from original board
u dirty mind 😂😂🤣🤣🍻🍻0:51
The DP?
@@brarautorepairs u dont get it realy 😂😂
Oh man, the things I get accused of! I'm innocent I swear! 😇😬
NZ people not watched like us people
😂 dp
Are those Square blocky things on the CPU are those ICS
I’am losing logic eeprom back in the day that i try boardswap iphone5. And its cenceled my project so early 😂
Master, Do You pouring some wine off the camera to stop hand shaking? I struggle with automotive eeproms.
