@@Yonatan24 its all good bro just having a good time. and honestly I enjoyed your vid and picked up great idea for making my own rack so really big thanks!
A really interesting video thank you for making it. I found it whilst looking for ways to cut a 10mm bolt as I sometimes need to cut bolts up to that diameter where I have rounded them off
I've been looking at the latest designs and think I will use a hose clip to run many connection points to the back forks and just below the seat post as this obviously makes it far more rigid.
Why would you need to make those aluminum mounting plates with three holes in them to give you one hole when you already have 2 holes there in the first place? I added a rear rack and just used one of the existing holes. I still have one left on each side. You now have none.
Oh, right. I thought I commented on yours, but no. How did it break? I've been extra careful with mine, though that does include falling a few times so far. One of my next videos that I filmed several months ago will also be very similar to one of yours again :)
@@Yonatan24 You feel you didn't spend single dollar because you might have bought the items for other purposes. If you account the material cost, tooling consumption and your effort, you will come to know how much you spent. I am just seeing the things from my perspective. If I want to replicate what you have done, I need to spend more money than buying from somewhere. There is no second thought about your work. It's fabulous. You have amazing skills.
Thanks, it's true. I calculated after building it that if I made minimum wage for every hour I spent building it, I could've bought two bikes. I have an epic video about making something fr my bike that I can't reveal yet in the next couple weeks - stay tuned!
That is actually very cool, but I actually like the "challenge" of riding a lot (except when it's very hot outside) Also I'm pretty sure if I modify my bike, I'd have to legally ride it in the road. Bit thanks for the (pricey!) suggestion, I'll look into it.
@@Yonatan24 I ride my full suspension hybrid MTB/cruizer anywhere I want. With a 52T chainring & a 19T cog I can do 45mph on flats and climb any serious hill around. Last year I showed my police dept & guess what? They asked me to modify their 8 existing patrol bikes one at a time which more than payed for my build! Expensive? Yes but worth every penny when you're 63 years old ;~) lunacycle.com/bafang-bbshd-1000w-middrive-kit/
@@Yonatan24 If you don't need all that assistance & like the challenge then there are options for a lot less$ You want to look low profile but have screaming power right? There are smaller mid-drives and also all sizes of geared hub motors - which are smaller in diameter than magnetic drive. You can turn it on or off - so pedal normally and still hit those hills with ease ;~)
If I ever had a job that I could bike to, I would definitely mod my bike and add an assisting motor, probably something like this: www.instructables.com/id/Super-Light-Electric-Fixie-Bike/ I ride quite a bit on rough terrain, but I don't mountan bike, sat least right now. If I did I would probably remove the bike rack - that would be a good idea when I think about my previous experiences. It's insanely hot in the late spring-early fall where I live, and the heat from the road makes me feel like I'm melting, 95 degrees F sometimes. But now that the lock is off my back(pack), it should be a bit better.
@@armandozapata7627 Same. That's how I finally got the video done! But any new projects? FYI I should either have 2 more videos until the end of April, or I'm starting working on another epic bike project, but it'll take me probably 2 months. Haven't decided yet :) #quarantinecontent

I'm excited to see what you create when you get your hands on some real tools and fabrication processes. Keep building.
👊🏻😉
nice brother, but i felt like you left me hanging cause i was waiting for you to go back and pick those rare pc monitors you found 😂✌️
Oh, that was filmed a long time before building the rack. I've been using one of those screens for the past 2 years.

I think I wanted it to be adjustable and wanted to have a stuffer connection with the aluminum angle
About time you made a bike rack, lol. Just repaired my wooden one, its back to 100%

but the rotary tool existed the whole time?!

What do you mean?
OVERCOMPLICATED BUT AWESOME :)
Thanks, I simplified it as much as possible!
whats the utility to do it magnetic?

What are the tools you have used?

Thank you! Very original - trunk take-out. (This is Google translation) Good luck)
very nice , i made one that 'floats' using nylock nuts , as my bike has rear suspension , not as tidy as yours !!
Nice, I'd love to see a picture!
Why did you use a Hard Drive magnet? Are they more stronger than those Black dollar store ones? I am assuming yes.
Yes, these thick neodymium magnets are somewhat rare and are a million times stronger.
@@Yonatan24 wow. now i wish i didnt e-garbage my dead drives.
thank you for sharing ideas 👌😊😘😘😘
Thanks!
Good job.. But useless.. Could buy a good rack in Amazon for fewer bucks
Not true, I didn't spend a single dollar making this bike rack. Also I think it's pretty clear I didn't intend to build a "normal" bike rack.

good job !

Now all you need to do is install a Bafang BBSHD mid-drive and a decent 52 volt battery and you'll have a powerful & fun hybrid commuter/MTB!
