Lots of people thinks Yoko Ono broke up the Beatles, but it was just that all four were growing up and growing apart, as many people do. We all change as we age, so our relationships change too.

Yoko was John's exit strategy from the Beatles. Given the level of fame and adoration that he achieved, he obviously went slightly insane. Despite all of that, we got some great music out of him.

After Lennon’s death, Ono inherited the totality of John’s money and royalties. I read about 250 millions straight of the bat and wouldn’t give Julian anything. NOTHING.

She fought Julian tooth and nail for over 15 years while pocketing all the interest. What she ended up giving Julian, a few million, when she got a few hundred million, didn't even amount to the interest she made on keeping it back from him for half his life.
I'm sorry, but you do not bring your girlfriend to the recording studio while working on songs. Lennon was wrong for putting his band mates in that awkward position.

It's well documented that Yoko followed Paul McCartney around to no avail and then set her sights on Lennon. The thing about her not knowing who the Beatles were is complete rubbish. It would literally be impossible to be an artist on the NYC or London scene and not know who they were.
Listen to what Lennon wrote in his songs and said in his interviews about Yoko. John loved Yoko, that is for certain.

Her Avant-garde friend took her round to Paul's for some lyrics for a show they were doing. Paul couldn't help so told them to go to John's which they did and John gave her the lyrics to The Word.
Paul quit publicly AFTER John told him he was leaving the Beatles. And Yoko stalked John for two years before they met. She knew very well who the Beatles were. How old are you? I'm a boomer. Only a hermit living in some remote cave could have possibly escaped knowing about the Beatles. Granted, that doesn't mean she's responsible for the break up.
I had read about Ringo doing that and later on Ringo said it himself on a radio show. He was feeling tired and sad. He went to Paul first, saying, "It is you, John, and George. With me just there not part of the group" Paul says, "I thought it was you three." He went to John and said similar, and John said, "I thought it was you three." Without even going to George, he finally just laughed and went on a vacation from the Beatles. When he came back, they had flowers all over his drum set. So yeah, I actually liked Yoko at first, then went into indifference, and now don't care for her after learning more about what did, but at the same time I don't think she broke up the Beatles either.

But one of the big blow ups came when George asked John to appear for the concert for Bangladesh. John came with Yoko thinking they both could perform. George, however, informed John that he could perform but flatly refused to have Yoko perform. So John also didn't perform.

Everyone historically says he became different once he met her, started focusing too much only on her than the whole group including himself. But even so, his lyrical concepts became deeper and more relevant after he knew her, so I don't think it was such a bad thing. The only weird thing is that she claimed that she didn't know him or even who he was while also trying to have a relationship. That part is weird, claiming in public not to know him at all while in private trying to have a relationship with him is pretty deceptive. But besides that, I don't think she's responsible for breaking up the Beatles I think that's the way it was going anyway.

Many people want to blame Yoko for the Beatles breaking up. As all of them were getting married and having kids, they just naturally would have drifted apart and pursued their own musical careers. I do think Yoko was instrumental in breaking them up soon rather than later. After watching May Pang's "Lost Weekend" I have the sneaking suspicion that Yoko was 1) A narcissist. She needed to be the center of John's universe and so she did everything possible to get between him and everyone else who meant anything to him. 2) A master manipulator. She knew how to push buttons and pull strings to work things to her advantage. Now, I've never met her but given what eyewitnesses have said, I don't think I'm wrong. I feel (I have no proof of this) but after listening to May and comments from the other Beatles and Julian, I don't think I'm wrong. When John ultimately returned to Yoko and The Dakota, I don't believe for a moment that his heart was in it. I think May Pang was the love of his life--she certainly made him a better person and his life better, happier and more stable. John was well read, well-educated and had a great deal of life experience. He didn't strike me as the kind of person that could be easily manipulated or controlled. It makes me wonder what Yoko had on him. Was it something from his past? Could it have kept John out of the U.S. permanently? Did she threaten to take Sean away and fight him for custody in a messy divorce? Was she blackmailing him. I just don't think John went back to Yoko willingly. I think she was holding something over his head that might have either destroyed him or his career.

I still can’t stand her at all. The way she did. Julian is absolutely horrible. When John and May Pang had there affair it was Yoko, who said the whole thing in motion. She didn’t want John anymore, but she didn’t want anybody else to have him. If it hadn’t been for John and his money, she wouldn’t have as much now as she does. Also losing her own daughter was her own fault. They were both strung out on drugs for many years and with the lifestyle they live who could blame the ex-husband for taking his daughter away from her. When she had Sean, she still did drugs throughout the pregnancy, and he was born addicted to drugs. What kind of mother does that to her unborn child? I would not be one bit surprised to find out what kind of untruths she has told Sean about his father and Julian. Wished John had been able to stay with May and not gone back to Yoko. He would’ve been a much better person for it. She was married at least twice before marrying John and at least twice after his death. God bless Julian for the man he has become . So sad John is gone.
