They're really the best at covering up mistakes. I've seen that at the cologne show. And it's not even criticism, I was actually amazed how they do it so effortlessly
Happened in London too, Anthony missed his cue on Dani Cali and they just carried on jamming. Although i think Anthony was trying to fix something to do with his sound off stage.

Even though John is much tamer since he returned he slowly opens up bit by bit every show they play. Besides that his return seems to have restored the spirits in the band tremendously! Gotta say that his return was the most exciting thing that happened in the music world so far this decade : )
Through statement , on the Slane Castle DVD , By the Way and Stadium Arcadium albums , John took over completely , could imagine that he was done that time , Stadium Arcadium got so much guitar layers every track and solo’s , Flea even thought about quitting on the By the Way recordings , because John was all over the production process and John wasn’t feeling Flea’s musical idea’s at that time , but that would have been the biggest loss in music history , the Unlimited Love album is full of Flea & John both in a completely different groove , but fits and sounds fucking amazing , can’t think of another band with that Chemistry between the instruments

I am actually not the biggest chills peppers fan. being a drummer myself I love chads playing though. concerning anthony: even every chill peppers fan knows that anthony is not a great singer but the band as whole does reach some heights at times. for me johns input is essential to the creativeness and moral of the band. I appreciate his solo work but enjoy what he does in the chilli peppers context more and no one rips guitar solos like him in a popular band context.

all instrument-playing groups do this. without the backing tracks, there is absolute freedom to do whatever you want, within a reasonable time frame. it’s improvisation, this is normal.
yeah i've the entire footage of this song this day. I though it was the normal growing of the riff, but now.... i'm more impressed. and if you listen, chad smith is really following the end of the second riff.It was one of the best part of this show.

John didn’t land on the chord safely in it’s only natural lately. I’ve never heard such a mistake from the master but he leaped off the cliff to do the bridge section from the recording. Anthony heard it but they kept moving forward professionally… it’s a gift to see the vulnerable moments but also the soaring new heights of this tour.
yeah and Josh was doing the same...this shit happens even in local concerts, this is just a thing you get used to when you play more than 5 concerts a year
i wouldn't even call this mistake, kiedis determines when to sing and in which key. but great video. i had tickets for hamburg tomorrow, unfortunately i wasn't able to make it
This could have been planned in rehearsals to give a couple extra bars before anythony returning. John continued solo before he looked over and saw Anthony wasn't at mic. Possibly because he didn't hear his vocals immediately could be the case, either way, it was smooth. A nice safe, or a nice extra couple bars in the solo before back to the verse.
