In today's video I unbox my new camcorder a "Yoroshi UHD 2.7K" which I found in a late summer sale on Amazon. Hope you don't mind my telling a little story during the unboxing about how I part-funded the camera purchase - if you have had issues with RBS there is an online complaint form - one of their customer service reps was appalling in his behaviour - I wonder how many errors are made when people owe them money Lol!

That looks good! We went the camcorder route too......thank goodness my wife was the one who had to get her head around it! That RBS bank doesn’t sound like a very customer focused organization!

I wish my wife would volunteer to take on the new camera but sadly that is not going to happen 🤣.
Would not recommend RBS as their customer service experience is appalling.

Hello Woody. I've had similar experiences with some customer service calls. Hold for 30-45 minutes then the call is dropped. Nice looking camera. Learning curve is on the way now. 👍👍 Have fun with it. Best wishes Bob.

For the money, this ticks all of the boxes for your needs 👍 You mentioned a digital zoom (as opposed to optical zoom), be careful because this can degrade the picture quality the higher you zoom. Looking forward to seeing some footage from it 👍

Nice camcorder mate.... a suped up version to a similar one that I use. Hopefully you'll have fun with it and we'll get to see the new footage. Also, can you let me know how you get on with the microphone - I'm interested in knowing how well the windshield works. Cheers Adam

I've been swapping accounts for years for the ££££££ incentives and RBS is the only one that failed to honour the agreement. However, I have a new camera 😀😉 so the effort was worth it. Hopefully I will get my head around it soon!

What are you doing reading this Woody - get playing with the camera, I want to see the test footage :)
Get the fasted SD you can at the size you want as sometimes I find that
From HD 720 to 2.7k is a fair jump. If you publish at 1080 you should even be able to get a little bit of digital zoom (about 1.4x) to punch in or reframe things - if you fancy playing with the editing software that is.
That second hole in front of the 1/4" screw mount locks into a pin on video tripods to help orientate the camera and stop it from swivelling.
Looks like the mic has a low pass filter as well which might help with the wind noise. Being a (mini) shotgun it should help discriminate against noise coming from the sides - you will still need to be reasonably close to it as even on +10db distance will drop the audio levels/quality on any camera. Just need to test it and play about with it. The -10db will be for noise environments such as concerts so that the cameras preamps dont blow and distort the sound. It might have an audio level on the screen.
How long can it record on one battery? Can it work powered from a USB power bank - that can be really handy when doing a long bit of filming. Even with 2 batteries you need to stop and swap so USB power would be handy.

@@cumbrianhomestead The key is just to play with it. Start on the default settings then change one setting at a time to see how it changes.
One tech bit you might be interested in the IR on the camera probably means Infra Red - i.e. night vision. Hopefully it'll have a couple of IR leds somewhere to illuminate the scenes.

@@cumbrianhomestead It looks very similar to the one bought for me as a present last Christmas especially the micraphone oh yes the auto start have not got that to work yet the problem I have is the instructions they dont represent what you actually see on the camera. Something has become lost in translation (Chinese to English) Colour balance was a problem till I worked it out but the lens is brilliant so I use it mainly for widw scenic shots. If you are more successful than I at becoming acustomed to using it a follow up video to the unboxing on using it would be a winner as I could find no video user videos on you tube but that could be me Best of luck take care Mike

Hi Manda, yes they're from the same genre so in theory it should work. I would think a bud graft next year would be best, but nothing to stop you trying a Scion graft.
