    Can't believe how you waited A DAY! I think I couldn't make it and opened it 😅 I know 50s Telecasters are great, but ppl should give more praises to 60's Teles as well. They are beautiful with rosewood fretboards😍

    I got this too. I haven't played a Telecaster since the 90s and that's long gone. I have rule recently, no trem, no deal, but I must admit I like the feeling of playing this with the ashtray on. But what really floored me was when I heard the bridge pickup through my Princeton Reverb with only a slight delay (and more reverb from Surfy Bear). It was one of the best tones I've ever heard coming out of my amp. Don't tell my Jazzmaster.

    I hope fender has this series for awhile and builds models from every year up to the 80s.

    Add a 4 way switch for series/parallel and that expands its versatility so much.

    Hey man, great videos! I was wondering if you can give me some information about the Matchless SC Mini, I'm looking to maybe getting one but I have no idea about how it sounds on lower volumes. Is it too loud for bedroom playing? How does it deal with pedals at that volume?

    I don't currently have an electric guitar and this model is the one I'm currently the most interested in buying to solve that problem. I'm curious about one thing in this video, though. When you did the close-up on the bridge you can see it has threaded saddles. I thought this model came with the smooth stainless steel saddles; is that not the case?

    great instrument it seems. Well done. What is the weight? It’s funny it looks like we have a similar rig (sc mini included which I absolutely love). Do you mind me asking what is that ES at the back? What’s on your pedalboard?

    • @chrisbrown8173
      @chrisbrown8173  Год назад

      Thanks! The weight is 7 pounds 9oz.. I went for the one with the lightest weight and the darkest rosewood on the fretboard. SC-Mini is a great amp!! The ES is a Gibson 333! Working on a video today that will hopefully be out before long :) Pedalboard is always changing, but currently using a Strymon Flint, Strymon El Cap, and an older Yellow Fulltone Fulldrive 2.

    Great playing. These are the best reviews. Leave it to the store channels to go down the rabbit hole of specs. You've got a good recipe of talking and playing here. Look forward to more.
    The Matchless sounded way better than the Rumble. Stick to the better amp. Keep on rocking!

    I played one yesterday through a silver face Princeton reverb reissue. It was a nice guitar. Clay dots ✔️ neck ✔️
    A bit on the heavier side, For me . . I was told probably because it's a mahogany body. It felt a bit under 8lbs. I have a 7 lb. & 7.4 LBS and one heavier but under 8 lbs.
    In my opinion and I will say I play Telecasters and have 3 . 52 RI , And one I purchased new that is 60s style at 7 lbs . Beautiful guitar made in Japan and a Tele partscaster which I love with a TV Jones in the neck position and DiMarzio Special T in bridge . Paid $550 , the guy made it and after 2 years wanted something else & roasted rosewood neck all high end parts totalling over 900$ before assembly. Sorry I got carried away .
    Imo the Telecaster Vintage II that I played and not for very long was a nice good guitar, but $2250? ??? I am not sure it is worth it that is for me. . Fender should come out with a Robin Ford Telecaster.
    I have a white 61 Stratocaster Vintage II on order and leaning towards Dakota red also.
    Nice playing but imo you can get most guitars to sound like that with distortion pedals . But how does it sound clean through a tube Princeton or Deluxe Reverb. I guess I'm old and played , had a good band for 5 years in late 60s early 70s played a lot Northern NJ , the Jersey shore , NY and played and owned Fender Gibson & Bandmaster and Bassman amps. Also here the North West for a while and have sat in many different gigs and perform single for a long time but used mostly Breedlove acoustic. I'm not saying the guitar is not worth the $$ cause the build quality is there but not for me.

      Thanks! There was a few things that persuaded me to purchase..
      - I loved the color
      - Really liked the idea of it being a re-creation of a 1963 Tele.. that’s cool!
      - Someone called this line “Custom Shop Lite”.. that appealed to me as I couldn’t afford a custom shop currently
      - I wanted a thinner neck than my current Tele.. this has a C shape and feels good
      - The case looks like 1963
      All in all, this marked a lot of boxes for me! It’s a great guitar 🎸

    So, I purchased the same guitar, same color, model...While I like it generally speaking I was very disappointed by the factory setup. Lots of fret buzzing, too much relief. Also, I plugged it in to my Princeton reissue amp, both pickups on, middle position. I thought it sounded really nice, but a little off. I flipped up to the neck position and was blown away at how it was twice as loud and much, much fuller than the middle position. Next flipped it to the bridge position. Same story, much, much louder and fuller than the middle position. When I switched back to middle position after hearing the other two it just sounded weird and not right: Wimpy, thin, tinny, like all the air had been taken out of the guitar. I'm thinking Fender wired it incorrectly at the factory. I also have the AMVII 72 Tele and did not have the same problem with the pickups. The set up was poor on that one too. Just wondering if you experienced the same thing with yours?

    • @ibanezgrind
      @ibanezgrind Год назад +1

      I recently bought a 75 Tele Deluxe Am vin 2 from the same series and discovered the pickups were swapped from the factory! Bridge pickup was in the neck position and visa versa.. had to rewire it and sounds great now but SHEESH! Really Fender? What’s goin on over there? Hope you got it resolved.
