Guru gorakhnath is the "rastradevta" of nepal. even his name appear on numerous versions of nepalese coins and currency notes. Macchindranāth considered as a god of rain worshipped by hindus and buddhist.

I'm from Assam our guru is goroksha nath and matsendra nath... As we are known as nath yogi.... In Assam and Bengal... Tripura.... And our gotra is shiva gotra.... Nath dev nath all are nath yogi who's guru is goroksha nath....
Even my family was from chandradwip guru matsyendranath had a big influence there.... Still people of that region call him matsyendranath of chandradwip.... Bengal Assam tripura all were influenced by not sampraday and also by goddess worship.... Whether it is Kalighat Dhakeshwari or maa Tripura sundari of tripura....

I just became totally entranced when listening to Sadhguru tell that story. I listen to Sadhguru’s teachings a lot, yet there is something magical about his storytelling that makes me I feel like I’m there. Goraknath is much much much greater Maha Yogi than what everyone thinks, he has contributed numerous ways(yoga, tantra, mantra, yantra...lot more) to humanity to attain enligtment/mukthi/wisdom, but most people in India doesn't know about him , he is called Goraknath in North India and Korakkar Siddar in Southern part of India . Guru Gorakhnath is our holy guru. his temple is located at Odedar A village nr Porbabdar city of Gujarat .. At that temple there is a huge tree of radius roughly 5 metres... It is said tht gurudev took samadhi under that tree ... if anyone knows anything related plz enlighten us too..
