You do what you have to do. I might make s new mold and make a video of that. It is fairly easy to do, and of course, making the candles is easy. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Thanks, Todd. Well, as I have said I am a country boy and country boys will survive. I like being able to do things like this. A lot of things that I have shared in our Playlist "Projects" is stuff I wish I had learned to do back when I was in my 20's or 30's, but I guess even your 60's you can learn to do and make things. LOL Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie

Great review, good to see DIY projects, I use old wax for the cotton ball fire starters, thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Jimmy. I like being able to do things myself, especially when, like these particular candles, you can't buy locally. They have to be ordered off the internet, then you have to wait for shipping. I use old wax as well to make fire starters. If you look in the upper right-hand corner of the video, you see the "i" thing, well click on that and it takes you to the egg carton fire starters I made. I have some of those round cotton makeup remover pads somewhere around here and I plan to soak them in wax. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie

Not bad in my opinion. When I was growing up my dad would keep stuff laying around. He said he’ll use it one day..... 🤷🏻‍♂️. I’m grown with kids of my own and I’m doing the same thing. Ha ha! I reused lots of stuff. Great idea to save money.

Thanks! I have always been that way, guess I watched to much Sanford and Son back in the day. Of course, sometimes you got to say, well it is time to toss this out or you will have stuff everywhere. LOL If I can make it, I prefer to do it that way. Self-reliance is how I look at it. Thanks, Foggy!! You do what you have to do, Foggy. Since I really don't like shopping over the internet, UNLESS I have to, I prefer to buy locally, and when the store doesn't carry something, well I am trying to figure out how I can make it. I don't even grocery shop over the internet or apps on the phone. I guess it is the country in me. LOL Thanks for watching and commenting, and I will let Jerod know you said hello.

Thanks, Dan. I have always said I am a jack of all but master of none. It is all about being self reliant. I like being able to do things myself instead of having to ask for help or have to pay for something. If I can build it or make it or fix it, I am willing to jump in and at least try. Dan, I remember seeing some old kerosene lamps that had a reflector on top like that years ago when I was a kid. Appreciate you watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA

Or you can look through the "Preparedness and Survival" playlist to find it. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie

Thanks, Josh. I believe I could have done a better job on the mold for sure. If the cup would have been straight instead of tapered, I would have had enough caulk to cover the top better. I am going to look for another cup that is straight all the way from the bottom to the top. I have another tube of silicone caulk and plenty of corn starch left over. I may do a video on making the mold. There is always something you could make with a mold. Heck, I even thought about making fishing worm mold. Now they wouldn't be totally round because it would be an open mold, but it could be done. Just a thought. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie

Nice job on the candles and reflector I've used candle lanterns for a long time no batteries to worry about and they do put out a little bit of heat not much but enough to warm up your hands good video

Thanks, Dan. This is my first one, and with all the scented wax that the wife uses, I figured I could put it to good use. We have kerosene/oil lambs that we use and a few solar charged lights, and a few regular candles. I had seen the UCO Candle Lantern many times on the web, so I decided to get one. Then I noticed that you just can't go to Walmart or even Dunams to buy candles for these things, you have to order them off the internet. So my mind got to thinking, I had a Walmart bag full of these wax disks and I had used them for my egg crate fire starters. So I found some wicks at Walmart, will make my own later, and I decided to make the mold and get started. Plus with just getting a tee-pee hot tent about a month ago, I figured I could use the lantern on a camping trip. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie

I have a UCO in the UK & it's OK. However, there is also the solid brass "Bushlite" lantern which is not only better quality & brighter, it uses ordinary household candles, which cost just pennies.
Good job on the reflector, well done. Greetings from Whittingham, Northumberland.

I will have to look up the Bushlite lantern. I don't know if I have ever seen one or not, but I may have and didn't pay any attention to it. I can't see buying something if you can make it. Of course, my reflector is a little thicker I am sure than the actual reflector. Thanks for watching and commenting, Ashley. Juddie

Matt, especially when it is something like those scented wax cubes. The wife goes through a lot of those. I thought I could also use that wax with some LEE Alox to make some bullet lube to run through my lube press. The Alox would help soften the wax to run through the lube press. Then there were the fire starters that I made from cardboard egg crates. But I can see that if you kept everything, well yep, hoarding tendencies. LOL Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie

    Juddie! You have my cup!😂
Those UCO candles are cool! I’ve never seen them!😱
After this I think I’m gonna get a couple! They will be great in camping/ Bugout bags!
That’s a cool use of repurposing instead of trashing something useful!👊🏻💯👍🏻
    Good one Juddie!

Yes, I do Cornbread. I decided to get one when I saw you drinking from the one you have. Setting here right now drinking coffee in my orange cup. These would absolutely be great for camping or even bugout situation where you need some light. The actual UCO candles that you can buy are supposed to burn up to 9 hours, now of course, I don't know how long my candles will burn. Will have to do an experiment and see. I do also know that the bees wax candles from UCO are supposed to burn about 12 hours. I need to get me some bee's wax!! I have repurposed a lot of things that most people would throw out into the trash. I guess you can say it is the cheap side of me. LOL Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie
