  • Today, I’m excited to be joined by Cecile Maino, Owner and CEO of Cadillac Consulting LLC, to explore a highly relevant topic: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). With over 25 years of experience in Human Resources, Business Strategy, Executive Coaching, and Leadership Development, Cecile brings a wealth of expertise to the conversation. Her impressive background includes serving as the Corporate Vice President for Las Vegas Property Operations, where she collaborated with Senior Leaders to align corporate strategies with operational priorities, focusing on Talent Management, Organizational Effectiveness, Change Management, Guest Service, and Culture.
In this video, we address the evolving landscape of DEI initiatives. We delve into how DEI intersects with HR policies and practices, examining the challenges and opportunities in preserving its core mission amid a complex and changing environment.
I will be putting on a webinar in August on some of the practices you can put into play and utilize some of the practices that Cecile brings up in this video!
If you have any strong feelings about what we're talking about, I would love to hear them. Comment below!

Thank you both for bringing this issue to the forefront. You are correct that this has now become a political issue as every other issue that deals with equality, especially in these times. A very frank and truthful discussion, Sara and Cecile!

Thank you for posting this - a good thought-provoking review. Having been associated with HR initiatives over the years, it’s important to note that DEI initiatives were (and continue to be) a response to labor-market realities, specifically talent recruitment and retention. Folks looking for employment and career development were (and are) telling businesses that these values were necessary for them to even consider applying for an open position at their company.

8:41 great point on how DEI needs to be engrained in the culture. Ultimately, as it was pointed out, publicly owned businesses have to answer to the investors. DEI can improve an organization’s ability to reach new global audiences thereby strengthening its position in the marketplace. Any CEO not interested in achieving this position will eventually find themselves falling behind the competition.
