I love this!!!
I went and saw the tour in Boston. I was 12 or 13. I still remember it as if it was yesterday.
This kept me entertained the whole time! Can’t wait to listen to the next one!
Loved this podcast from start to finish!
Yay, thank you!
Wow what a cool peice of history
About the two per country rule, is it true that it came about basically because the US didn't like Romania dominating the podium back in the day?
There is some incorrect info here:
1. Borden was 8th at Olympic Trials. Also, there were only 6 competing members so top 7 would not have cut it.
2. Team gold for the U.S. men would have still been a stretch in 1980 as they finished behind the Soviets and Japan at 1979 Worlds by a wide margin - 6 points behind the Soviets and 3 behind Japan.
In any case, I still very much enjoyed the podcast and loved hearing the stories of personal growth from both of you!
You make a good case about the 1980 men, but Amanda did finish 7th at trials. USAG. Stats confirm that.
Thank you for listening!!
didn't they skip 2000? Did Mary Lee not want to talk about Morgan and Alyssa?
