  • This model introduced the 237 c.i. flathead six, generating 100 horsepower. Certainly all the fine details in the interior that gave Packard its high standing.

    Something about a Packard Jack...
This one appears to be impeccable.

Hey, Audie! Packard knew what it had to do to survive....bringing back the 6 was a smart move, although some would argue that it diminished the brand. It's clear that they didn't skimp on luxury appointments. Thanks! :) Jack

“ Ask the Man Who Owns One. “ was their very well known slogan. 1930s Packards are all beautiful cars. Packard was the only non Big 3 luxury car maker to survive the Great Depression. The “Junior” series six cylinder models 110 and 115 and the 8 cylinder 120 introduced in 1935 became big sellers, keeping the company financially viable . The number of buyers for the much higher priced traditional custom built “Senior” Packards ( Super8 and Packard 12) remained too low to be profitable by themselves.

It was indeed a smart move to make their cars affordable to a much wider spectrum of customers...it was facing reality, and Cadillac did a similar thing with LaSalle, but it didn't have the Cadillac name and would eventually have to go. Interestingly, I have an ad for Packard trucks early in its history! Thanks! :) Jack

They don't come prettier than this. It's sure hard to believe that this was Packard's 'value leader.'

Indeed! I think Packard realized that it couldn't stray very far from what had become classic Packard style. So very recognizable as a Packard! Thanks! :) Jack
