I am REALLY hoping you're still making videos. Most comments are from a year or two ago, and on your page, the nearest I can find is 8 months. Anyway, I grew up in the South, meaning I LOVE shrimp and grits. I loved my mother's, my grandmother's, my wife's etc, but have to admit that none come anywhere near this recipe. I tried it and was blown away! Yes, God, there actually is a perfect shrimp and grits!
I've made this twice today. Once for breakfast (my first try) & once for dinner. It tasted incredible both times. I added more lemon juice the second time & used a bouillon cube instead & it was even better! Thanks love
I NEVER liked grits until this recipe. I have made this no less that 10 times. This is my go-to and it is always the highlight of my brunch!!!!

I have to try that brine for my shrimp. My scampi is pretty much the same recipe, except I don't use shallots. Adding them next time!

So I made this recipe yesterday forgot the Chardonnay but I just added a little bit of chicken stock to the lemon butter sauce next time I'm gonna make sure to buy the wine but it was still so delicious. Can't wait to get a man and cook this for him lol
Grits is similar to a Jamaican dish called turn cornmeal, except they make a sweet version and a non sweet version. some people make this with coconut milk. it's delicious. in Barbados, this is called coocoo, their national dish. I don't know how Bajans make it. try adding more veggies and making it like a jambalaya.
Yes it is similar to a dish that we make in Haiti too and we called it "Mais Moulu". It can be sweetened or salty depends on the preference.

So is Polenta Grits??? If they are I'm going to slap myself because I'm from the Caribbean and was raised on grits. Since I moved to Canada it's been really hard to find grits. Polenta on the other hand is EVERYWHERE!! I've been craving it and if I can use Polenta I would be so excited!!

@carnaldish are the measurements correct in the recipe for the grits? Your video says to use 1/4 cup polenta for every cup or liquid. You have 3 cups of liquid but only 1/2 cup of polenta. Should that be 3/4 cup of grits, or 1 3/4 cup of chicken broth?
