Thanks, I used this video to determine that it was the filters either side of the inlets that were clogged up. After cleaning them, it's working better than ever! I also used the other video by shower doctor to calibrate the temperature! Thanks Shower Doctor!
Thanks to the shower Doctor for providing the parts and this guide to get my shower back up in under 36 hours without a massive plumbers bill and waiting ages for him to have time to do the work.
Thank you for your time and effort posting these instructive videos! Bought the new cartridge, fitted it, put it all back together including silicone...and wondered why I was only getting a trickle . Came on here and discovered I should have adjusted the pressure first. Thank god for the Internet and the Shower Doc ...happy wife now
After watching this video for many many times, I got mine replaced by myself. No more leak and the new one is just so easy to use. The old one was tough to turn on and off. Thanks OP!

Thanks for a great instructive video. Took out cartridge to fault find low flow symptoms that had been getting progressively worse. As expected, found inlet filters had stopped some large lumps of crud from entering cartridge on both hot and cold sides. After flushing both feed pipes and removing filter gauzes from cartridge and cleaning, shower seems to be performing better. Thanks for instructive assistance, this repair was achieved at zero cost ( just how I like it)!!

thank you.. my 20yr old shower stopped flowing, Plumber #1 wanted to rip it out of the wall and replace! Mira freephone help offered a circa £500 fix service, with a 4 week wait. After watching your vid and with the part no supplied by mira help, the shower was fixed before the kettle had boiled for my cogitation Tea brew..
I still need to reset the temp as currently a comfortable shower is at temp level 9 but your vid on that has armed me well, Again Many Thanks..

Thanks George, I purchased a cartridge from your website but had water turn off problem. I think I turned off the appropriate gate valves but when I tried to remove old cartridge hot wate was sparaying everywhere.... Have put ot back together when I noticed a leak in one of the valves which I am going to fix before further progress

Quite importantly, BEFORE installing the cartridge, ensure you lubricate the seals with the silicon grease which is included.
and turn the water supply off.

Hi. Thanks for video. My shower has recently started dripping so cartridge is probably on way out. I’ve replaced the cartridge before so know how to do it, but given they are well over £100 a pop, are there and internal seal kits to repair rather than waste a whole unit?

had plumber come in to put in a new cartridge last year and now I find pump struggles when regulator is turned to hot. Works fine with cold. I suspect some level of calcification restricting flow . Do I need to replace it so soon or is there any way of cleaning it
Hi, thanks for the content was a great reference. I fitted a new Mira cartridge as the old one got very stiff and snapped. New one works great but is stiff first thing at first use, after first use it’s like the pressure is released then works great. Any idea what’s wrong? Is it a pressure related issue in the hot supply? Any help would be appreciated before I call out a plumber. (Don’t want to break the new cartridge at £200 a pop )
Hi, would the MIRA 415 shower be a similar process? Are they all similar.
Excellent step by step guide and very prompt delivery of the cartridge I ordered. Might be worth mentioning to those with a booster pump in the loft how to turn off the water. The video was so good finding the way to turn off the water took longer than changing the cartridge.
Interestingly with a 1.5 bar booster pump the existing cartridge was a yellow low pressure one, could that be correct?

Hi,
I have this model of shower and turning the temperature selector to the hot side turns the shower on! Turning the flow selector also turns the shower on. The only way to turn the shower off is to turn both handles fully clockwise to the "flow off" and "full cold" position. Is this a cartridge problem? I just got the place so cannot rule out incorrect shower installation but Im not sure if its possible to install it in a way that would cause my symptoms? do you think I need to change the cartridge or is something else a miss?

Just tried this. New cartridge pouring water of the wall when fully shut off. Seals are fine. No idea why it’s doing that. Replaced it with old one in the meantime. That’s why I never touch plumbing even “simple” jobs. Examining the new cartridge can’t see anything wrong with it?

I get to the bit at 1 min 53 where he says "it should just pull out" and it doesn't. I've tried wriggling it loads, spraying limescale remover around the edges, using the lever points, but it barely moves. Any tips?

You've got to be grateful for an instructive video like this! The pace of the process was fine, but I too struggled with the volume. I also think that the shower doctor has a tendency to take for granted that we souls out here would actually know that the water needs turning off, and, that we know where the stopcock is located....such a great video let down by....er....insignificant details......???

I turned up the volume on my computer and it was fine.
I'm really p***ed off with these built in cartridge valve mixers. I moved into a house where one has started leaking but I had no idea as its built inside the wall, and until the water collected into a massive reservoir and burst out under the floor below taking out all the house electrics I realised there was a fault with it!
I can't wait to get rid and throw it away its a piece of sh**

The volume is terrible!!
It would have been more useful to show the shower unit closer up instead of focusing on the demonstrator. As it was, his hands and head sometimes obscured the view, though it was difficult enough to see the details anyway.
I have the later model excel than this. It has jammed three times and broken small plastic components when trying to get it to turn. Save yourselves the price of the cartridge and get another manufacturers shower. In my opinion this one is overpriced and poorly made.
