As a young gay man in 1985 I “ran away” from Bluebell/Ballyfermot to the UK. I am still there. I returned in 2016 to get married under Irish law to my partner on our 25th anniversary. We will be 30 years together this June. That song was the soundtrack to my youth, to my sadness, to my life. Today I found it on here because my nephew recommended it. Thank you guys. I loved this song in the 80s, I've loved it ever since, and I never thought anyone could ever come close to capturing the magic of Jimmy Somerville's classic anthem.
