This is an extraordinary insight into the stationary needs of a prayer life. Personally, I have never understood the fetish for office supply stores among American Christians. Here in Ireland we use a three year lectionary for scripture. Following the readings we sit quietly in the chapel and reflect on them and allow the words to percolate (like coffee) in our souls. We also have a tradition of renunciation by which we strive to let go of all the 'things' (like pens and highlighters) and be alone with God in Christ Jesus.
@@joesbibles5636 You are so welcome, Joe. So tell me, as an outsider looking in, what is the thing with all the office supplies. This is something all American Bible channels have in common.
@@BaxterMcCannI think it’s just a cultural thing of young Americans liking to journal and write in notebooks. For many people it’s an art and form of self expression and way to engage with the Bible that they are comfortable with. Americans are also quite individualistic in some ways so being able to adapt their own plan and style in their personal prayer and study is likely appealing. That’s my assumptions though. I keep some random journals don’t keep huge track or organized (nothing like here) but writing my reflections on scriptures and prayers has helped me a lot and I can go back and see where I was at that point or find reminders.

Bible reading and meditating on the verses has significantly decreased my anxiety levels, I used to be super low on mood and energy but thanks be to God, I feel much better although I'm learning to take it one day at a time. I love your Bible study and devotional tips and the notebooks and journals you use. I love this! Please do more and maybe some tips on how you would lay out a topical study.
@shellyc8101 Thanks for the comment and the suggestion. Let me mull that over.
@@joesbibles5636 I love reading and doing Bible study but my struggle has been how to organize my study and devotional time with structure and having a concrete system for digging deep. I have lots of notebooks but my note system is all over the place! I love your style of study!!!
@@shellyc8101 Thanks.
Great video, really enjoyed it. And so cool to see how you're using the cousin!! Thank you 😊
@LovetheWord311 Thanks for watching and commenting. Are you a Hobonichi or Sterling Ink user?
Brilliant Joe. This is very similar to what I do. I'm so encouraged to see someone one out there with a near identical process. I'm not familiar with the notebook brands that you mentioned (live in Spain/ India). I'm always looking at what is optimal. Kindly link to those. Love your choice of Bibles too. I'm very ESV . Will be subscribing. Thanks a lot.

Thanks so much! For the notebook, go to Jetpens.com
Do you know where that daily journal notebook is from? I like the layout of the page for taking notes.

Very interesting, I need to be doing something like this
Thanks.
Would love to try out your devotional reading plan. Where can I find it?

I absolutely love this! Very inspirational as I'm trying to change up my devotional routine, and I LOVE the Hobonichis! What do you use the weekly section for?
Thanks for the comment. I use the weekly section to record my highs and lows.
I just ordered my Hobonichi cousin. I can’t wait to use for my devotional as well. Nice video!!
@@0207khenry thanks. You’ll enjoy that Hobo cousin!
Great video! I see some things I want to try now.
@@ThomFost thanks! Try whatever is needed!
