Hey! thinking about buying a 2004 and just fell in love with the car and how it drives! I'm nervous that having 200,000 miles is too much BUT anyone can tell the engine bay components and engine has been Extremely well taken care of. Anyone have thoughts on this?
This is my old car!!! Such fun memories and it was a blast to drive! Fun fact, this exact car was actually featured in a magazine sort of like Car & Driver as it was one of the first IS300’s introduced to the US market. Do you still own it? It’s been a few years since this video was uploaded.
Connor M that’s awesome that you found this video! I still have the car at 220k and everything is great except the AC. I added a down pipe a couple years ago that really opened up the exhaust
@@ajthaicy1 Hey AJ! I'm seriously looking at this car at a dealership for 4000. It has 200,000 but Extremely well taken care of. Other cars in my price range that are also nice and fast cars I can tell will break down quicker than this one will. The car consultant is praising this car and says that my other car I'm looking at will literally die before this one does and that other one is 2000 and is a 2005 Pontiac G6. I'm crossed between the two or just buying a basic Civic. Please help I'm begging you haha. So glad the previous owner found your video!
Greg Ginley The straight six engine in the IS will last a long time, from 170k-220k I’ve only had minor issues with the car. Just drove it cross country and the car was great. I would not recommend the Pontiac G6 at all. 200k is a lot of miles but the IS300 is a solid car nonetheless. Maybe try to look for used IS300 near you and find something with lower miles
I just picked up an 02 5 speed is300 for a comuter car, only 150k for 3500, your video makes me feel good about getting 30mpg lol . Love these little cars.
where do you guys live? im in washington and just picked up an 04 with 140k miles for 7600 from a dealership. even on craigslist its hard to find one in good condition for anything under 7500.

Not about miles with motors that a built to last it's all about how the previous owner maintained the car check for timing belt. Valve covers and other wear and tear items Great cars none the less I have one 2001 manual swapped.treating me good so far ///170k///
This car worth it in 2020 for a daily? Found a clean white 03, 160k, no engine lights, clean in and out! Its between this and a TSX, I think this might be a lil outdated compared to the TSX, smaller space and worse mpg but man its sexy asf, just looks so good and you got that Lexus reliability. Hard choice🤔
Hey! thinking about buying a 2004 and just fell in love with the car and how it drives! I'm nervous that having 200,000 miles is too much BUT anyone can tell the engine bay components and engine has been Extremely well taken care of. Did you buy it? haha
Greg Ginley nah I ended up with an 07 Acura TL Type S, actually has 190k atm, runs great, Honda’s and Toyotas, as long as they were maintained will run 300+ man, dont be afraid if its nice and runs well.
@@kevins5845 Awesome! haha I'm so grateful for the reply i need to buy a car asap. Would you mind telling me what you think of these two? Literally making the decision asap between the Acura and Lexus! haha ridleyautogroup.com/vdp/15935111/Used-2004-Lexus-IS-300-for-sale-in-Cincinnati-OH-45226 ridleyautogroup.com/vdp/15997974/Used-2006-Acura-TSX-5speed-AT-for-sale-in-Cincinnati-OH-45226
Greg Ginley you know what? After some thought and looking at both...go with the 300, its super clean for 200k and as long as it drives well and you maintain it, it will last, the TSX dont look too bad either but im not a fan of the color personally. You would get better gas with the TSX and its slightly “newer” in design but that 300 is clean bro..get it!
I'm looking for a commuter and was deciding between this and an is250. My truck gets 12.5 mpg on 87 octane but the is300's avg fuel economy of 20 mpg on premium isn't making it a strong competitor
Dany Phantom I was the one who actually installed it. I followed the instructions on the my.is forum. It won’t let me post the link here. Simply replace bulbs with blue LED’s.
A lot of people buy this car with hopes and dreams. When they see what those cost....they sell it :) Nice looking IS though man. Gauges not my cup of tea but clean AF!
Yes. And then you have to spend three to four times that ammount for a reliable and fast build. There's a reason why they are cheap and supras are not. The old cliche: Cheap, reliable and fast, pick two.
Dave Derlego antenna was off amazon and exhaust is an Apexi N1 catback. I think the new owner (the one who posted the video) added a Megan Racing downpipe.
I find automatic cars hilarious xD I drove an automatic is200 once, there's no feeling to it.. I have the manual and there's no way I'd go automatic xD
Thomas McQuinn yeah I searched and searched. couldn't find a reasonable manual IS, I did find a 2001 with 56k!! roommate and I plan on manual swapping later.
Lol is this video a joke? Adding a snorkel doesnt automatically mean you have a cold air intake. Also i laughed my ass off when you went to drift that automatic and your traction control kicked in. Noob
My friend supercharged his is300. Sounds awesome and is reliable.
Beautiful and super reliable car. Lexus designs are timeless👍

0xXAllForNothingXx0 I'm getting for 2.5k and the miles is 137k

Might pick up on with 110k for 5000
0xXAllForNothingXx0 boutta pick up a auto for 27 at 150xxx. Definetly expecting to get my money back after ive gotten my use out of it 😂
I got an 01 with 118k for 4k. It does have some dings and scratches tho

Greg Ginley wow thats a tough choice man, what are the top 5 most important things for you in a car?
Greg Ginley you know what? After some thought and looking at both...go with the 300, its super clean for 200k and as long as it drives well and you maintain it, it will last, the TSX dont look too bad either but im not a fan of the color personally.
You would get better gas with the TSX and its slightly “newer” in design but that 300 is clean bro..get it!
Clean car! You should make installment videos
in this vid was the car lowered at all or u only got a front lip on?
What's your exhaust setup? Do you have stock headers?
ELVER GALARGA Apexi N1 exhaust, Megan downpipe
Nice car. Nice sounding exhaust
do you get better gas mileage by adding the snorkel? And I heard that if you change the air filter you get good gas mileage
Kermit Suicide I would recommend buying a short ram intake for it. Injen, HPS, or AEM.
Clean!!! Mine is all black , how much were the rims ?
Johnny Ruiz they’re stock
Clean car. What stereo is that.
Clean AF
Do you have to use 91 octane?
Dave Derlego u do, the Manual says u have to do it. I use 89 in my is300 2004.
I've used 91 and 87 and see no difference. I don't run it hard tho
Where did you get the antenna from ?
Disculpa pero que mofle tienes me puedes decir el nombre..? Gracias
Apexi N1
I'm looking for a commuter and was deciding between this and an is250. My truck gets 12.5 mpg on 87 octane but the is300's avg fuel economy of 20 mpg on premium isn't making it a strong competitor
Then buy a Corolla
It is a 3 litre I6, it'll never be a fuel sipper.
why did u locate the snorkel there. Arent you afraid of water getting in
What kind of exhaust did you have? sounds so nice
Apexi N1, thanks!
How many miles ? 6k for that car seems like a low price
Sorry bro. Chrome plated brake pedal and the front lip was pretty tough to install? I congratulate you for your achievement.
Do you have heated mirrors? Where does it turn?
donfranki turns on with the rear defroster
do you still have the car
Will try it. Thank you!!
How did u get the blue lights in the climate control panel n where to buy one. Can i get a link
Dany Phantom I was the one who actually installed it. I followed the instructions on the my.is forum. It won’t let me post the link here. Simply replace bulbs with blue LED’s.
What color is rear spoiler light? Does it work like a brake light?
whats the audio setup?
Great choice!

How do you change the shift knob? Been looking to do that for a while just can't figure out how.
HollyWood Aliu twist it counter clockwise
What name of the antenna and the exhaust or links to buy?
Dave Derlego antenna was off amazon and exhaust is an Apexi N1 catback. I think the new owner (the one who posted the video) added a Megan Racing downpipe.

Xavier Torres 2001
