I've never been such a huge fan of the UK version. Contestants are compelled to 1) Take a mathematically pathetic offer 2) Go all the way. In the US version, most episodes end with the players taking a deal, thus making it more enjoyable, entertaining, and intense. The UK prides itself on doing away with religion in favor of more rational, secular worldviews. I would have thought that such "rationally" minded people, who focus mainly on empirical evidence, would have a much easier time turning down the banker's mathematically horrendous offers. Apparently not! You wouldn't buy a lottery ticket, and yet here you are taking a bank offer worth less than 25% of fair value and getting all emotional about it. PATHETIC!
