I bought a 3 year old DS4 Crossback just over a year back, 14k on the clock for less than 10k with a 2 year extended DS Warranty and Road Assistance . The 1.2 engine is surprisingly quick, it looks sporty from the outside and plush on the inside. Seats so comfortable and supportive.... Lots of kit inside. No real issues at all, drives well and great grip around corners with 4 Michelin Pilot Sport tyres.... My only slight criticisms is the ride on rough roads can be a little firn, eco doesn't work unless battery is 100% charged and sat nav can be occasionally temperemental....I've seen only a couple of crossback on the road so great exclusivity.... I'd take much of the comments of this Marek guy with a pinch of salt, seems his review is more about showboating his sarcasm rather than giving an objective review.
Bugger off Marek. I love my DS4. Best car I've ever had. Sure it's very misunderstood. And has tons of idiosyncrasies, but I actually love it for that reason. 😁👍
your videos are really great Marek, people really should chip in more on patreon, it's clear you put a lot of effort into making them and they're very entertaining.
Someone I know had a DS4 loan car to spend a weekend on. They said the car was very stable and handled the gravel backroads that are still a feature of rural Northern New Zealand. From a personal perspective, I think this could be a love/hate car. I've loved the Citroens I've owned but I'd pass on this and carry on with what I drive now.. Which isn't much.
Marek I bought a Citroën back in 2013, nice durable car, HOWEVER Citroën makes the most basic design mistakes you have ever seen on a car. Not enough pockets, not even a cup holder for your fancy expresso and so on. It makes you wanna go to France and slap the designer on the face! I would buy another Citroën but ONLY if they fix those basic errors that are more like horrors.
it's my first time watching you, and I am quietly sorry that I missed you all the past time... great review man, and keep up the good work, now I know that I will turn on notifications alarm for your upcoming videos ;)
@@grahamjones7683 what did I say in the review? The driving position is too high, there's little space in the back, where it is also dark, the rear door can poke your eye out, it was too expensive for what it was (basically another body style to the C4, same switchgear, etc.), that Prince engine at the time had camshaft issues, the automatic was jerky, visibility was crap, and so was the suspension... I think that sums up what many could subjectively describe as a piece of shit car :)
I actually drive the previous version of this car- citroen ds4, and after I heard Marek I feel guilty of liking my car. 😂😅. The video was very entertaining, anyway.
Nice and accurate review I like it .. made a mistake myself and bought c5 and sold it after only three months I couldn't live with the steering or gearbox really your words are spot on target now happy again with a used BMW 3 series
I think the used market for these cars is a hell of a lot better than buying a new one. I just got a bargain on one the lowest mileage one for sale in the uk for 10k yes resale will be poor but if people are like me and use stuff until it dies I think they are great value
Sure, if you can get one for bottom dollar, screw resale value. Someone else has already taken a big hit on it, and as you say: drive it, until it dies.
@@MarekDrivesENG yeah definitely, I mean it’s not a car I’d usually consider as I’ve come from a 5 series and a Mini Cooper but the market is crazy still.
A mate bought a c5 brand new, fully loaded, was telling him to buy an Eclass or 5series, few yrs later he's gone bald & the car still doesn't work, from auto gearbox issues to not starting, to electrics.
Love the way it looks, but i would have to be very drunk and high to even consider spending that much money on a Citroën C4 with a bit more chrome on it
Last as in first or last as in current (second)? I haven't driven it in a while. I remember it was rather comfortable. Mk1 my father-in-law used to have had the usual air suspension problems, but that was partly due to poor maintenance. Not all mechanics know how to deal with it.
I adore Citroen as a brand. As far as I'm concerned introduction of DS brand wasn't necessary at all. New C3 is fabulous and much nicer than drab looking VW, KIA, Ford, Mazda....competition. Lack of cup holder is nothing comparing to overall ugliness of Polo or Fiesta. DS4 is relatively old model but is still very nice car.
When he drives a firm fidgety audi/bmw, he decribes the suspension on them as sporty and firm, and on the ds brands??? Ohhhhh you can feel the potholes, in my firm BMW 5 series i can feel all the potholes, but thats ok for a bmw? Strange man.
What's with the music at the beginning of the video? It sounds like Salomondrin's "Let's talk about cars yo". The car is awful, I wouldn't take it even as a gift.
Just bought a 10 year old 1.6 litre Diesel to get me to work and I swear it's the best driving car I've ever had. Absolutely love driving it.

Thanks for being straight and bloody honest Marek!!!

Keep coming back for more.
superb looking car my mates got a merc he wants one of these ds4 crossback burnt orange superb god they look good
As good looking as the DS4 is, it is also absolute garbage in every other respect.
@@MarekDrives That's a really subjective comment... Why is it bad in all other aspects!?

I wouldnt mind if your videos turned out to be full of hate an sarcasm from now on. You do a great job at it!
:)
I bought a 3 month old Peugeot 405 in 93 with the high boot sill.
I love Mareks reviews.

I wasn't going to watch this video.... you know french car ... boring. But then i Thought , Marek is gonna tell it how it is! And so it was!

I've not watched it yet but I bet I can guess the outcome. It's a nice attempt by DS but it doesn't meet his standards.
Love the way it looks, but i would have to be very drunk and high to even consider spending that much money on a Citroën C4 with a bit more chrome on it
What car would you recommend for buying?
Depends what you're looking for.
What about 12k for 2.0L diesel automatic 2017? :D
Not watched the review just yet. But Marek will slag it off. #crystalball
Yep.
That much?? Why can I pick one up now with 20k on the clock for £9000
Marek, what do you think of last gen Citroen C5?
Last as in first or last as in current (second)? I haven't driven it in a while. I remember it was rather comfortable. Mk1 my father-in-law used to have had the usual air suspension problems, but that was partly due to poor maintenance. Not all mechanics know how to deal with it.
Merek not an air suspension hydropneumatic
Thanks for your answer. I was thinking about curent generation. Mk2
bill doxo You're right.
+Marek you should test C5 next

Did you say 33000€ ??!!!!
It must be a joke
a golf gtd is around that pricing.
But what are those songs?!
TRENDY CAFFE CROWD HAHAHAHAHA
What a shame, I love citroen
wow 33 grands? are they high? i guess buying new car is only for rich ppl
YOU JUST COMPLAIN
It's a crap car.

There's a difference between stiff, but good damping, and plain hard.
@@MarekDrives my BMW is stiff......stiffer than the ds5
How dare you! You offended my favorite brand. I warn you, never do that again! /S 👍👊🤘😂😂😂
A nice car, but not really practical and to expensive
Eh, I guessed 34k euros :(
i thought 15k
you can buy same model Dacia Sandero for 10k
Who`s Gone Pay for this wast ?

RUclips stock music.
Thanks for warning, I'll watch someone professional instead 👍
You obviously don't have finesse and style. You should try to earn an honest living in some other field.
The first and last time I watch Marek. Tjiesus what pessimist. This is not my kind of giving a review
