it's always the way in every government and election around the world. Even Trump and Clinton, only 25% of the U.S voted for either, so techincally 75% of yanks wanted neither. We're no different in that regard. All that matter is who gets the most number. Doesn't matter if only 5% of the country votes for you if that 5% of votes is more than any one else gets.
If you need the 'majority' to win there'd be no government.
What we need is better candidates adn the abilty to get rid of anyone not doing their job. That's the only fix. But won't happen because Aussies have lost their balls.
I always thought it was 32%, must be because of inflation, it really should have gone back to another election. Is the AEC on Labor's side? Seat redistribution's always seem to favour Labor.
I said goodbye to using that airline two years ago. Their covid money should be audited, and what was not used for salaries confiscated. Just for starters.

As opposed to their current role of dividing and ruining the country? Maybe they should be paid a small retainer and then bonuses based on results only. Think of all the money we'd save because there would never be any need to pay the bonuses. For the most part, it seems, politicians are parasites.

So many people complied simply for their freedom to travel. How can voting for One Nation result in 'change' when it doesn't even run candidates in every lower house seat and doesn't hold anything near to the Parliamentary majority required to implement a single one of its policies? Voting for One Nation is akin to a donkey vote and only succeeds in diluting the conservative voting base. Parties like One Nation, UAP and the Teals are how Albanese got elected with only 33% of the primary vote. SMH.

Unfortunately the competition within Australian Domestic Airline market is pretty much non existent.
Jetstar is a subsidiary of Qantas, so that just leaves Virgin.
A few cheap airlines went belly up around the same time as covid.
The other big names are reserved for international flights departing from the major airports (using Jetstar, Qantas, or Virgin for internal transfers to smaller regional airports).

Ex-CEO Of Australia’s National Airline Receives A 900% Pay Increase
Alan Joyce, the former CEO of Qantas, received a pay increase of 872% as he collected years’ worth of long-term incentives on his way out, but his hefty bonuses were cut and withheld amid damaging lawsuits.
Joyce, who retired early this month after a regulator lawsuit accused Qantas of selling tickets on thousands of already-cancelled flights, took home A$21.4 million in the 2023 financial year, according to the company's annual report.
Most of the amount was share-based incentives that Joyce was allowed to cash in after they vested. Qantas cut an additional short-term bonus for Joyce by one-fifth of the A$2.7 million available. It withheld it pending two lawsuits that may result in hefty fines and further reputational turbulence for the company.
