- A very nice clip from the great documentary 'Shut Up & Sing'. The Dixie Chicks are meeting up with producer Rick Rubin to get his opinion on the new songs. The scene with Rick & his dog banging their heads is classic.
Rick Rubin charges like 50,000 dollars to produce a record.. and its worth it
he's seems really laid back for half a billionaire
Is that Chad Smith on the drums at the very start there?
Yup!
and the stereotype of the 'dogs looks like owner' continues...
Damn Rick Rubin seems so cool and laid back, and he is open to many different types of music. He's a legend, wish I could meet him.
rick loves teh vocals.. idk much bout the dixie chicks but u can tell the ones who dont sing seem to be annoyed by him
From T La Rock to the Beastie Boys to LL Cool J,, Public Enemy and Jay Z,,,, THEN to Slayer to the Dixie Chicks,
Rick Rubin .... Musical Guru , legend.
i wish i had that dog xD
He feels the music :P
Is there a connection between Alanis Morrisette and Rubin?
I wish Rick Rubin would do more interviews....
Rick is cool, hail Slayer and Beastie Boys. thanx Rick
From Slayer to the Dixie Chicks, Rick Rubin is a musical genius.
...and The Cult! 🎶
No,,, YOU have no clue,,,,what Def Jam WAS and what it IS....Especially to the Hip Hop community,,, the Instant classic he produced, "Its Yours" by T La Rock,,, Public Enemy,,, doing film worl like "Krush Groove",, Tougher than Leather" this was the GOLD that Rick Rubin LIVED,,, Sure the money means nothing, of course,,, Im saying he FLED from that particular GOLDEN ERA and totally looks different and is on a different level now in music,,, I know EXACTLY what I am talking about my friend
haha he is right the song was good but the lyrics didn't fit it
@dauploader03 Yee ain't know? Rd Hot Chilli Peppers and Rick Rubin had a good relationship for a very long time (see "Mother's Milk"). So it's only right to see Smith helping Rubin with whatever he needs.
They dont understand him at all
@dauploader03 After they were not played on country radio stations anymore, they wanted some guidance while working on new songs. They turned to Rick Rubin since he's an excellent producer.
Rick Rubin is freaking awesome:D
@canitasteyou321 he doesnt master albums..not his job
I love how at the very end Rick Rubin tells the Dixie Chicks how to make music lol
Is that Chad Smith?
Absolutely
Waylon
whats the song at 1:51?
The dog! Wow! Hilarious.
@canitasteyou321 I take it you referencing the Metallica Death Magnetic album, I still don't understand what that was all about.
@dredgtones He probably charges at least 10 times that. He does have a great ear for music, but he isn't exactly a typical producer. Great for some groups, not so much for others.
Yeah I had to check that too, just to see what all albums and songs he produced.
Somebody told me that the song at 1:48 came out, its so good
@thekillersquirrel from RHCP, WIll Ferrel lookalike I've always thought lol.

@thekillersquirrel Yes it is.

Hiiiiii mommie
I love how sulky the fiddle player is at the end, feeling like she’s being squeezed out of Dixie Chicks, lol.
Probably cause she’s a huge part, and wrote a lot of their hits🤔
If they wanna know where the football is its under her jumper
damn, does chad smith look like will ferrell?
Actually, its Will Farrell...
Do you mean Rick Rubin?? Man this guy is crazy for leaving Def Jam (the multi million dollar company he founded) since then,,, he started to look like a FREAK...he lost his damn mind
