BANGTAN GIRLIES WE HAVE WON TODAY 🎉🎉🎉 In all seriousness, I do believe that Namjoon is one of the best lyricist of our time! This man is PURE poetry so I'm really happy to see you diving into his work 💜
His reaction to wildflower was everything dude was clutching his chest the entire time.. was moaning at the right times and when he took off those glasses I knew this guy just gets it...
Not sure if chat mentioned this, but when rm said "we still love and hate this city" in hectic (19:39) He's referring to his earlier song "Seoul" from his second mixtape "mono" where he says "if love and hate are the same words, I hate you, Seoul" He does not define his relationship with Seoul as one that's driven by love or hate, but rather one he is simply very passionate about.
i remember when suga said "You'll like BTS music if you listen without prejudice". If only people can be more open minded/heart with music it would be amazing, the amount of amazing foreign musics that people haven't discovered yet is just....
@@blujay__ It's the thought of people being too underestimating when it comes to other language songs. I've read the chats from this video, and seeing how others doesn't want to listen to a bts songs just don't sit with me. I'm glad that he did RM, because it deserves to be appreciated. I am not here to discredit namjoon's work. but namjoon is bts.

omfg troy!!!!!!?!!! I’ve been watching you for so long and i love you but i never in my wildestes dreams thought you would react and listen to one of my absolute all time favorite artist! I’m so so so grateful you took the time out of your day to do this with care and the utmost respect (as usual 😭🫶🏼) and that you thoroughly enjoyed yourself 🥹🫶🏼
i just got to the wildflower reaction and you’re crying????? to an rm song??? TROY I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD SEE THE DAY I LOVE YOU FOR THIS GEM BRO REALLY THANK YOU THIS IS MAKING ME SO HAPPY 😭🫶🏼
Bro that was a rollercoaster for me. That whole album is just perfect, damn. I think he made a good decision to put the last song in there at the end coz I was smiling the whole time I had to look up the lyrics. It's like when you had so much sht going on in life and you just go sit by the window with a cup of coffee/tea and breathe that fresh air. Idk how to describe it properly. The album is a breath of fresh air for me. Def on my playlist.
yes! and its especially powerful hearing park jiyoon and rm singing "don't look back no more" knowing their intense past struggles (they both dealt with mass amounts of hate and targeted smear campaigns which rm has been open about and had caused jiyoon to take a 6 year hiatus). and yet, here they are, at peace, showing us that there's a way out and that they've been able to look forward instead of worrying over the past. i got chills.
RM’s Indigo (and also mono) are only underrated by those who refuse to open their minds to his genius because they’d rather stick to their preconceived notion about “Asian boy band” BTS. Army are proud of his talent and thank you for being a reactor who is open to new music. RM’s lyricism should never be dismissed.
✨PETITION FOR:✨ - Mono (We need more Troy tears sorry) - D2 (let’s see how he enjoy that rougher Korean scratching his brain hehe) - Jack in the box (Troy he’s an actual music nerd, would love to see him dissect Jhope’s homage to old school genres)
i think this is my favourite reaction video so far. you went into it unbiased and reacted genuinely. wouldn't be surprised if this intrigued you so much, that you're getting into the bts rabbit hole
Wtf dude this video is so wholesome. RM indigo is really an artistic masterpiece, his first mixtape was full rap album showing his skills, 2nd album/playlist was kind of self reflective, vulnerable but real, and indigo is poetic perspective of life.
I loved the reaction, Indigo is such a special album. Thank you so much for giving our boys a chance to know their art, we believe in their music and they should receive so much more respect. Glad you enjoyed it, once again thank you so much. Armys really appreciate it 💜💜💜
just a small thing-it's not a question of him saying that his BTS experience is behind him and departing for his own career. This is taking time for personal projects while the members come and go from their mandatory military service. As of the current moment there are definitely intentions for BTS to resume activities when they are all back in 2025/6 (obviously subject to change ).
BROOOOOO.... THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR LISTENING TO THIS. BTS IS SO MUCH MORE THAN PEOPLE GIVE THEM CREDIT FOR. RM does alot of the wriring for them, if you liked this you should check out some of their other albums.
No.2 song is really special Park jiyoon the co-singer released a song called Adult ceremony which is basically about losing virginity to an older man but since she was 18 she didn't understood the lyrics about it and received hell lot of hate. It affected her relationship with her parents , she webt into depression JYP the company under which she was working created this image of her which she hated and went on hiatus for 6 years. In 2003 she left the JYP Company. The lyrics "My love , don't look back anymore , behind the clearly mix memories, these remaining live stays like a bonus , You've done your best So No! No looking back No " holds special meaning. This was said by park jiyoon herself
11:48 the "run away like fish" part doesn't sound weird to me bc my brain kinda translates it to "escape like a fish" lol. we love languages. i wonder if that's why joon said it like that too, like maybe it sounds different in his head due to him speaking korean.
@@hthazee Damn, you answer fast! I personally compare a few translations, doolset and muish blogs are the best, alongside some twitter translators, but just stick with doolset. There are usually a lot of references and wordplay, different people notice different things, so feel free to have your own interpretations as well! That's why watching reactors is fun and educational 😊 Also, they like making doubles in both English and Korean, so keep an eye out
yep in reality anybody who doesn't know korean AND english cannot give a critic for rms lyrics. also need to know his back story and his past albums too, otherwise its so shallow
i wouldnt consider a critic shallow if they don't understand and know the artists personal life. I get the langauge thing (kinda) but nah, if the music hits it hits. that's what's so great about music, it can transcend language if powerful enough. i think RM's got the power.
@@hthazee looking at the music from a critical standpoint vs from casual enjoying is the difference here. enjoy it however you like, but someone cant fully review the album if you don't understand all the references.
funfact about wild flower (since you caught on the part about 'flower work' sounding like firework!) the korean word for firework is 불꽃 (bulkkot) which can be separated into 불 (bul, meaning fire) + 꽃 (kkot, meaning flower)... so yes! flowerwork/firework indeed :] rm's wordplay is so fun always... that being said! wildflower's korean title is also further wordplay! because the korean word for a fireworks show(?) is 불꽃놀이 (bulkkot nori) and here in the song, the title swaps out the first syllable 불 (bul) for 들 (deul), turning 불꽃 (bulkkot i.e. fireflower/flame) into 들꽃 (deulkkot; meaning flowers that grow in a field, i.e. wild flowers!). so it turns from 불꽃놀이 (bulkkot nori; fireflower/fireworks show) into 들꽃놀이 (deulkkot nori; a wildflower show!). i can't remember exactly why, but i think it was a metaphor for wanting to live more like something calm but longer lasting (wild flowers) as opposed to something that is shiny/sparkly but short-lived (fireworks) ^^
Just so you know about Yun (note from a website called Doolsetbangtan): Note: In an interview, RM mentions that the title “Yun” comes from Yun Hyong-keun, a South Korean artist known for combining the colors of earth and water who RM greatly admires. His artwork is also shown in the album photos. This track features narration by the late artist and calmly lays out what RM learned from Yun’s paintings and messages and became to think of. (Then Genius transcribed what he said) Edit: I wanted to note that Yun the painter serviced all the invasion of Japan in Korea which they were terrible to Korean. The painter went through a lot of hardships but was still created art. At least that is my understanding from RM and he said that his message inspired how he was able to have motivation to do set despite the things that have happened.
Underrated to western media and lost locals, sure. Everyone else with taste appreciates his insane talent and brilliant mind. So happy you reacted to RM, I hope this is you starting your BTS journey. With love, from an ARMY💜
Rm is the definition of perfection his lyrics are the most meaningful and emotional lyrics I've ever heard indigo is namjoon's emotions that are not limited to just an album he is absolutely brilliant genius RM's solo work is my favourite indigo is my favourite after his mono album. He deserves moreee
Im so glad you loved wildflower your reaction is exactly how i acted when i first heard the song I'm not even kidding. I cry everytime I listen to that song, it's the voice that does it for me, I've never heard something like that, it stirs EMOTIONS inside me and the tears start flowing. Thank you for such a nice reaction! 💜
indigo is such a gem, rm is a genius with his lyrics and the whole album felt so fresh, bts has so much diversity in their sounds but lots of people dont really feel like giving them an opportunity mostly bc of prejudice sadly
Rm's mono and indigo are one of my fav albums. His thoughts behind every lyric, the references, and his flow: pure art👏 thankyou for doing justice to this album
The quality of this album is Ridiculous! The lyrics, the musical direction, the mix, the live instruments, the artists he collaborated with, the producers involved, the magazine shoot explaining each songs, the Live performance in an Art Museum and the tight knit Live Concert. Indigo is a timeless masterpiece.
Loved this reaction to an album I love so much. But just a correction for your last comment about RM "leaving BTS" behind... he's not. 😅 They're all taking a break from group music (after almost 10 years) to explore more of their own solo music, to rest and also to fulfill their mandatory military service in the South Korean army (every able-bodied man is required to do it for a minimum 18 months). So yeah, he and the rest of the members will be going in one by one and hopefully all finishing up in 2025. They've expressed in multiple interviews before that they want to keep doing BTS for as long as they can, so I can definitely see them being a group and making music for decades to come (if they so wish). Their individual work right now will only bring even more creativity & passion for when they come back together again. Anyway thanks for reading my long comment & have a great day!
heyyyy good on you for looking up the lyrics!! next time, I suggest you use doolset bangtan's translations as they are well versed in korean and translates even the hidden nuances that are essential to understand bts songs! thank you for giving namjoon a try! love when more people discover his music❤
Namjoon is just different. And his lyrics, he’s a true poet. Expected a masterpiece when Indigo was released and got a masterpiece in the end. Loved your reaction! 💜
thank you for giving namjoon a chance, he’s a lyrical genius and not given enough credit sometimes. people often wafe off bts because of the language barrier yet there are translated lyrics provided by army translators everywhere and even genius. thank you again
i will love it if you get into older bts albums (like LY: Tear) because these guys have so many bangers and great lyrics in their discography. it's really a shame most people only know dynamite and butter and assume that's all bts are about.

RM didn’t leave BTS lol! They are just on a break since they all have to complete mandatory military service these next few years So in the mean time they are just chilling and releasing their own music before heading off the their service one at a time
My friend and i started to maintain a google doc where we rate songs as we listen to new stuff and most things are a sentence or two at most- but indigo took three and a half pages. the thought put into his work never ceases to amaze me and his work is so personal- it really shines through! (also, as a photography nerd, the physical version of the album focused on cyanotype photography- a sort of indigo-ish light sensitive material! super neat stuff)
OMG OMG YESSSSS!!!!!!! Thank you so much for listening to this RM's Lyricism is TOP TIER like the man has MAGIC. BTS is sooooo much more than what people think 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
RM is only lyrically underrated by anyone who doesn't even know who he is I'd say, lol and yeah sadly, hard to find decent translations for BTS lyrics because they actually are poetic.
I watched this video reaction for RM like hundreds time, I love your reaction, if you like to travel to RM world perhaps you can react to RM mono mixtape, RM collaboration song : sexy nukim, smoke sprite, don't ever say you love me and some of his old solo song and collaboration, you perhaps would feel on a roller coaster and you just want to stop, but somehow you want to get in on again, that's me when I travel to RM world 😊
Namjoon has always put double meanings and alternate meanings to his lyrics, every word is sung with purpose and has weight. He's also very inspired by OG hip-hop and black artists! He recently mentioned that in his most recent interview where he wasn't inspired by other boy bands, he was inspired by those who originated the music we listen to today.
Haha, your VIBE throughout the whole video was amazing! Always so nice to watch people discovering my boys. RM is amazing! He's such an amazing rapper and producer. I'm glad you enjoyed the album :) It would be awesome if you could react to more BTS related stuff. I HIGHLY recommend the albums: dark & wild and love yourself tear. I think it can be a positive surprise.
i am a bts fan and i was hoping someday you would react to their songs, so thank you for reacting to this beautiful masterpiece that’s indigo, RM put a lot of work on this one and it’s great to see people of the industry saying such good things about it, he deserves it
Happy you enjoy Indigo as much as we do. Of note, BTS is still a team. They are exploring their own projects during a break before they head into their mandatory military service this year (each on a different time table). They have plans to regroup after when they are all back around 2025. 💜
pleasee react to bts's album love yourself: tear, it's truly *chef's kiss* and i think a good intro to the different nuances bts brings in their music (that is different than what normally plays on the radio)
1:02 his voice is actually much lower in real life! He mentioned that he tends to rap/sing in a higher tone than usual since it has a clearer pronunciation for ppl to hear hahaha
It made me happy and moved to tears that you GOT IT! Kim Namjoon "RM" is a special young man who has been through a lot and recovered and excelled. Thanks for your reaction!
The joy it brought me when I saw this notification! Your appreciation for music and RM is the best combo and loved your edits with the memes and jokes. Taking the time to understand which is what we all did because these lyrics and the meanings are so beautiful and we get to know RM more via his references which is wonderful.
So..a bit about the title track of the album "wildflower" (always get me in my feels!!😭) Namjoon struggling dealing with fame and all its trappings, trying not to lose sight of himself while the whole world watches his every move. The fireworks/wild flower/flower work lyric actually came from his post back in 2017 titled 불꽃놀이the Korean title of "Wild Flower," which rhymes with (firework). He said, "Perhaps in our lives we need wild flowers [ 들꽃; deulkkot]-rather than flames [불꽃; bulkkot] or cherry blossoms [ 벚꽃; beotkkot]- in bloom, tranquilly." It's flower work because wildflowers are like fire works, they spread through the field just like how fireworks spread through the sky except Namjoon is saying he wants to live as a calm wildflower rather than a flashy quickly disappearing firework. So instead of living like fire flowers that is brilliant but would quickly disappear, namjoon would like to live more like wildflowers that are calm and tranquil. He used 불꽃 wordplay in prev work too Him wanting a life like a tranquil wild flower instead of a flashy firework that is quick to burn out. He always paints such a personal and powerful image.
To me RM sounds like he needed to explore the path not taken. The solo indie underground rap pathway. Away from BTS. Fans may stone me for saying this. But it is all over his lyrics. People telling him he won’t make it alone outside BTS. Him wondering what this means for him the person, the artist, the musician, outside is the group, as he is going into his 30s. Finally resolving that solo projects pre military is sufficient to let off some of his creative steam. Realising that he has passed a point of no return. That BTS is what happened and it is here to stay. It is a pity some fans won’t allow this conversation to be had no matter how many times he or any of the members asked fans to set them free. Allow them out of the box, to breath, to re-centre.
You may also want to check out the lyrics of For Youth and Take Two (by BTS, he writes his verses and some of the vocalists') regarding that, and any of his many livestreams. They're both songs dedicated to ARMY, the fanbase, and Take Two is referenced in Closer (Indigo) "It's gonna be the take two, stay where you are." Take Two (both songs really) shows how he feels about continuing as BTS and what that means to him. Indigo was about his own journey as an artist, and chapter 2 of BTS is about them being ready to be their own artists in addition to being a team as BTS. They're very clear about their plans, so anyone correcting you would know from how they talk about it. If he had made the decision to stop being BTS, as they were so close to doing in 2018, then it would be what he wants, but everything he's said is that he wants to do BTS until he retires. You can check the second time he's on Suchwita (a talk show on youtube hosted by his bandmate) for an example of when he talks about that.
im so glad you liked it this album has been such a comfort to me since december. i wanna correct one small thing ik its hard to believe given all the hiatus = breakup propaganda that surrounds boybands, but they are genuinely on hiatus. they’ve known they were gonna have to take this break since they began given south korea’s enlistment laws. in any case since the hiatus they’ve had a group concert, released an english version of a song with all seven members, the vocal line did a group song, and rm has many writing credits on jimin’s upcoming album so rest assured, the group as a septet is not going anywhere. sorry for the fucking novel 😭 if u wanna check out some group stuff my favorite album is love yourself tear
re-watching this again. i feel like troy would enjoy d-day, especially since most songs are so upbeat, then there are also the sad/calmer songs. someone please request troy to react to d-day 🥹
TROY??? MY GUY?????? OMYGOD I never thought this day would come. Definitely seated for this reaction, hoping you love and appreciate its genius! LET'S GOO
I loved this reaction ❤️🩹 I'm so happy you did the two reactions (paramore and namjoon's), both of their albums are two of my current favorites and the fact that also my favorite RUclips person reacted to them, making them so much justice was everything !! man, you made my whole week, thank you 🥹
When I first heard the "run away like a fish" line, the English teacher in me cringed slightly. As a native English speaker, I would have preferred it to be "dart away like a fish" or "slip away like a fish". But I realised that I can't judge artists who are expressing themselves in their own way. RM is fluent in Korean, English, and Japanese and writes lyrics in all languages. He also likes to play with languages and create neologisms. He's always intentional in his choice of words. I also realised that being snobbish about "proper English" has connotations of imperialism and seeing a certain form of English as "superior" is incredibly problematic. So I keep reminding myself that. Same with "flowerwork"
just like on best of me the lyric goes, you gave me the best of me so you gave you the best of you.. i don't think it is grammarly correct but it works
Hi! I loved your reaction! You should consider reacting to J-hope’s latest album Jack in the Box or BTS’ Map of the Soul: 7. I’d love to see you’re reaction and commentary.
I have been waiting for the day you would do BTS or any of their solo project reactions. Did want to say the ending lyric "we still love and hate this city" is a reference to his previous song Seoul which says something along the lines of "If love and hate are the same thing I love you Seoul, If love and hate are the same thing, I hate you Seoul". The lyric hits so much better when you know this I think
“LET'S VAN GOGH TO THIS B*TCH” it's literally my favorite moment. I've lost count of the number of times I watched your reaction, it's just priceless. I remember that back in the day your reactions to Fine Line and Walls were my safe place during the pandemic and never would imagine a few years later I will fall for Namjoon and BTS and will watch your reaction to his solo work. Thank you so much, if you feel comfortable it will be amazing if you could check a BTS album or another solo work, I genuinely think you'll enjoy it.
No No No No, I understand the confusion, but BTS is going to continue as a band. The oldest member, Jin, started his military service in December after his collaboration with Coldplay for his song The Astronaut and the BTS Yet To Come concert in Busan, Korea. The other members will start their military service as they finish their individual projects. They expect that all of them will have completed their service by 2025 and they are already looking forward to being back together as a band at that time.
oh my gosh, you have all my respect for reacting to BTS, not just that, but the lyrical genius himself KIM NAMJOON!!! RM?! No fvckin way this is your first reaction to your first BTS solo!!! That's a wonderful way to start off your rabbit hole journey, that's all I'll say 😂 Man, don't feel bad about being late to a party, as our fandom says, you don't find BTS, BTS find *you.* Please continue to react to more BTS. I pity those who have no idea BTS exist and create such good music, especially as SOLOISTS! Seriously, people are missing out. It truly is such a shame because their music is so. mother. fucking. G-O-O-D. You don't understand 💀 Best part is their discography is so diverse, there's literally something for everyone, rap/hiphop? r&b? jazz? rock? pop? indie? ballads? there's literally everything with BTS. But wait it gets better: They're self-made. They write, produce, compose, dance, rap and sing, they literally do everything. But that's just the music aspect, it's get better once you dive into them as people and see they're so really down to earth, humbled ass men with amazing personalities. It's a shame some of us have just gotten into them a decade into their careers...Better late than never. Please continue down the rabbit hole, you're about to open a whole new world that you'll never realize you needed. Please, please continue your Bangtan journey. There's a reason we're so in love with these guys. There's a reason we're so passionate and empathetic on spreading BTS worldwide and why ARMY will blow up your notifications from this one reaction. You won't realize what hit you. You have no idea what you've just done 😂💜
oh my gooooood you finally gave one of them a chance even though it's not in english i'm so happy!!! and indigo was exactly the album i would have picked if i knew you wanted to dip your toes into bts, it's the one album i thought would have been the best fit while still shaking your expectations a little 😁 also side note, they still plan on releasing music as a group they just won't be able to for a few years cause of their military service, but it's not a 1D kinda of solo. they still like each other for one lol, and they've always been free to do solo work alongside group work anyway (RM had like 30/40 songs out before this), they just didn't have as much time. ^^
this reaction gotta be one of my favorites ever. thank you for appreciate RM's lyrics and work. He is amazing. Indigo is amazing. For more RM I suggest "mono" if you want too. Mono is very important too me and is one of the reasons that I'm ARMY now. thank you again :)
"still love and hate this city" is a callback to an older song of his 'Seoul' bc in that song he talks abt his conflicted feelings abt the city he lives in
Just want to clarify, in the end you said RM’s time with BTS is behind him. Maybe you already knew and just meant this differently but in kpop when idols go to military and separate they do come back after 3 years or so. And BTS is planning on coming back in 2025 I believe. So yeah he is focusing on his on career in the near future but BTS didn’t break up or anything (it’s not the same as one direction because bts also still have a contract together and everything) so yes that was just to clarify :)
I enjoy RM's solo music so much, it's probably my most favourite one out of all the members. Also really loved your reaction to Indigo, those dance moves to closer were hilarious
I wouldn’t say RM’s album is underrated to anyone that is not in the west or ARMY or in the western media. RM’s album is a masterpiece according to most people that hear this album and ARMY. To me Jack In The Box by Jhope is more underrated in my opinion…. Edit: can you pls react to his performance on Tiny Desk and his performance in a small concert hall. It is on BTS channel called BangtanTV. Also I recommend Indigo Magazine Film on BangtanTV because he explains more of the song and the people he collaborated with speak a little too…sorry for so much lol
Namjoon is a great lyricist. He got into rap bc he wrote poetry since he was a kid and won awards for it. I don’t know if you have checked the lyrics from his mixtape Mono, but I love those lyrics so much… specially uhgood and everything goes .. ahh Moonchild too. Everything goes is like a mantra. His lyrics are just so comforting.
I think it’s interesting to look at rms indigo versus jhopes Jack in the box and how each of them showcased very different aspects of being great musicians. Jhopes album had zero collabs and he was able to convey all the emotions and all the story with his own voice. And rms album had a lot of collabs, but it all worked because rm knew exactly who he needed for each song to make it come alive for the listener. I just love them and getting to see how each of them goes about making solo music. Different from some kpop idols solo music where it’s just meant to be catchy and current, these solo projects feel like they can last a lifetime because they tell us so much about them as individuals

Not sure if chat mentioned this, but when rm said "we still love and hate this city" in hectic (19:39) He's referring to his earlier song "Seoul" from his second mixtape "mono" where he says "if love and hate are the same words, I hate you, Seoul" He does not define his relationship with Seoul as one that's driven by love or hate, but rather one he is simply very passionate about.
was going to write bcs that lyric wasnt meaningless i almost cried at that bcs i love seoul so much and that was a little nod to it

yes! and its especially powerful hearing park jiyoon and rm singing "don't look back no more" knowing their intense past struggles (they both dealt with mass amounts of hate and targeted smear campaigns which rm has been open about and had caused jiyoon to take a 6 year hiatus). and yet, here they are, at peace, showing us that there's a way out and that they've been able to look forward instead of worrying over the past. i got chills.

if you decide to react to him again you have to do 'mono' 😭 that one hits exactly where it hurts
yeeeeeeeesss please!!
I actually really need this!!! Sir, you are in for a treat with Mono! I guarantee you will love it!
💜💜💜
especially for troy's sentimental ass lmao he'll cry his way through it😂
this!!

G DRAGON KING
You're so right, those 2 works Indigo & MONO are just so underrated masterpiece!!
@@sarahr6295
But his 1st mixtape is so iconic too
RM's solo work is my favorite out of the bts members. Mono is my favorite solo album of his. You'd love it
G DRAGON KING
I love every single album of his
But i miss his 1st mixtape so much
✨PETITION FOR:✨
- Mono (We need more Troy tears sorry)
- D2 (let’s see how he enjoy that rougher Korean scratching his brain hehe)
- Jack in the box (Troy he’s an actual music nerd, would love to see him dissect Jhope’s homage to old school genres)
underrated comment. very underrated comment.
@@soboksobok9488 Thank you
I shall second this

i think this is my favourite reaction video so far. you went into it unbiased and reacted genuinely.
wouldn't be surprised if this intrigued you so much, that you're getting into the bts rabbit hole

I was going to comment this as well

BROOOOOO.... THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR LISTENING TO THIS. BTS IS SO MUCH MORE THAN PEOPLE GIVE THEM CREDIT FOR. RM does alot of the wriring for them, if you liked this you should check out some of their other albums.
No.2 song is really special
Park jiyoon the co-singer released a song called Adult ceremony which is basically about losing virginity to an older man but since she was 18 she didn't understood the lyrics about it and received hell lot of hate. It affected her relationship with her parents , she webt into depression JYP the company under which she was working created this image of her which she hated and went on hiatus for 6 years. In 2003 she left the JYP Company.
The lyrics
"My love , don't look back anymore , behind the clearly mix memories, these remaining live stays like a bonus , You've done your best
So No! No looking back No " holds special meaning.
This was said by park jiyoon herself
Thanks...I didn't know it
11:48 the "run away like fish" part doesn't sound weird to me bc my brain kinda translates it to "escape like a fish" lol. we love languages. i wonder if that's why joon said it like that too, like maybe it sounds different in his head due to him speaking korean.
Right? I thought the same thing too , maybe it sounds a little bit different in Korean
Doolset is much better than genius for bts lyrics! You get an explanation of cultural references and wordplay
ah thank you! was looking for this comment!
Tablo is fluent in english and a graduate from Stanford who majored in english literature which is why he writes really well in his songs 😊
funfact about wild flower (since you caught on the part about 'flower work' sounding like firework!) the korean word for firework is 불꽃 (bulkkot) which can be separated into 불 (bul, meaning fire) + 꽃 (kkot, meaning flower)... so yes! flowerwork/firework indeed :] rm's wordplay is so fun always...
that being said! wildflower's korean title is also further wordplay! because the korean word for a fireworks show(?) is 불꽃놀이 (bulkkot nori) and here in the song, the title swaps out the first syllable 불 (bul) for 들 (deul), turning 불꽃 (bulkkot i.e. fireflower/flame) into 들꽃 (deulkkot; meaning flowers that grow in a field, i.e. wild flowers!). so it turns from 불꽃놀이 (bulkkot nori; fireflower/fireworks show) into 들꽃놀이 (deulkkot nori; a wildflower show!).
i can't remember exactly why, but i think it was a metaphor for wanting to live more like something calm but longer lasting (wild flowers) as opposed to something that is shiny/sparkly but short-lived (fireworks) ^^
oh wow sorry for the essay T^T i am very passionate about this song... i hope you enjoy the lyricism troy!! :)
APPRECIATE THE ESSAY!!
I cant describe to you how im so obsessed with rms lyrics and wordplay @@ticktokki
thank you for explaining everything in such details! the essay Gods would be so proud 🫶
When RM said " how can I make my music matter..." Indigo is an auditory experience without the meaningful lyrics. With it, the album is a masterpiece
Just so you know about Yun (note from a website called Doolsetbangtan):
Note: In an interview, RM mentions that the title “Yun” comes from Yun Hyong-keun, a South Korean artist known for combining the colors of earth and water who RM greatly admires. His artwork is also shown in the album photos. This track features narration by the late artist and calmly lays out what RM learned from Yun’s paintings and messages and became to think of.
(Then Genius transcribed what he said)
Edit: I wanted to note that Yun the painter serviced all the invasion of Japan in Korea which they were terrible to Korean.
So so happy to see you covering this album! RM has my favorite solo work of all the members because of his wordplay
THANK YOU FOR REACTING TO MORE BTS. PLEASE, GIVE US MORE
It should have a Grammy nomination ik it ain’t happening but that album is such a rollercoaster 😭
heyyyy good on you for looking up the lyrics!! next time, I suggest you use doolset bangtan's translations as they are well versed in korean and translates even the hidden nuances that are essential to understand bts songs! thank you for giving namjoon a try! love when more people discover his music❤
Idk how many times I've watched this. I enjoyed this so much that I keep coming back!!
i will love it if you get into older bts albums (like LY: Tear) because these guys have so many bangers and great lyrics in their discography. it's really a shame most people only know dynamite and butter and assume that's all bts are about.

Namjoon IS THE LYRICS GOD.
He gets so deep and it feels so good
He is a Legend !!!
I can't believe we finally won a BTS reaction
OMG OMG YESSSSS!!!!!!! Thank you so much for listening to this RM's Lyricism is TOP TIER like the man has MAGIC. BTS is sooooo much more than what people think 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
IVE BEEN WAITING SINCE BUTTER DUDEEEE LESGOOOOOO
RM is only lyrically underrated by anyone who doesn't even know who he is I'd say, lol and yeah sadly, hard to find decent translations for BTS lyrics because they actually are poetic.
Also, the stuff RM is talking about is nothing like what 1D experienced lol.
6:24 That's RM core, his astethic, that boy is art that loves and lives for art
AMAZING REACTION!!!!!!! YOU NEED TO REACT TO MORE OF BTS CONTENT CUZ ALMOST EVERYTHING IS WRITTEN BY RM
i am a bts fan and i was hoping someday you would react to their songs, so thank you for reacting to this beautiful masterpiece that’s indigo, RM put a lot of work on this one and it’s great to see people of the industry saying such good things about it, he deserves it
Happy you enjoy Indigo as much as we do.
NO WAY U ARE REACTING TO INDIGO AAAAAAAAA
1:02 his voice is actually much lower in real life! He mentioned that he tends to rap/sing in a higher tone than usual since it has a clearer pronunciation for ppl to hear hahaha
I recommend Rm mono album i sure you would like his lyricism in that album
It made me happy and moved to tears that you GOT IT! Kim Namjoon "RM" is a special young man who has been through a lot and recovered and excelled. Thanks for your reaction!
Namjoon is a poet bro poet , his lyrics is so deep and hard hitting
Plz cover suga and jimin new albums those are dope
After RM, you need listen all albums from Suga aka August D. So awesome
omg you should do d-day by agustd ! hes also a member of bts and a part of the rapline :)
Please react to mono from Rm, it's so different from indigo, however is just as good
The joy it brought me when I saw this notification! Your appreciation for music and RM is the best combo and loved your edits with the memes and jokes. Taking the time to understand which is what we all did because these lyrics and the meanings are so beautiful and we get to know RM more via his references which is wonderful.
Indigo by RM is beautifully written, it made me tear up a little bit. RM is a great lyricist, I also recommend his second mixtape "Mono".
So..a bit about the title track of the album "wildflower" (always get me in my feels!!😭)
Namjoon struggling dealing with fame and all its trappings, trying not to lose sight of himself while the whole world watches his every move.
The fireworks/wild flower/flower work lyric actually came from his post back in 2017 titled 불꽃놀이the Korean title of "Wild Flower," which rhymes with (firework). He said, "Perhaps in our lives we need wild flowers [ 들꽃; deulkkot]-rather than flames [불꽃; bulkkot] or cherry blossoms [ 벚꽃; beotkkot]- in bloom, tranquilly."
It's flower work because wildflowers are like fire works, they spread through the field just like how fireworks spread through the sky except Namjoon is saying he wants to live as a calm wildflower rather than a flashy quickly disappearing firework. So instead of living like fire flowers that is brilliant but would quickly disappear, namjoon would like to live more like wildflowers that are calm and tranquil. He used 불꽃 wordplay in prev work too
Him wanting a life like a tranquil wild flower instead of a flashy firework that is quick to burn out.
I can never get sick of RM's music. Replaying everyday, still feeling it.
re-watching this again. i feel like troy would enjoy d-day, especially since most songs are so upbeat, then there are also the sad/calmer songs. someone please request troy to react to d-day 🥹
forgot i commented this. i still need him to react to d-day
TROY??? MY GUY?????? OMYGOD I never thought this day would come. Definitely seated for this reaction, hoping you love and appreciate its genius! LET'S GOO
I loved this reaction ❤️🩹 I'm so happy you did the two reactions (paramore and namjoon's), both of their albums are two of my current favorites and the fact that also my favorite RUclips person reacted to them, making them so much justice was everything !!
man, you made my whole week, thank you 🥹
This album is a true masterpiece according to me. RM and his friends made an incredible work
When I first heard the "run away like a fish" line, the English teacher in me cringed slightly. Same with "flowerwork"
just like on best of me the lyric goes,
you gave me the best of me
so you gave you the best of you..
i don't think it is grammarly correct but it works
I can't believe the chat didn't make you watch Sexy Nukim!!!!
Thank you so much, if you feel comfortable it will be amazing if you could check a BTS album or another solo work, I genuinely think you'll enjoy it.
bts are excellent songwriters.
Esp RM the others r good but RM's lyricism us something else
You guys are so annoying
Man cried in wildflower 😭😭😭
i wish he had the doolset lyrics instead omg
oh my gooooood you finally gave one of them a chance even though it's not in english i'm so happy!!! and indigo was exactly the album i would have picked if i knew you wanted to dip your toes into bts, it's the one album i thought would have been the best fit while still shaking your expectations a little 😁
also side note, they still plan on releasing music as a group they just won't be able to for a few years cause of their military service, but it's not a 1D kinda of solo. they still like each other for one lol, and they've always been free to do solo work alongside group work anyway (RM had like 30/40 songs out before this), they just didn't have as much time. ^^
YAAAAAAAAY.
Jack in the Box by J-Hope next, pleaseeeeee ❤️🙏
this reaction gotta be one of my favorites ever. thank you for appreciate RM's lyrics and work. He is amazing. Indigo is amazing. For more RM I suggest "mono" if you want too. Mono is very important too me and is one of the reasons that I'm ARMY now. thank you again :)
"still love and hate this city" is a callback to an older song of his 'Seoul' bc in that song he talks abt his conflicted feelings abt the city he lives in
SLAY loved that reaction. Can you react to a bts album next. One of my favorite albums is love yourself:tear SOO JUICY AND GOOD
Just want to clarify, in the end you said RM’s time with BTS is behind him. Maybe you already knew and just meant this differently but in kpop when idols go to military and separate they do come back after 3 years or so. And BTS is planning on coming back in 2025 I believe. So yeah he is focusing on his on career in the near future but BTS didn’t break up or anything (it’s not the same as one direction because bts also still have a contract together and everything) so yes that was just to clarify :)
you should try listening to Agust D, another BTS member. His flow is life !
THE POET THAT RAPS AKA NAMJOON LET’S GO
I really enjoyed this album...but, I really love Suga "D-Day"....give it a listen....
no cuz the first time i heard wild flower i literally thought i was in a coma. never heard anything like that before. it’s incredible.
true definition of BEAUTY😘
I highly recommend these bts albums
Dark & wild
The most beautiful moment in life hyyh
And love yourself year
They are fandom favs
