Wow! We subconsciously serve a God that believes in our oppression and is committed to it. And that it requires us to surrender all of our agency. Bravo Dr. Black! you are totally on to something there. It was something that was always nagging in the back of my mind, but it seemed a requirement only for Black people. Of course, that's how the oppressor conditioned Christianity to be, the religion that is. After all, the etymological meaning of the word, religion means to bind back or tie up. That doesn't sound like to whom the son has set free, is free indeed. Thanks, Sistah Hunter for another powerful guest.
Gratitude because this message right here was not missed but watched and rewatched here and in knubia x4! We make each other better, it's so beautiful! Love y'all! ❤🖤💚
I remember when I smoke weed… There were times that the weed was so strong that I could only take a couple of puffs, and then I will have to sit it down for a few minutes… That is exactly what was happening when I was reading this book! This is not a normal book… There are moments where I could feel myself inside of that ship… There are moments that Transcends everything we thought about being black, and being African… Great, great great great great work!
We didn't miss it the first time 😊. Thank you Professor Hunter for bringing on Dr. Black! This conversation is so deep, it almost requires you to be able to have an outer body experience to fully grasp the magnitude of the conversation❤🖤🙏🏽.
Prof Hunter and Dr. Black, Thank you both for this astonishing REmembering session. Special thanks to Dr. Black for calling on the ancestors for this essential gift, The Coming. Of course everything started in the water 💦
Thanks Professor Hunter and Dr. Black for this insightful interview. I just finished reading The Coming, and it IS a book full of wisdom and emotions. It gives us a look into the past, our past, so that we as a people can learn of our wealth, our place in first our Ancestral homeland, and across the Diaspora. Dr. Black is right, we are a great people, full of strength and wisdom. Professor Hunter too, that freedom IS a place of being. Like reading a book that transcends all time and space, The Coming, which helps me look through a new set of lenses❤
Thank you for sharing this clip. I found the discussion so profound. Loved his story about his grandmother. My reading list is growing as we speak but I look forward to reading Dr Daniel Black's text.
It's simply "The human condition". We have divided ourselves not only from each other, we have divided ourselves from nature as well. I mean, really, you think this planet was created "for" you? It is us that belongs to the planet! We don't see ourselves in anything that doesn't look like us, from your favorite sports team, to your frat brothers and sisters, to our church members, even to our siblings- division! Education , communication, and the ability to foresee the consequences of our choices, will create relationship and unity- otherwise, we will continue to divide ourselves, until we become extinct.
