    There is not one person on this earth that will not struggle. There is nothing you or no one else can do to stop it.
    If you can provide some sun for your children, do so.
    Teaching children two parts of life is a must, it all go together.
    Teaching a child happiness or joy before sadness or strife is good.

    I strongly believe it is the lessons of hardship, the inability to get things I wanted as a child and understanding that something I truly want is what made me who I am today.

    THANK U! the idea that we were treated well by secretly defrocked ”leaders", oppressors...this confirmed my 2 year journey...the allegory of what was read is like a familiar, yet forgotten memorial; memory...thank you!🎉

    Thank you, Sister Karen! Dr. Daniel is making it plain and very clear. It definitely resonates with my soul, the fact that I can't recall hardly any of my teachers. Christmas and all those europeans holidays always missed me and my siblings. We were fortunate enough to get a hot meal, thank God. Knowledge, Insight, and Wisdom are always on time." Wait! I LOVED my first grade teacher and she LOVED me (I believe) as I was scared of school and the students. She guided me through with Love and Care, I remember her name and even looked her up once grown but she had transitions. Still searched to find out who this person was and WOW! she was an awarded teacher+. The second grade teacher was a BiT#! gave me tremor...To this day I don't respect people who "carry her spirit towards me"I can see it a mile away (so to speak)...Enjoyed the reading

    Struggle does not necessarily have to be poverty and lack of material comfort. But strength of character is not usually built through material excess. I am saddened to think of how the insight and wisdom Dr Black is sharing is going to be mis-heard.

    Nope. I DO NOT want my children to struggle like I did. I want them to do what you did, Karen. They will have to seek out adversity and struggle. It will be outside NOT inside. And I mean THAT. Home is a soft place. Home is a refuge. All four of my children have had to do chores at home and work outside of the home for their own pocket money (only because we don’t have extra to give). But they DO NOT know my struggles. Their struggles will most certainly be different than my own.

    • @Woo9082
      @Woo9082 Год назад +3

      Karen and Dr Black are not talking about struggle. They are talking about the spoiling of children by giving them too much.

    This old school belief of "I struggled so you have to struggle too" is a poverty mindset. It only produces anxious and depressed children who become anxious/depressed adults. And contrary to what he says I remember the lack/poverty in my childhood and wished my parents had more to make sure I lived better instead of in scarcity. No child should have to live with the weight of adult issues worrying about surviving everyday just to experience the lesson of "struggle". It's why we strive for better in the first place. Disappointing message. The seed analogy was cute though...

    • @karenl7786

      "I pray that your life challenges you the way mine did." Doesn't necessarily or even incidentally mean poverty and lack. Hear the deeper message.

    The things I do remember I got for Christmas, was something "I loved "as opposed to something "I just wanted". I loved football, so the only thing I remember, is my electric football game- which is what I asked for every year-everything else, was just extra, and forgotten. Wow..
