  • Every year the annual Met Gala #metgala gives us a glimpse into the events exclusively held for the elite. With current world events, this year's sparked a lot of criticism. Drawing similarities to the hunger games and #blockout2024. Let's take a deep dive.

Haha yea I know she sourced her novel from seeing the differences in class disparities, still shocking when it looks so similar with the attire. Thanks for watching!

Marie didnt say "let them eat cake", it was written by Rousseau :') Marie was a child, a foreigner frowned upon in the court, a live stock to bear kings kids sadly. With her adolescent mind she romanticised living in a countryside which made actual people living there mad and i believe she started this trend among french royalty (og cottage core lol)

See I also heard of her being a child and that it’s unproven to be true and if she did say it, it’s because she truly did not understand the weight that carries. But it’s a generational saying that we all understand now as being tone deaf. A metaphor more than anything. But I didn’t even know someone wrote it. Thought it was a word of mouth type of thing. Thanks for sharing!

@@kayviana the quote itself was written when marie was 9 and didnt travel to france yet, over 20 years before the revolution. She couldnt say it because she wasnt even there and was too young, the phrase became a thing because of the revolution and because book publishing process was long due to the era so the rousseau's confessions were published when she was a queen which made it easier to attribute it to her, even tho it was probably not used by revolutionists but by people who supported it in 1850s
Marie Antoinette also did support the poor through charities.

I unfollowed celebrities I followed. I like this trend. It spreads the word and people are more aware about certain issues thanks to such trends - that when rich gain, we lose. Many people don’t notice that

I am not a zendaya fan. RUclips put her all over my FYP. I did not seek her out. But I'm happy t consume this content b/c I missed her content n I'm catching up. It's not that I dislike her, I have not seen her stuff. But I am one of the ppl that prefers behind the scene interviews that ppl find boring. I like those more than fashion. I do like t see ppl use their platforms Fall Out Boy is my favorite band Supernatural is one of my favorite shows n casts very active ppl n so are their fan bases. But also with FOB. If you as a fan are gonna jump ship on them b/c they are not choosing more serious content....you were never a fan to begin with. There is plenty of charity n donating behind the scenes that is never talked about and it's fair not to want to disclose finances. It's a better reward to do good without public eyes. B/c it's not for ppl t pag them on the back. But I prefer the conversations of the causes and charities that are near and dear to their hearts. What are they getting into their own communities. No that's not far away causes but that is just as important. It's not a big thing it's what you can do where you are. But it is also fair that finances are private for good reason. You can't tell everyone your moves these days. If it's that easy for ppl to turn on them, that wasn't a fan to begin with.

Yea I get your stance. Sometimes it can feel performative if people speak up about every event. Moving in silence is also a choice. I also understand why people are upset by the silence as well when world events are happening. But everybody makes their own choices 🤷🏽‍♀️. Thanks for sharing!
