New sheller here. Only get to go out about one week per year on vacation. Just went to Keewaydin for the first time last week. Best shelling day I've ever had, and most of it came from one shell pile!

I have only found one giant whelk on pawleys Island and I was so excited that I thanked God for allowing me find it!! It was not in pristine shape but I plan to clean it up anyway!!!
What a gorgeous adventure ! Seeing so many critters ...nice to see the original occupants of all those beautiful shells . Just wondering...at timestamp 23:06 , there is a view of a beautiful shell and , also the back of your ring . Did you lose a stone , on the end ?? It looks like an empty setting and wanted to bring your attention to it ! Hope all is well !
I feel like you should get some sort of prize for being so observant! Yes, I did lose a stone in my wedding ring on Keewaydin! I noticed it was missing a stone so I took the ring off and hoped I should maybe check my vacuum cleaner. Well, when I was editing this video I saw that my ring has all the diamonds when I started my trip, but I was missing one by the middle 😩 So I lost my diamond on Keewaydin somewhere. I wonder how many missing diamonds are out there!

We used to always go to Keeywadin on a rented pontoon boat for a wonderful shelling day. Hubs found huge Lightening whelks in the deeper channel-older with holes. Still in my mid Ontario Canada garden filled with succulents and tucked amongst the plants. Covid put a stop to that but your videos sure help make up for the loss. Thank you so much❤️👏
Thank you so much 💗 I really enjoy and love you sharing your shelling adventures. I watch then rewatch because I notice more the more times I watch. Yay!!! 😅
I'm loving having been able to see some live lettered olives for the first time. When I do manage to get down there, I'm going to have to stay for a long time. There are so many places I want to go shelling!! (And I'm going to have to bring empty suitcases with me, because I'll be bringing home even the big broken beach-loved shells!!)
Thanks Sharmon, that was a lovely trip to the beach. It is kind of funny, I am a tiny shell person, I have jars and jars of small shells. The great big ones are in my yard, they are piled around the AC unit to keep the dog from digging in the damp dirt. I do have one with a plant in it also.
My luck for finding the big ones isn't really that great, so I only have a few out by the pool. I do see other people around here with shells in their yards - hopefully I'll have enough to decorate my yard with them too one day! 😃
Hey there!! Love your videos! I was wondering if you have ever considered putting out longer videos? I keep wishing the videos were longer and that I could see you pick up other stuff, even if you don't keep it. Obviously, if you spend 2-3 hours at a location you don't have to post that long of a video, but maybe bump it up to an hour or longer so we can see more. Believe it or not, I like your voice, the scenery and looking at things you keep and things you don't. I would love to see longer shots without so much editing, because it feels like I'm there too! Thanks for considering longer videos! I am obsessed with your channel and I'm working on watching all your content! ❤️ Thank you for sharing everything you do share! ❤️
Oh beach friend I wish I could! I am going to try to make more content for my Patreons as a thank you, so I may be able to offer more content but I likely will not make my videos longer. I sometimes post things on my other channel too - SWF Beach Life Stuff: www.youtube.com/@swfbeachlifestuff Right now I'm putting ASMR videos on there but anything that I don't think will be a good fit for this channel I'm going to post over there.
@@SWFBeachLife I completely understand! Every RUclipsr is different and you do what works for you! 😁 I have subscribed to the other channel and will check it out! I am not complaining, just fyi! I just want to watch you more! I hope that came across in my original post. I am so glad I came across your channel, because I live in The Pacific Northwest, in Washington State, and our coastline doesn't get the shells that you do, so it's been fascinating to learn about all the shells and the critters. So, thank you again! For now I will just continue to watch the years of content that you have!! ❤️
That was an enjoyable walk along Keewaydin and the critters were all fun to see. Your shell haul was fabulous, as usual. Yes, those of us out here in RUclips landwere screaming keep the giant horse conch, lol. Thanks for another great beach visit.
Thank you so much for watching!!! If only there were 2 of me I could have gotten that shell in my store by the time the video dropped. Hopefully this week 😃🙏🏼
What fun! I've NEVER seen a live lettered olive. Very cool! About that big somewhat broken shell you snagged (and the horse conch you left behind).. If you put them in your ETSY shop, tag them for "aquarum decor" or "fish tank decoration," too!
I would like to repeat the idea I posted earlier: a glass jar full of cleaned Noetia ponderosa doublets, and an elegant label that reads: The Ponderable Puzzle. The idea is to mix all of the valves, and then solving the puzzle by putting the right pairs together again. You will learn how to recognise the matching concentric growth lines. This puzzle will be perfect for children to play with (if the shells are of equal size and not too small), or just as a nice decoration/paper weight on the table. Do you think it will sell?
I love the hinged Sunray Venus shells - they remind me of butterfly wings for some reason. May have an art project in the future with several I picked up in the 10,000 islands.
Oh no, when did you lose one of the diamonds in your ring?💎 I noticed it around minute 24:52 while you were showing one of the alphabet cone shells.😔 Looks like the diamond was there at minute 6:11 but gone at minute 10:46 when you were showing the whelk egg casings. I love watching your videos. Your voice is so soothing! I have learned several of the names of the shells just watching your videos. Thanks for sharing them with us.🐚🌊🏖😎
I knew I was missing a diamond and I took my ring off. When I was editing the video I noticed that I had all my stones in the beginning of the video but by the end I was missing one 😳 Total bummer but at least I didn't waste any time pulling my vacuum cleaner apart 🤷♀️
That 'one certain area' of Keewaydin is amazing. The next time I go back there I will head directly there first. Lots of variety and a tremendous amount of shells (normally). I miss it and I don't even live there!
I just discovered a beautiful state of Floria. My favorite beach was Lacomis Beach in Venice. It was the most beautiful beach I've ever been to. I found my first Hag stone. there. ❤😂
That olive was missing its top and was likely bleached out by the sun. I am going to touch on this in an upcoming video. The water and blur make the shells look great, but in reality what I see can be very different.
Love your videos I’ve learned so much over the years for you. Matter fact, I just got to Sanibel for the week. Looking forward to checking out some amazing ❤️seashells.
Hi Sharmon...we sure love your videos. Thanks for all of them. Wondering if (at 15:15) that hole is not man-made, and you have an indian shell hammer. We lived there for many years and found them all over...in the IRL (ancient shorelines)...and beaches. You can see where they started at a point in the upper right side of the hole. Have seen several on here and this is so interesting. Most of the artifacts are out on the previous surface which is now underwater... Best wishes...
I have never even considered if any of the older whelks that I'm finding are artifacts 😳 I'll have to pay closer attention when I go to the Shell Museum or any of the places down here that have Calusa Indian info just in case. That would be so neat! I know you can find old pottery on Cayo Costa - or at least that's what I've been told 😃
Another great Keewaydin trip! Curious as to why you always go the same direction there? Bryan found some great stuff on the south end... I keep saying - gotta get there! Thanks Sharmon! xxoo
The boat drops you off at the point, so you can either go north on the bay side a bit (not for me) or the gulf side. I tend to walk on the gulf-facing side and I'll go a bit north from there. Always hoping to find some sort of honey hole!
Good evening, my Beach Angel! I am delighted to be the first commenter tonight! It will seem as if we are wandering down the beach together! How fun! Yay! I'm screaming at you, darling! Save that horse conch for me! I'll pay you for it! Pleeeeze? You are sure having a great day shelling and seeing so many critters, too! I'm so glad, as you deserve a great day of fun! I've been busy with Marsha, but I have the next two days off and will spend some time dipping the shell collection I bought a few years back. It is still encased in calcium, so that will be fun. I have time off because she has asked me to spend a few nights with her this next week, after her eye surgery. If that is successful, she may regain vision in her left eye. Then she can begin the physical therapy she needs to regain strength in her shattered leg and be independent again. At that point, my work with her will be done, though our friendship will remain close and strong. I can then regain my own independence, healed and whole, as my dear Gama so wanted. I have learned so much about myself from my time with her! We have helped one another a lot and I am so grateful! Oh, you did do well today! Oddly, I didnt pick up a thing! Haha! At least my shell bag is not that heavy! Oh, those little baby crown conchs that never lived are so sad! That cone is really very beautiful! What a wonderful video this has been! We got our own beach walk! I'll never forget it and one day we'll do it for real, I hope! All my love to you, dearest Angel! Happy tracks be yours and lots of shells, too! Rebecca, Your Lost Mermaid ❤
It is sad to find all those little baby snails that will not be, but as it turns out they can provide a food source for birds and other sea creatures so there is almost no waste. Mother Nature is the best recycler!! I am so happy you and Marsha found each other!!
I would put all the tiny babies in a glass vial type container or tiny bottle, they would be so cute in there. Just a shame they dried out. Such a great video though!

Your channel showed up in my feed. What an enjoyable interesting educational walk along the seashore with you!
I thank you for clicking and watching!!! 🙏🏼
I love every single one of your videos, but this one definitely stands out. Thank you so much ❤
Thank you for watching!!
Great shells Sharmin. I need to get to the SW Florida coast.
Thank you so much for the trip to the beach!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love every second 🙌🏼🙌🏼🥰🥰
That was a great trip thank you 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩💖💖💖💖
💜 Thank you for watching!!!
So Great
The lettered olive animals' body matches the shell!
Ooh!😮 Critter City! 🐚
Love it - critter city!! 🤣
Hello. Good Evening 😊😊Happy Sunday Shelling🐚🐚
That was beautiful shelling❤
I sometimes post things on my other channel too - SWF Beach Life Stuff: www.youtube.com/@swfbeachlifestuff
Right now I'm putting ASMR videos on there but anything that I don't think will be a good fit for this channel I'm going to post over there.
I love all your videos!
Thank you so much!!
You're hired!
Seriously - thank you! I am going to pair it with a piece of horse conch egg casing so it will come with baby shells too!
WOW!!! Beautiful shells...❤
Thank you! 🤗
It's a neat idea, but I have about 50 other things on my "to-do" list. If you decide to do something like that let me know how it goes!
I love all of your videos! But, I believe you have a missing Diamond in your wedding band…. 😢
I was scrolling to see if anyone else noticed
Yup - you noticed too. I arrived with all my diamonds and left one behind 😩
Wow!
Such a good day shelling ! ❤off to Etsy 😂
I hurt my leg so I'm a little behind. I still need to get that horse on there!
I am so jealous of your shelling. 😉
I am so lucky to live here!
I love the hinged Sunray Venus shells - they remind me of butterfly wings for some reason. May have an art project in the future with several I picked up in the 10,000 islands.
Someone else recently said they really like the hinged sunray venus clams. I am not picky - they don't have to be hinged for me to like them!! 🥰
@@SWFBeachLife Oh, I like them regardless, but the hinged ones make me feel crafty 😏
@@maranathajacobs1907 I don’t have the craft bug yet. Just the “find shells - lots of shells” bug 😅
Such a beautiful video!
Thank you so much!
Do hope you didn’t loose the stone out of your ring on this shell adventure, some lovely finds , I too get so exited when you find alphabet cones 🎉
You're observant - I did lose a stone from my ring on this trip. 😩
I'm going to bring my snorkel mask next time I go to see if that helps my chances!
I just discovered a beautiful state of Floria. My favorite beach was Lacomis Beach in Venice. It was the most beautiful beach I've ever been to.
I found my first Hag stone. there. ❤😂
Aren't hag stones fun? They're also called fairy stones. 😃
Lovely ❤
fun
22:08; did you lose a setting?
You are very observant! Yes, I went home with one less diamond stone in my ring.
@@SWFBeachLife argh twaajedeh..
What "great 😃 pickins" for shelling today 🐚
5:56 above your hand, looks like an albino olive, or could be sun bleached olive
I hope you have awesome shell luck! The low tides are in the evening right now so bring your bug spray just in case!
Just found your channel I’m obsessed looked up your store are there other sellers on there too Thank you so very much 😊
You are going to learn a lot about seashells!
Love the video
Thank you!!!
I have a few jars like that!
