I just bought my first set of gouache and I've been really struggling with it I found this video very informative thank you for making it and your cat at the end opening his mouth was perfect timing I loved it
Finally!! Some good f-ing info about gouache paints, 🙌🏻! So many other art channels either don't know how to use this medium, complain about it, and inform others opinions about it Or (if they know what they're doing) they'll just talk about what they're painting & how gouache is underutilized...but they don't say Anything about their process; in both cases, No one's learning anything (not anything worthwhile). Thank you, for showing the comparisons and what we can do to change the feel/style of our designs/paintings. While I work with gouache, there's certain things I always have trouble remembering about it and finding good, in-depth, info on it has been a mission, 🥲 Again, Thank You!~~
I really love how detailed you go into the intructions, it makes it very clear and easy to follow. You're the only person I've really found that really goes into this very structural detailed tutorial teaching style, keep up the good work!
Thank you for sharing! I love the second painting. I am trying to learn that old school graphic design gouache mock up style. It's difficult because I am used to smooth transitional blending. Your work is very impressive and I can see the years of hard work are paying off.
Your style is beautiful, great work, and fine lessons. Love this tutorial. I don't know why YT took so long to show me this. But finely. Tnks. Keep that way for begginers.
Thank you for showing different styles. I love the middle one. I've never used Gouache this way. I'm going to give it a try. I have loved gouache sine high school... A long time ago!
*Edit on the bottom* Very good video! But I thought for poster style the paper is wet on both sides and allowed to absorb. I watch an artist from Ghibli studios demonstrate how they do their works (with gradient)but was a very interesting video because he talks about the various techniques that they are trained and required to do ***Nevermind I just realized he's using poster paint as opposed to gouache***
This is probably the best gouache tutorial video I've seen! Something really clicked in my head, with these 3 examples using the different consistency washes. WELL DONE! Thank you!
You do really great educational tutorials! Thank you! I truly hope you get more views and subscribers, you deserve it, and people would benefit from it. 😊
Very nice, gonna try this out. I keep trying to learn how to do the middle style, but every time I lay out the colors I get possessed into blending or going with the water color style 😂 I have the intention but then when I go to do it something in me is like "We don't do flat colors around here >:0" 😤 the struggle lol
Thank you again for such a wonderful tutorial! It's so generous of you for sharing your knowledge with us...Loved the guest appearance too(kitties)!!!😀🤗💙
Keep going with these videos!! Do you draw characters aswell? I would love to see gouache on skin, hair, clothes, facial features. You are helping me a lot, thanks a lot
Thank you for this great video :) most gouache tutorials just seem to repeat the same thing, and yours taught me something new! What gouache paints do you use/would recommend?
I’m glad you find it useful! I would recommend Winsor & Newton. I also use Holbein and M Graham. They are all high quality. But because they are a bit pricey, I mostly just buy their primary colors and try to mix the other myself. It’s a great way to learn how to mix colors 😊. If you’re looking for something on a cheaper side, arteza is ok too.
Thanks for the excellent instructions on the various gouache techniques, with nuances. Do you use your watercolor brushes for gouache, or keep them separate?
Hi there, I usually wash it off. Gouache gets bad if you leave them out in the air for a while. However, if I have another painting with a more desaturated color scheme then I would use the same palette as long as I do it soon after my previous painting
Interesting! So I am safe to say that; whatever you can do with watercolor, gouache can do the same (when diluted enough).. But whatever you can do with gouache you cannot do with watercolor..
I’m not sure if I understand your question correctly since I used google translate but yes, you can paint a full photo with gouache, not just sketching
You can as long as it’s not too wet. If the paint is still to wet and you’re using a high setting on the hair dryer, the paint may move and dry a little differently
This video is AMAZING sweetie!! Thank you so much for the patience of recording and editing the video, it is very useful for my learning process ⁽⁽ଘ( ˊᵕˋ )ଓ⁾⁾❤️
Excellent video again!! These comparisons are so valuable and I don’t see anyone else doing them like you… thanks for sharing your insights!
Só true
Even though they are all beautiful, the type of painting that I like is the first one. Congratulations for your video, thanks a lot for sharing 💖💖💖

I’m really glad you find the video helpful!
I succeeded to paint in the three styles.😄😄 thanks alot
That’s awesome!! Which one do you like to paint best?
I love the poster style the best right now. Great video!

They are all beautiful but number 1 is my favorite.
Really really useful to see the different applications & their effects..thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing how to use gouache in detail!!! I like them all but eyes want to look at the center one
I really liked the first painting
I like middle painting the most. Looks more unique)
This is probably the best gouache tutorial video I've seen! Something really clicked in my head, with these 3 examples using the different consistency washes. WELL DONE! Thank you!
i like em all but the first it is for me cause the depth of the details is yummy to mi eyes
Its beautiful 😍 i wanna practice more about gouache
this helped me so much with water consistency ratio i love it!!
I’m happy you find it helpful!!! ❤️
You do really great educational tutorials! Thank you! I truly hope you get more views and subscribers, you deserve it, and people would benefit from it. 😊
Amazing! My favorite was the first one, but all of them are beautiful and the video is very very educational. Thank you so much!
Really interesting. Thanks for that.
This video is amazing, and your painting is beautiful😍😍

This is so great . Thanks !
Your last two videos are really great! This style of tutorial is super useful and entertaining. Keep up the great work!
Nice!! I've learned a lot! And I'm gonna apply those in my paintings
Thanks for the helpful gouache tutorial. I've watched a lot, and yours are very informative and to the point!
I think I prefer the poster stle for more fantasy and imaginative pieces and the first one for more realistic subjects
you have really great tutorials!
Thank you for your excellent explanation!

Thank you! Currently, I mostly paint portraits with watercolor instead of gouache 😅
@@OgygiaArt ahh me too >< buuut i would looove to see a video about that with watercolors too!!
Great tutorial, thanks!
Voy a empezar en gouache, muchas gracias por el aprendizaje compartido.
Orgya muy bueno tú video
I love the background music, who was that?

This is so inspiring!!! 🥰
Very good, thank you.
Very good tutorial, cheers.
Thank you!
Thank you very much! This is really helpful :)
My pleasure 😊
What kind of paper are you using? Do normal acrylic canvases work with gouache too?
Thank you for sharing these really great tips and explaining so well! ;-;
Thank you for this great video :)

I really like your videos! They are so educational, it's super interesting to see different approaches.
Thanks for the excellent instructions on the various gouache techniques, with nuances.
Do you use your watercolor brushes for gouache, or keep them separate?
I generally use them interchangeably except for one or two super soft brushes which I only use for watercolor.
@@OgygiaArt thanks so much 🙏🏽
very interesting!!!
New subscriber! I want to love gouache. What happens to the paint on your pallet when you’re done? Can it be reused?
Hi there, I usually wash it off. Gouache gets bad if you leave them out in the air for a while. However, if I have another painting with a more desaturated color scheme then I would use the same palette as long as I do it soon after my previous painting
❤

Tengo una duda sabes si puedo usar el gouache para pintar un cuadro? He visto que lo usan solo para hacer sketch
I’m not sure if I understand your question correctly since I used google translate but yes, you can paint a full photo with gouache, not just sketching
Can I use a hair dryer to speed up the drying process of every consistency or will it mess up thicker consistencies?
You can as long as it’s not too wet. If the paint is still to wet and you’re using a high setting on the hair dryer, the paint may move and dry a little differently
I tried the creamy gouache... i found it gives glossy finish and kinda sticky
Is it possible to get creamy with matte finish??
What brand of gouache do you use? They should all be matte but I heard some of them is a little more glossy than the others
I used camlin watercolor tubes... may b i have to change colors and then will see
Thank u so much for letting me know😊😊🤩
@@jagilankideekshitha9434 oh yeah this video is for gouache not watercolor. I would definitely recommend trying gouache out :)
This video is AMAZING sweetie!! Thank you so much for the patience of recording and editing the video, it is very useful for my learning process ⁽⁽ଘ( ˊᵕˋ )ଓ⁾⁾❤️
What is the second style called?
Jeremy Ford called it the poster style. You can also search for cubism. Paint by number is also similar
