He is amazing. He is not a hockey player. He is a former figure skating champion. He flies on ice. His energy level is unreal. I have not seen anybody skate with such explosiveness. My son takes his class and loves it. The pace, energy and technical expertise with which he teaches his classes are unbelievable. I have seen more improvement in my son skating ability after only 4 classes vs. 6 months of traditional hockey lessons.
I took lessons with this guy once a in 2010 and just blew me away. He is like lightning on skates. I remember so much from just one session. I'm glad to see he's doing well. Awesome skater!
I had a good friend who always invited me to the high school hockey games. I swear he was one of the most agile guys on the team and just watching this reminded me of those fun games I'd watch where he literally would skate circles around the other team
Yevgeny is exceptional in all manner. A real standout. But, it was Oprah who taught him everything he knows and shows on the ice. Really. This is a fact.
Correction: Yevgeny was fortunate to be introduced to the game of hockey and figure skating under the intense and structured programs of the Soviet Union. Yevgeny made the decision to focus solely on figure skating, and has since made his mark on the world stage. He has won several Ukranian National titles and represented his country in two Junior World Championships under the age of 18.
Please let me know what skates you are using. I realize this will not magically make one magically skate like that; however, am getting back into skating and would really appreciate knowing.
+Anthea Swan A set of Graf 703's, "old school" (leather). So much for the over-hyper of uber lightweight and plastic. Leather is still phenomenal. Sad that Graf have pretty much jumped out of it, so tooo CCM and Bauer. But now so much (all) is plastic and made in freakin' China. Do not get me starterd............Caveat on Graf......... Each Graf model comes with a different fit whether in narrow, standard or wide. Graf are VERY fit (last) specific. If your foot commands one model of Graf over the other, you go with THAT model, period. Period!.Graf runners (blades) are deliberately heel high, thus placing the skater heavily on the balls of the foot. If one does not ultimately like this they have to have the runners pitch point moved forward (via template only - this CAN NOT be done by free hand) which actually lowers the heel - placing balance from far forward to a more neutral point. Very few operations in the USA have the templates to do this (Blademaster/Custom Radius). Again, this CAN NOT ever be done by free hand as some purport. Stay away from nyone who claims they can radius and balance point by free hand. There's a brilliant guy in Michigan who knows his stuff................: SKATEWORKS in Troy, Michigan. Their "ICON" process does wonders to any and all skates.
What level do you play? What level do you coach? Who thought you hockey? Hes not in the NHL because of his: Size, Passion, Stick Handling Abilities, Positioning. A lot of power skating trainers come from figure skating. Guys like PK Subban have used extensive training similar to these drills. This just gives you more control. Look at Jari Byrski edge control and note he has lead Senators Training Camp?
I can do all these skills that he does. But this guy is better than me still. I play on the applewood coyotes in mhl-Mississauga hockey league I play rep and I am captain on my team
You can tell he is a high level former figure skater bc his edgework is RIDICULOUS but his forward stride is stiff & inefficient bc the figure skating stride is different than a hockey stride
he's a figure skater but bud try it with full equipment... trust me its not the same.. I'm not doubting this guy can't do it with full equipment but if ur gonna train like this do it with full equipment it will help a lot in real games
Mackeria na this guys not a figure skater... hes doing this in hockey skates, he could probably do this in full equipment too. hes a hockey skating coach. hes very good
I can do all these skills that he does. But this guy is better than me still. I play on the applewood coyotes in mhl-Mississauga hockey league I play rep and I am captain on my team This guy is better than me though
0:35 Well, I've had that one down pat ever since my first time on ice! lol but seriously tho, when would you EVER use a falling down "technique" during a game??
Its not exactly a technique, I don't think. More of to show that loosing your footing doesn't have to result in loss of the puck or full loss of momentum and agility.
Jim Le if you actually trained for hockey you would understand that this guy is providing edge and power skating training. it's one of many areas you must train in to become a better skater and all around hockey player. Your comment is hilariously ignorant. Fool.

He has decent puck handling skills for not being a player though.
Practice, practice, and practice. It's like dancing. But, it's not easy to find a skating rink and practice it.
where can i sign up?
This is so fucking fake it's not even funny
@@blewyd a simple search of the name will prove otherwise

I had no idea Zhenya Martynov was such a sick hockey skater. BFF!
Harlem Globe Trotter of Hockey 🔥🔥🔥
what did I just see?? dang, boy got some skills... amazing. and with what agility. I wonder if he'd be able to do this with inline skates...
+Raqueem B Doubtful, the edges are way different and ice opens up a lot of possibilities not available with inline blades
Is this a tryout video for Mighty Ducks 4? I didn't see the triple deke so i doubt bombay will have you rolling on the 1st line Yevgeny.
wow....holy crap this dude is awesome

His name is Yevgen Martinov, please listen to narrator :-)
Mr. H. Mungus.
at I was like...this guy's is wack...then he started wildin out and shut me up lol
Datsyuk probably has better explosion and stability.
Didn't think I'd be entertained without a puck in the video...boy was I wrong.
Holy sht
He’s a a circus seal on skates
This guy is sick! Only thing missing is a helmet, seriously dude, demo with a helmet.
Imagine playing against him. Dude literally jus could use his edge work alone to alone out skate opponents
Buttery
1:00
1:19
he is quick and got a very edge works, but he is too upright and stances is bit narrow = weak hockey posture
SAVAGE
Holy shit

You've never been tripped/pushed over while carrying the puck?
I’ve seen at least one video where an NHL player goes down, but gets up again, continues to control the puck, and scores.
I'm lost this guy goes crazy fast how about modified speed numb nuts
+Richard Green You have to take the program for that. ;)
Смешно до 1.35мин потом drive))
Someone please tell buddy, that this is hockey....and not the circus. lol.
Jim Le this is why you cant skate good
