@@tox3904 Tbh I don't think he's top 10 all time. Has he proven he's a great QB? Yes he has. Who knows though with the small sample size that is his career.
@@tox3904 he has not had poor stats at all. He leads the league in td passes, top 5 in pretty much every major stat, and most of his ints have gone thru his receivers hands
You can't put Mahomes that high. He could get seriously injured any week and then not be able to come back from it. I love him, but he doesn't have the career yet.
@@tox3904 There's also the thing that defenses eventually catch up to you. There's been a bunch of upstart QBs that have had that season or two of notable play but fall off eventually. When Barry put Aaron Rodgers as No 1, I can't fault it. He's been great for a very long time. Still, if I could magically have Rodgers or Mahomes as the QB for my 49ers right now, I'd be thinking "SUPER BOWL OR BUST" every year. The chances they give a team look good. If I were a Chiefs fan I'd be ecstatic for the future, just be sure to get a solid, rounded team. Don't be like the Saints where the QB has to win a shootout every week because of bad defenses through Brees' career. Don't waste this talent.
Brees wasn’t really a dink and dunk passer until around 2018, which is when his WR options started tanking due to dipshit team managers trading off his best WRs as soon as they got them. He basically only had one consistent receiver at that point, which was Alvin Kamara, an RB. The Saints incompetent management forced him to become a dink and dunk passer.
If there's one thing I've learned from watching Barry's videos, it's to figure out the reason why you should fear a particular quarterback when they get on the field. When it comes to current QBs, Rodgers, Mahomes, Wilson, and Allen all have sort of different balances of the same gifts: quick on their feet, able to throw the deep ball nicely. Mahomes and Rodgers also throw a lot of difficult, highlight reel worthy passes. Mahomes kinda relies too much on his raw talent and it kinda makes him make mistakes that Rodgers doesn't really commit. Jackson is a run first guy that can sometimes produce a good passing day. Murray is basically Jackson but he can throw deep if he wants. I'm definitely missing some guys cuz I have a small brain and critically thinking about NFL offenses isn't my strongsuit, but that's what I've come to find.
There's no argument, you guys don't understand what greatest means. Greatest is determined by achievements, so by default brady is the Goat no matter what.
Tom Brady’s luck is the most valuable attribute of any player in NFL History. His luck has been so unbelievably fortunate for his teams that he has to be the best quarterback of all time
I wouldn't say the greatest of All Time, I would say the most successful of all time because the only other QB in nfl history with 7 league championships and 10 championship appearances is Otto Graham who went to 10 league championships in a row from 1946-1955 and retired after winning his seventh championship after the 1955 season. In terms of success, Brady has more passing yards, Touchdowns, Pro Bowls, All-Pros and MVP's than Otto Graham. Success is way different than greatness.
The thing that separates “one of the best of all time” and the “best of all time” is luck that’s why Tom Brady is the goat, he was given a good position and by far made the most out of it
I love this account because you’re brutally honest with what you believe and don’t get hit around by your fans. Like your controversial tom brady takes, which many of which I disagree with you on, you put them out there and promote them with stats. Most nfl accounts that have much less controversial takes receive more hate because they’re constantly changing opinions to appease the fans. You are real man, and I got a lot of respect for that.
I'm not even a Brady fan but he literally has dominated for 22 years. Owns about every QB record there is to have, 7 Super Bowl rings 5 mvps, 3 regular season mvps, and has been one of the most durable QBs ever. He has gotten better has he aged into his 30s and 40s and shows zero sign of slowing down. You're just a flat out hater and shouldn't be considered a serious sports analysis if you believe he's not a top QB of all time.
Just comes down to how weigh things. Is Brady the most successful? Yes, but every year that he won a Super Bowl, he had a top ten scoring defense, and 2-3 times the defense was better than the offense. That is a luxury some QBs on this list did not have especially Dan Marino and Drew Brees. His ANY/A goes down in the playoffs and some other QBs on this list have better per game playoff stats. His longevity is quite spectacular, but there are many, many more talented QBs that exist and longevity may weigh less than talent for some people.
Wow. Pretty good list! You had some great arguments behind your rankings. Now I'm not a big fan of Tom Brady but, I think you could easily argue him into even your top 10. Most yards passing of all time, crazy clutch 4th quarter player, 596 touchdowns. He was selected to play in 14 Pro Bowls. He won Comeback Player of the Year award, 2 Offensive Player of the Year awards, 3 MVP awards, 5 Super Bowl MVP awards and 7 championships. Then, went to Tampa and just ran the table with a team that had what we all thought was zero chance of going to the SB. I get it! It's YOUR list. But with all due respect, Brady didn't accomplish all of that above because he's lucky. Great video tho. Loved it.
Man watch his video on why tb12 is overrated because he’s not clutch and the mvps weren’t because he’s some crazy good player no it’s because of dinks and dunks
@@alexanderishere6205 I mean when you have 6 game winning super bowl drives I’d call that pretty clutch and uhhh you do know that last year the top quarterbacks in passes over 20 yards were in the 130-140 range with Matt Ryan having the most with 141… then there is Brady all by himself with 183. Yeah dinks and dunks that’s what I’d call that
@@alexanderishere6205 not having TB 12 on a top 10 list is automatically trash, I can see he's not the best to some people but his receiver options besides Moss and Gronk who been on the team long before he went to the bucs were not deep threat receivers

I know I'm in the wrong place for Brady defense, but the fact that he has 42 INTs less than Brees, with around 30 games more played, and damn near identical Y/A as Rodgers, I think you may be cutting him a tad short
Yet brees has more 300+ yard games by 30, the most 5k yard seasons(5), a higher passer rating both regular and offseason, has better y/a(7.6 to bradys 7.5) better passing percentage, and historically a worse team in every way down to the wr core
Montana deserves recognition for his production despite the system being dominant and a strong defense, but Brady with multiple 5000+ yard seasons, and the most Super Bowls ever doesn’t. Wtf dude
@@davidwinston8122 first year on the bucs he topped the league in deep balls. He only ever had Moss as a deep threat on the pats. And if short balls are so easy why doesn’t everyone do it?

Skipped to the end and I am glad you came to that conclusion. I am a Colts fan so you would think I’d say Peyton but no Aaron Rogers is the greatest QB I’ve seen in an era that has arguably produced all the best QBs.
I liked your list and how you explained why some players went where they did. I respect someone for not automatically give Montana a top nod because he went 4-0 in the Super Bowl, and recognize that statistically in the early to mid-90's Steve Young was amazing. The only area I would disagree with is, that while yes, Steve Young had the Cowboys and Packers buzzsaw of the mid-90's, the Giants and Redskins were tough outs in the playoffs for the 1980's 49ers.
The fact you don’t have Unitas on your list is a disgrace. He had every QB record when he retired. His records held up for a long time even though he played 14 game seasons and in an era where you could actually play defense. He fits all the criteria on your list. Have you ever heard of Johnny Unitas?

The era's are the modern NFL(2003-now), post Mel Blount rule(1975-2002), and pre Mel Blount rule(1969-1974). My list for modern QB is 1. Rodgers, 2. Brady, 3. Manning. Post Mel Blount is 1. Montana, 2. Marino, 3. Elway. And pre Blount is 1. Otto Grahm, 2. Johnny Unitas, 3. Roger Staubach.

@@wetlikewater237 you clearly have no clue how different football was back when Marino played, it was several times harder to pass back then. Now if you touch the wr it’s pass interference or if you tackle the qb the wrong way it’s roughing the passer and back then defenses got away with all of that and the defense had the advantage almost always now the offense does. Marino also had 1 good receiver his entire career and that was mark clayton and I would say he was equivalent to Julian edilmein at best. The dolphins also has terrible defenses and rushing game throughout his career. And sure Marino can’t run but he is the best pure passer the league has ever seen. Now do you need more explanation KID.
What always pissed me off about Marino and Miami was, in 1985, they were good enough to beat the UN-beatable Bears, making one of the leagues most legendary defense's look average if not horrible. After that, they would end that season by losing in the play-offs, 31-14 at HOME to division rival New England. The Bears would later go on to completely embarrass that New England team. What makes sense about that? Miami was so hot and cold and they NEVER had a good running game.
I completely agree with you about Marino. He was a perfect case of the team letting him down. Has one of the tightest spirals I've ever seen. I remember rocking his jersey back in school.. the guy was honestly one of the best ever
The Dolphins never got him a great defense or running game but they did get him some quality receivers and the best protection any quarterback in history has ever enjoyed.
@@bryanjones4444 If you're basing his protection on his low sack totals, recall that the guy had a snake-quick release. The Dolphins were executing pass plays much faster than the other offenses in Marino's best years
I remember watching those quarterback challenges they used to have on TV years ago and I remember of the ones on there: Favre, Esiason, Cunningham, Elway and a few others. They had targets set up at like 15 yards, 25 yards and 35 yards that would move across the field. Only Marino could hit the farthest one.
I'm taking Marino all day at #1. Young Marino before the knee injuries actually could run He wasn't a statue He ran a 4.8. He made the tighest throws, super strong arm and a laser release. Today's era is way too easy to pass in with the rules even a bum like Jameis Winston threw for 5,000 yards. Marino also never had 1 offensive hall of fame skill position player in his entire career. He never would have survived those hits Marino, Elway, Favre, Montana had to take.
@Luke Leary Rogers Isn't tough either. These guys benefit from the rule changes u can't even hit a QB low for God sake. Those QB's of the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's were getting murdered.

Great list. Personally I wouldn’t have Mahomes up here yet and would have Manning at 1 and Rodgers at 2, but you make good arguments for all of them. And I agree that in 10 years if all goes as it has been, Mahomes will easily be the best QB ever.
Chiefs fan here and I agree. I know he's had a historic start to his career, but it seems a little ridiculous to put him as one of the best ever so soon. In a year or two if he keeps up his ridiculous play, and he wins another Super Bowl, I'll have no problem with it. That said, I see his logic. Patrick Mahomes has had one of the best starts to an NFL career that I've ever seen. Hell, people said he was "figured out" this year after the Chiefs awful start, but he still finished better than 95% of QBs in the league.
I love your videos so much! Seriously, it pains me to do make this comment but someone has to play Devil’s advocate. HOWEVER, you can’t discredit a person and/or team for winning when they’re favored to win in a situation. For example, you made points about how Brady won because his defenses, special teams, favorable field positions, etc helped him and his teams win. His teams won like they were supposed to according to all of these factors. Also, you said that dinking and dunking is “incredibly boring and unimpressive regardless of how effective it might be.” You can’t make a point, jokingly or not, about how it is boring subjectively if it helps quarterbacks win games in the most effective way possible. Winning games is the most important stat at the end of the day.
The main point is that it's far from only the QB who is responsible for wins. So many things that are out of the QBs control can factor into winning games. So while you can say "winning games is what's important", that doesn't mean a QB who's on the winning team is the reason their team won.
Fun fact: among SB winning postseasons by a QB since 2000 ranked by passer rating, one of Brady's is smack dab between Dilfer and Brad Johnson of the 02 Bucs.
Also, loved the list, but don't know about Montana, maybe Warren Moon. If you switched Moon and Montana's teams, nobody would know who Montana is and Moon would be borderline top 5
Wow, the disrespect to Tom Brady is unreal, you will never see a consistent and great QB like Tom Brady ever again plus the fact that he's played for so long and won 7 SBs, not to mention he won a SB at the age of 41 on a new team in a new system with no pre season, this is a terrible list and in my opinion Arod isn't number 1, not to mention people talk about how he relied on defense to win his SBs but let's not talk about how Russ, Peyton, and other QBs literally won their games thanks to great defensive performance/plays, like Drew Brees literally won a SB because of Tracy Porter lmao, Peyton beat Cam Newton because of Von Miller, and Russ was fortunate to have the LOB who dominated Peyton Manning all game, a perfect example of superbowl 55
I'm a big John Elway and Peyton Manning fan. While I would rank them 9 and 1 respectively, I find it extremely hard to disagree with this list. Since you ranked Mahomes on the possibility that he will get there and not on his current status I have to agree with you there, and you pretty much sold me on the Aaron Rodgers ranking. Although that 2013 Denver Offense was the best offensive unit of all time in my eyes.
This list is pretty good. One of the greatest attributes to evaluate how good a qb is is how bad a team performs when they have a bad game. That’s where Brady shows that he isn’t that great or valuable to a team. He has shown time and again that in spite of his horrible postseason performances his team still wins. If any of these qbs play like Brady in the playoffs, they would be known as a choker.
USH from 2007-2018 NE with TB12 under center scored 5,229 points in 204 games played 30ppg going 136-36 in those games. From 2008-2018 GB with AR12 under center they scored 3,810 points in 156 games- 24ppg going 100-57. So there prime have aligned with each other from 2009-2018. And if you just decide to look at those campaigns individually Brady was the better player in 2010 2013 2014 postseason 2015 2016 2017 2018. Funny how when NE has a successful season(2001) it’s bc of the HC and team around the QB solely but when they miss the playoffs it’s bc the QB(who led the league in TDS btw) and it’s beyond unfair and petty to hold the only year in 18 seasons starting for NE where he misses the playoffs against him. don’t pretend going from a team appearing in over 40 playoff games with him and being a .500 ball club not able to qualify for playoffs without him isn’t a huge drop off. You been brainwashed by a twitter troll Brady played excellent football potentially the best ever(I don’t do goat talk I think it’s stupid) and you’re putting words in my mouth I’ve always said Tom has had underrated weapons a lot of his career. Regardless he produced all the same despite his surrounding cast. EDIT: I’d just sit this one out bro You don’t hear me going even with a 16-0 roster and with a probowl QB replacing Brady in 2008 NE missed the playoffs having a losing record Vs playoff teams despite having a drastically easier schedule from the year before(that’s bc I’m unbias and objective not a hater LOOOOOOOOOOL)
You really overrate physical talent. In my mind the qb position should be based on the mental side. Theres a reason "mobile, talented" qbs dont win as many super bowls. Its cuz they usually arnt as smart. Like you said with farve he had all the talent in the world. But he lived and died by the risky pass. It's really hard to consistently win that way. Guys like lamar Jackson and Michal Vick never win as much as they should is cuz they usually either have awful footwork or dont have the same mental abilities as guys like Brady and Brees. I love Mahomes, but I don't think I can put him that high on my list yet. He's already built a decent legacy, and his talent is unbelievable, but I'm a bit more conservative when it comes to ranking young players.
He's started off this year with poor stats and he's missed plays that he always made. I'm not saying he's washed or anything like that, I'm just saying things can change quickly when you don't have much sample size.
@@tox3904 Tbh I don't think he's top 10 all time. Has he proven he's a great QB? Yes he has. He has to show he can be consistent year to year and not make horrible plays as often as has this season before being even close to the top 10.
Rodgers is scary because of the hard count

In terms of success, Brady has more passing yards, Touchdowns, Pro Bowls, All-Pros and MVP's than Otto Graham. Success is way different than greatness.

So while you can say "winning games is what's important", that doesn't mean a QB who's on the winning team is the reason their team won.

aged like milk
Great video with supporting facts
I'm a big John Elway and Peyton Manning fan. While I would rank them 9 and 1 respectively, I find it extremely hard to disagree with this list. Since you ranked Mahomes on the possibility that he will get there and not on his current status I have to agree with you there, and you pretty much sold me on the Aaron Rodgers ranking. Although that 2013 Denver Offense was the best offensive unit of all time in my eyes.
The Tiger Woods mugshot for Wilson makes this the funniest video ole Mccock has done.
Came on this list just to yell at someone for making another list with Brady number 1. Little did I know he isn't even on here. Bravo.
At first I was shocked that Trubisky was only 2nd on this list, but when I saw Gardner Minshew was 1st it made sense.
For me I put Johnny Unitas in the top 10
This list is pretty good. One of the greatest attributes to evaluate how good a qb is is how bad a team performs when they have a bad game. That’s where Brady shows that he isn’t that great or valuable to a team. He has shown time and again that in spite of his horrible postseason performances his team still wins. If any of these qbs play like Brady in the playoffs, they would be known as a choker.
Exactly!!!
Since the start of the century NE is 26-26 and has zero playoff appearances without Brady🤨
EDIT: I’d just sit this one out bro
You don’t hear me going even with a 16-0 roster and with a probowl QB replacing Brady in 2008 NE missed the playoffs having a losing record Vs playoff teams despite having a drastically easier schedule from the year before(that’s bc I’m unbias and objective not a hater LOOOOOOOOOOL)
But I respect that you take unpopular opinions and actually do research
PS I dont really care about super bowls and wins that much. I was just meaning to day there are reasons generally that guys win.
